Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn and ms

heartburn

3777851 tn?1348968120 Agreed GERD is extremely common in the general public and you stated it well there is a relationship with MS. It could be considered a symptom but certainly not a diagnosing one. I suppose that in the aspect of relationship almost any/everything could be considered as such if there is not other cause to place blame on....or it could just be that one thing triggers another in a domino effect.
1296528 tn?1272524830 tell your VA neuro about it and he says you gotta talk to a gastro about it. see the VA gastro and he looks at your records and says, you got MS, what does your neuro say? funny huh?
Avatar f tn I drink milk all the time I go through a gallon a day. I just don't know what else to do.
Avatar f tn I get a throat cramp if I drink cold water too quickly. I also get an esophageal spasm (probably different than your heartburn.) My hematologist commented that those blood numbers can look a little off sometimes, and it may be as simple as a sampling error when they were doing the test. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you're concerned, call your cardiologist and see what they say.
1230912 tn?1273492770 I have heartburn too... but have no idea if it's related to MS. I'm a limbolander.
Avatar f tn I'm 9 weeks 4 days pregnant, and I haven't had no morning sickness just heartburn. Have any one experience this during their pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Not so much as the heartburn aspect but the morning sickness cus my aunt had really bad MS and get son had a full head of dark hair.
Avatar f tn Have to say yesterday evening I got pretty sad, new day today and still awful heartburn, anyone know how long this lasts, I know it is not depression because I have been off the pills almost 4 months , any help with the heartburn and yes I am on prescribed meds for acid reflux
Avatar f tn In the end the diaphragm spasms were not my heart or MS either. I had cancer and it was missed for years because my doctors made the mistake of thinking it was MS. I always run new symptoms by my GP first. Eyes and heart are the two things I always run by the doctor with myself and my dogs since both can be nothing or they can be serious. In my case both are in good shape.
5731802 tn?1375572607 Probably bean and cheese burritos and the other day I had a shake and really crunchy french fries and OMG nothing has ever tasted so good haha
1052518 tn?1253948150 My T4 free was 0.08. I had lab work and MRI that said I do have MS. I have not done the other test. I will ask. I have a doctor that goes with the TSH and T4 free and FNA and ultrasound results only to make that answer. I will ask for a second opinion. I need help with this.
2121625 tn?1350484749 I had some nausea in the beginning but not too bad. I had alot of heartburn tho and headaches... and I gotta remember to eat. I've been doing pretty good cuz my husband always makes me eat even when im not hungry. Lol but geez!! Not too much longer.
Avatar f tn Back in January of this month, out of the blue he started having indigestion mainly heartburn with chest pain. Couple days later his left arm went numb. We went and saw the doctor and they ran all the tests for heart since we thought it was heart related. Everything came out fine. He still had heartburn and few days later that his fingers on BOTH hands started tingling. That went away after couple weeks.
620877 tn?1282764097 I have wondered all along if my GI problems are related to the numbness/tingling and other possible MS symptoms that I have been experiencing for the last 2 years. If anyone would like to share their wisdom, I would appreciate it!
Avatar f tn is this the ms hug???? After a few hours it seems to let up and im fine in the morning. What can you do for the ms hug while it is happing?? Is there anything that can help with the pain? I have a doctors apt coming up oct 28th...I am going to ask him. Just wanted to know if anyone has any tips that might be helpful when this happens.
Avatar m tn This past November I started getting headaches, tinnitus, sharp muscle pains in my legs at night, numbness in my arms at night and shortness of breath (climbing some stairs would wind my pretty quick), frequent heartburn. Reported to my doctor and he ordered an MRI and did a bunch of blood tests (lyme, etc.). The MRI came back with "Multifocal nonspecific abnormal subcortical white matter signal"....
658467 tn?1296560964 Hi Everyone! Last year my MRI came back normal. Last week I went for an MRI and on my way home from the hospital my Neuro called me immediately. He told me that I had inflammation in my brain behind my right eye and I have white matter that lit up when they injected the contrast. He told me he is now sending me for a full MS workup. This week he is sending me for an MRI on Wed of my eyes. And then on Thursday a MRI of my cervical spine and thoracic spine.
378497 tn?1232143585 For about the last four weeks, I've had heartburn/reflux (real reflux, too) pretty much every single night. I almost never have had heartburn (unless in late pregnancy), and now, I'm waking up every night, reaching for the Zantac. I can't really take it pre-emptively right before bed because it might interfere with my BCP. Anyone had a problem like this? I don't take in much caffeine, this doesn't appear to be food related in any way.
Avatar f tn I have the very same question that you do. I have been diagnosed with acid reflux (no heartburn), esophageal spasms and hypersensitive esophagus. I am currently taking prilosec twice a day and a calcium channel blocker at night for some relief of the spasms. The sensitivity seems to be getting better (I assume because the acid reflux is under control) and is limited to certain foods now. This all started abruptly - along with my first tingling symptoms in July of 2007.
Avatar f tn My legs dont want to function and act as if not attached to me, they swell, burn, ache and thump and I am constantly dragging one leg or the other . no cordination ..I cry just getting up from chair or couch and at times cant....other symptoms include cronic night peeing trips..every 2 hrs..dizziness and fatigue....mri of right knee shows I def need a knee replacement..I recieved spartz shots becuase I am too young for other..
Avatar f tn Anxiety and stress can cause many problems and digestive and heartburn issues can be caused by stress. At the age of 17 I was being treated for a stomach ulcer and put on a bland diet - I had no ulcer - it was stress due to work. I was prescribed with medication to calm my nerves which helped. Even if your husband is at home, the stress will be still inside and he may be very good at concealing how he feels. He still be may be stressed without realising that he is.
Avatar f tn they are discovering that it may possibly be linked to MS and other disease that could be misdiagnosted. You could try a Gluten free diet and see if you start feeling better...many people have started and some are feeling much better.
Avatar f tn im pregnant with my 4th and suffered horrendous heartburn on them all..my 1st and 2nd baby were born bald and my 3rd had lots of dark hair,i swear she looked like monkey lol but heartburn was the same on them all, cant wait to see if this little one will have hair or not...

Avatar f tn We are the same week, and I had ms during the 1st 9 weeks and it was really bad. By the time 13 weeks came I had none, but that's when my heartburn kicked it, now ms is back full force!! I have to really watch what I eat and things that has a loud odor.
