Avatar f tn Prilosec and Nexium is for heartburn. Prilosec is taken over a 14 day period and can only be taken every 4 months. Not sure about dosing for Nexium but Prilosec is often prescribed because it is over the counter.
Avatar f tn He has regurgitation. Hope to see doctor on weekend. Been a problem on and off for a couple of years now.
Avatar m tn Hi there, Heartburn, nausea, regurgitation are few common symptoms of hiatal hernia. You should be taking medications for relief in symptoms of GERD.If the GERD is severe, complicated, or unresponsive to medications, surgery may be performed. It is suggested to consult a gastroenterologist for further opinion and management. Do keep me posted on how you are doing. Best luck and kind regards!

Avatar f tn My Dr said it curdles in your stomach and makes things worse. I had heartburn every day during 1st trimester and half of second one. Tums was not working so Dr told me Zantac or Pepcid. I take 1 tablet in morning before breakfast and 1 around dinner time. I haven't had heartburn while taking Zantac. Total lifesaver. I can eat those foods that I couldn't without Zanrac. Good luck!!

Avatar n tn Hello, While this may not be the answer to your question, I too was having a similar problem through my younger years and up to as recently as my 24th birthday 6 months ago. Although what I was going through does not sound as severe as yours, it still sounds like Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, or GERD, or possibly a more serious form of reflux disease since your food is coming all the way back in to your mouth.
Avatar f tn However, mitral valve prolapse is common and most people who have it never develop severe regurgitation. Mild regurgitation is considered medically insignificant. Mitral valve regurgitation may result from damage to the tissue cords that anchor the flaps of the mitral valve to the heart wall. Over time, these cords may stretch or suddenly tear, especially in people with mitral valve prolapse.
1084115 tn?1385228589 Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition in which the stomach contents (food or liquid) leak backwards from the stomach into the esophagus (the tube from the mouth to the stomach). This action can irritate the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms.
Avatar n tn Minimal or mild and trivial valve regurgitation is a normal variant or finding on an echocardiogram and should not be concerned over.
Avatar m tn You have not mentioned what symptom you actually have - whether it is heartburn, regurgitation, chronic cough, feeling of lump in the throat. Going by the description you have given, I assume that you have heartburn that is not responding to PPI medications and lifestyle modifications. In these circumstances, a 24 hours pH monitoring test should be done to see whether you actually have acid reflux.
Avatar f tn It can also cause a discomort in the chest and heartburn and regurgitation of food. Have you have ever swallowed wrong and feel that pain in your throat and chest? Thats what esophagal spasms can do. When you threw up that time you may have had irritation from the contents you threw up. Its often acidic and can hurt your throat.
454046 tn?1244565593 Chest pain is not common - may be heartburn. But must be concerned about the amount of residual neck thyroid tissue (and possibly lymph nodes) as well as the less likely possibility of spread to the chest area -- will be important to look at the whole body scan and any abnormality there would need CT scan / Ultrasound evaluation. We expect to see uptake in the thyroid bed - but otherwise the neck should not have significant uptake.
Avatar f tn Very interesting poll. While I dont have POTS (or I don't think I do), I do have ANS problems associated With Orthostatic Intolerance and both Trace Mitral and Mild Tricuspid valve regurgitation, as well as malignant pvc's and Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy. Before I had my HUTT, the dr mentioned POTS since I was having Tachycardia also and quite a few other symptoms of POTS.
Avatar f tn Last night I was awoke with a sudden bout of acid reflex. It came on all of a sudden and I couldn't get my breath. It scared me and I stayed up took some Tums and then went to sleep in the recliner. I suffer with vocal cord dysfunction and any type of irritant or cold or allergy can trigger uncontrollable coughing where I cannot breathe.
875426 tn?1325528416 I wonder if anyone has any info on if tachycardia can cause regurgitation and whether if this is the case, if the regurgitation is likely to progress if the tachycardia remains unchecked. The cardiologist I went to last ordered the echocardiogram and other tests. He didn't bother to tell me with my follow up about my mild regurgitation in two valves... I found out because someone at his office mailed me the results, so I don't feel comfortable asking him about it.
