heartburn

Avatar n tn I have disease and gallstones and, yes, I get exactly what you describe and as a sidenote, same thing happens about 15mins before kidney stone activity.
Avatar n tn Sometimes, the underlying cause is an inherited metabolic disorder or kidney disease. Gout, inflammatory bowel disease and some medications promote specific types of kidney stones. It's common, however, for kidney stones to have no definite, single cause. The following can increase your risk of developing kidney stones: family history, lack of fluids, age and sex, diet, limited activity, obesity, high blood pressure, and changes in the digestive process.
474189 tn?1211184460 I should add I have Chronic Kidney disease too which means I am unable to take most medications to control heartburn - nothing seems to ease it apart from drinking cold water but that only lasts for minutes then it is back! And with my kidney problem I shouldn't be drinking large amounts (going round in circles) I am getting so tired and fed up with it all !
Avatar n tn This takes too much calcium from the bones and dumps it in the bloodstream, causing kidney stones, constipation, heartburn, GERD, you name it! It is not a fun disease, but out of all the endocrine problems, it is the ONE to get, because a simple surgery fixes it. DO NOT LET A DOCTOR TELL YOU TO WAIT AND SEE!!! WAITING CAUSES OSTEOPEROSIS AND A HOST OF OTHER ISSUES! Do not just take vitamin D or calcium meds. More calcium actually makes the stones, etc worse.

Avatar f tn Hi there, about a month and a half ago I started feeling like something was always under both my ribs and it has been persistently like this and it's really uncomfortable, I'm also always itchy at night and have been feeling really dizzy and lightheaded constantly. I've went to my doctors and they took my bloods and all that came up was that my potassium levels were slightly high.

387767 tn?1345872027 Be sure to discuss all recommended vaccines with your veterinarian. A cat with kidney disease or kidney failure should not be vaccinated at all. Long-term feeding of an all-dry-food diet is also suspected as a factor in Chronic Renal Failure. Cats' kidneys are highly efficient and adapted to life in the desert, where they would get most or all of their water from eating their prey.
Avatar f tn Im very sick and cant get anyone to help. Avatar n tn Hello, The symptoms are definitely suggestive of kidney disease. You should get an ultrasound kidneys and kidney function tests done to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Obviously, he has severe anemia and no amount of iron will fix this kind. I have never heard of chemotherapy for kidney disease or kidney damage. I have kidney damage (kidney disease) due to an autoimmune disease. Kidney function is at 26% now, up from 20%. Autoimmune disease is in remission since I had all the mercury fillings removed from my teeth.
Avatar n tn I would encourage both of you to talk with his endocrinologist about looking into possible changes that can bring his a1c levels well down below 7. That truly is his best protection not only against kidney disease, but against other complications. If sugar levels are maintained at near normal levels, damage cannot happen.
Avatar f tn I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. She originally got sick a few weeks ago with pacreatitis, and when she recovered her lab work showed the kidney problems. We have been giving her fluids every other night as well as the epakitin powder with her food. Her blood report was better this last time. However she seems pretty good, has a good appetite ect and I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this disease?
Avatar f tn I'm 16 years old and I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism (Graves' disease) in July. Since then, I have been on Tapazole (10 Mg, 3x/day). When I was first diagnosed, my T3 was 669; my T4 was 4.5 and my TSI was at 350. I was essentially asymptomatic. Now, my thyroid hormone levels are normal, but my TSI is slowly decreasing (it's 325 now). Lately, I've been having severe heartburn. I eat a snack when I come home from school and that's all.

Avatar f tn For the past month I have been experiencing extremely bad heartburn and when I belch it is a very foul smell, almost sewage like. I have never even after surgeries been regular as far as bowel movements. I am not experiencing any unusual abdominal pain although I do have daily pain that I have come accustom to over the years. My bowel obstructions were caused from becoming septic after the removal of my right kidney almost 8 years ago.
Avatar m tn Later this week I have an appointment with a doctor who treats Hep C and who is part of a group that has been running various clinical trials on HepC drugs. I'm getting my questions together as I want to be prepared for the office visit and I have concerns with regards to HepC TX and kidney disease. I am Genotype 1a and had TX (pegalyated interferon and ribavirin) ten years ago but relapsed after a viral breakthrough at 6 months.
Avatar f tn Hi, The two main causes of chronic kidney disease are diabetes and high blood pressure. Glomerulonephritis, inherited kidney diseases, congenital conditions and infection may also be responsible. A lot of studies have linked soda to diabetes. Though drinking soda will not directly cause diabetes, it adds extra calories to the diet that may cause weight gain, increasing the risk for developing diabetes.
