heartburn

3777851 tn?1348968120 I too have gerd, and had my gallbladder out because the doctor thought that was the cause of my gerd issues. Guess what? Still have gerd and take protonix 40mg a day. I also get terrible esophageal spasms. Another issue, but thought that was from my gallbladder too. Wrong.
1105253 tn?1257992401 I did some research and I now think I might possibly have GERD (which you can have and not have heartburn btw). People with Gerd tend to have a congested feeling and those who suffer from pvcs find they are worse when they have GERD. It's worth researching as it might help you come to some conclusions. People with GERD also tend to have a frequent cough, chest tightness, chest pain, neck pain, etc, because stomach acid is actually getting into your lungs.
Avatar f tn Have you looked at the signs and symptoms of GERD or GORD. This is chronic reflux which causes heatburn and gas. Increased stomach acid after eating exacerbates symptoms as does the sleeping position. Usually the GP will prescribe PPI's like Omeprazole. If you aint happy taking meds, try some lifestyle changes. Google GERD and GORD though and you'll get some good info.
Avatar f tn What is the difference between GERD and Silent Gerd? This discussion is related to silent GERD.

Avatar f tn im going in for antireflux surgery next month and have suffered with severe heartburn for 6 yrs, my question is can it cause arm and hand pressure/pain as well as head pressure?
Avatar f tn for the past few months I have been getting severe heartburn, no matter what I eat I seem to get heartburn daily. I tried anti-acids but they dont really work. Now I'm starting to have a lot of bloating & not only am I always burping but also passing a lot of gas.. I dont know if these two are related, I dont know if this is a serious problem. I did go see my doctor and she gave me pills that dont seem to do much either.
Avatar f tn After two months of mononucleosis, I got symptoms suggestive of indigestion (after heavy meals, pain moving around my stomach). I noticed increased burping throughout the previous month. I did an abdominal ultrasound - nothing out of the ordinary. After 10 days of stomach pain/gas/bloating/burping despite a GERD-compliant diet, my GP prescribed PPIs (once daily) and enzymes.
Avatar f tn Hello. I have had severe heartburn and difficulty with swallowing for many years and finally went to a GI doctor who did an EGD. During the scope, my esophagus was torn and the MD was unable to view my entire esophagus. I went in for a second scope after my esophagus rested and a biopsy was taken (and I recieved another small tear). It was determined that I have Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE).
Avatar n tn For the past several days I have had to urinate often, felt a strange airy/burning sensation in my chest, heartburn, belching, and frequent gas pains and bubbly feeling in my abdomen. Also, it seems at night that I wake up suddenly with a jerk and/or gasping for air. Today I developed a shooting pain in the front of my neck and a shooting pain in my right lower pelvic area. I have a history of asthma, axiety attacks, and GERD. Could it just be this or does it sound more serious?
Avatar n tn Hi I have had GERD for a few years now. I've never had halitosis. Recently my reflux started acting up, so i doubled my prevacid. I'm not sure what is causing my very horrid halitosis. I have figured out it is not dental related. In fact when I burp, I can feel the hot yucky gas coming up from my stomach. A recent google showed that prevacid can cause a side effect of halitosis. Other comments insist it is the GERD but I am not entirely convinced.
Avatar f tn i also have heart skips and gerd. i have no heartburn but all the other symptons. been taking nexium for years, but still have symptoms, sometimes worse than others. my primary dr. does not seem to worry i have the skips, but it runs my life.i been having them every day for 6 months now.although i have not been formally diagnosed i am quite sure they are called p.v.c. and does not cause any danger.
1273473 tn?1270775840 Yes, absolutely. About 3-4 months into treatment, I had heartburn and gerd. Have been taking Nexium and very helpful. I am on the 40mg in the morning and helping. I was also coughing, which I attribute to Riba and gerd. Another SX that will pass. Hope you feel better.
1274110 tn?1270788561 I came off of Imdur 60 mg twice a day and a nitro patch. It was working but now I get real bad heartburn and my GERD (acid reflux) is back. Has any one had a similar experience? Here is a listing of my meds. Any help appreciated.
Avatar n tn I get bad heartburn. Have had a lap Nissen for the GERD and am doing great, but cannot tolerate NSAIDS for long. You may have to try and just see.

Avatar m tn I don't know if I have GERD--but I do know I've been suffering from shortness of breath and really intense heartburn. I thought my shortness of breath was from my Emphysema and the heartburn was from starting to drink v-8's in the morning. How does a person know whether or not they have gerd?
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! It sounds like you have GERD. I would recommend seeing a doctor and getting on some medicine for GERD. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Ten years ago, I had GERD symptoms everyday for about a month...(no heartburn sensation, but I could feel the acid in my throat, I choked on it at night, acid reflux, and could feel acid vapor in my ears, eyes and mouth day and night). And, for the last two weeks, I've been having the same symptoms. This time around I'm worried because, two years ago, my father died of Esophageal cancer.
Avatar n tn Did anyone develop any digestive problems or GERD through peri/menopause? I am 51 and in perimenopause. Last summer, I developed GERD out of the blue. I can't seem to get ahold of it with medication. My GI said that digestive upset onsets aren't uncommon during these years. Will it go away when my hormones die down? Would HRT help me?
6396087 tn?1399167632 Its annoying... A lot of people say that it means that the baby has a lot of hair and others say it's from the diet, but my sister experienced a lot of heartburn and my niece is extremely hairy. You can see the hair on her arms legs and back. I didn't get much heartburn with my daughter and she wasn't hairy.
9584608 tn?1413678892 Yea its just been since I'm pregnant. I never get heartburn at all unless I'm pregnant. But I never got it this bad with my first pregnancy. And yea it said on WebMD that its common in pregnancy, I just want to know if it is a possibility that I have it so I can talk to my dr about it.
Avatar m tn t have constant burning in my throat and windpipe. Only have occasional heartburn and not often enough for it to be a concern. Could my throat symptoms still point to GERD as being what is wrong with me? The sensation is not painful but is annoying and sometimes makes breathing seem difficult even though I am getting enough oxygen into my system.
