heartburn and hives

I was taking these for 3 days and the hives and heartburn have gone away. Every now and then I can feel the heartburn and I resume the meds. I do not take them everyday now because I do not want my body to get use to the meds. And I also avoid foods, drinks and other products that contain sulfites.

Reading some of the other comments, I am now to assume that the hives on my inner wrists and inner thighs - are due to menopause? Sheesh - aren't the weight gain, hot flushes etc was not enough to contend with... Mine hives however, have come with a nasty dose of heartburn - which all screams allergy to me.

and I am the only one getting the hives. I just feel very itchy and the hives are of a noticeable size and all over my body. It doesn't happen when I am at work. Also, I went out of town with my husband a week ago and stayed at a hotel, and I got the same hives. I am not sure what this could be. I don't have any other symptoms other than heartburn every day, which is probably unrelated.

I havent had heartburn, but the hives and iching all over but mainly on the back of my neck and head and ears. My face also swelled up bad. My lips were so swollen they hurt.

I, too, have been suffering from hives and acid reflux for over a month now. My doctor wants me to see an allergist and a dermatologist but money for specialists is tight. I think because of the acid reflux it's gastro related. I had hives years ago but don't remember having the acid refulx. Thought it was due to strawberries at the time and it went away with benadryl.

I might also add that the hives I get only appear on my neck, head and face. And sometimes the hives show up in the same exact places (behind my ears, one on my temple always comes back and another above my eyebrow, the others appear all beneath my hair and around other areas on my face) I have also been feeling very fatigued throughout the day. No matter how much sleep I have had, I still seem to feel tired all the time, especially after eating.

I am 29 yrs old and started having stomach and upper abdominal pain almost like heartburn. Went to the dr had lots of blood work done had elevated liver enzymes then other testing resulted to testing positive for hep c....I totally wigged out! Im scared...have never used iv drugs in my life and its only a 3% chance from sexual contact...Im just tryin to figure out how I could have gotten it..I did get my first tatto when I was 16 or 17 from a friend of mine using a home-made tatto gun...

I started keeping a journal of what I was eating and could not find anything definite myself. I had a friend whose mother suffered from hives and reflux and had testing done and never found any allergy, but she took 1 Claritin and 1 Zantac every day for a year before it went away. So I started that regimin as the Benadryl was really making me groggy all the time. They do help, but I still have the hives as I can see them, they just don't itch.

seems the older I get -the more problems discovered, as im fully allergic to dieuretics of all types. and break out in hives and itching bad. besides stopping the dairy products - and useing gas x to get rid of the gas problems -bloating belly. is there anything I can take that is safe to use -to stop the bloating belly - and aches with it.

I'm 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I'm having some Hella bad migraines. I also have terrible sinuses, heartburn and I've been physically sick alot, with a fever and what not. I'm allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude.

Your problems are almost identical to mine. I had severe hives 12 years ago that lasted for 1 year and then disappeared entirely. They returned 8 months ago and this time I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. I also have several large thyoid nodules that are to be removed in a few weeks. I have researched this and seen many specialists, and unfortunately I have been told by my ENT surgeon and endocrinologist that there is no guarantee that the surgery will cure the hives.

ve been intermittently getting utricaria all over my body and at the same time, a horrendous pain stretching from my stomach up to my throat. The only way I can describe it is as if I've swallowed something sharp, like a crisp, and it's cutting all the way down my oesophagus. He refuses to eat because he says it makes the mucus worse! Could this be allergies and not a viral infection. The hives come and go! It seems like if there are no hives he has the mucus, if there is mucus there are no hives!!! Please help!

My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.

I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.

I get very hot and my stomach starts to feel hot and I get really bad heartburn and It is very hard for me to swallow my food. Then I break out in hives that cover my entire body and my lips, ears, hands, feet and forehead get very swollen. My allergist has not prescibed cortisone because it is only a short term solution and the hives usually come back with a vengence. I am presently controlling my Hives with 10 mg of Zyrtec and then 50 mg of Benadryl, both taken at night. Here is a list of potenial hive aggravating foods and medications: beer, berries, chocolate, citrus, nuts, shellfish, tomatoes, wine. Medications: Aspirin, Non-steroidal/ antiinflammatory drugs (such as Alleve, Advil, etc), and codeine preparations.
