Avatar n tn You can also use any number of target heart rate calculators to get your heart rate zone, but many of them do not incorporate your resting heart rate (which makes it a bit more accurate). Below is an example of the Karvonen formula for a 23 year old person with a resting heart rate of 65 beats per minute (to get your resting heart rate, take your pulse for one full minute.) 220 - 23 (age) = 197 197 - 65 (resting heart rate) = 132 132 65% (low end of heart rate) OR 85% (high end) = 85.

Avatar n tn Basically, she breaks up your heart rate into 5 zones. Zone 3 is 70-80% of your target heart rate and results in increased aerobic and cardiovascular fitness. Sounds like you are training in high Zone 4 or even Zone 5. This level is for elite athletes and should only be visited for short periods by normal folk. You may want to spend more time doing light cardio. I agree with greendave, as a lot of us go full out and end up sustaining an injury or something worse.
Avatar n tn What would be considered a safe heart rate while exercising? I am on meds and am obese (255lbs) down from 288. When I bike (10k) my pulse can go as high as 159. It does return to normal within 10 minutes, Resting heart rate is 89 - 90 ish. Doing housework ect it is usually 99 to 110. Is this safe. On meds for Higfh Blood pressure, Have had 2 stents put in and a stroke. Reason I'm asking is that in an effort to get off some of my meds, I stopped taking my Diltiazem., few months ago.
443102 tn?1222125946 So I started BBT this month after AF came last Wednesday...and I have been out of town and didn't temp for four days. I was in CA which is not even in my time zone so I didn't think it would help. Can I continue it so I can still monitor for O-ing and implantation? Is it going to screw my chart all up?I am getting my IUI next week sometime, not sure when yet.... Thank you all!

743826 tn?1377892189 You fill in the exact day or the day you believe you conceived and your time zone. Then it will tell you what Moon sign was favored that day, male or female. It was right for all 3 of my girls.(As it was for the woman in the video) It says I am having a boy this time around but I will not find out for awhile. I just wanted to share this in case someone else wanted to try it. It's just interesting and not as confusing as trying to find a gender on a chart.
Avatar n tn I dated a gorgeous mademoiselle a few years ago in high school, we ended up deciding to slow down and just be friends, and she came to college in the same city as my school (I'm a year older). Throughout her freshman and sophomore years we've been seeing each other about once or twice a week on average, as friends... going out to eat alot, concerts, etc.

Avatar m tn Could she be overtraining a bit? Sounds like she is very active. Does she take some recovery time? I have mentioned this on this site before, but may look into Heart Zone training. Sally Edward's has a good book, Heart Zone Training. It gives specific heart training zones to improve cardiovascular fitness. I take a medication to lower my heart rate. However, it would be preferred to lower heart rate through exercise, as side effects of mediation I do not care for.
Avatar f tn Hey all! I know the general idea that PVC's in structurally normal hearts aren't life threatening. I get that, so my question isn't about that. Let me explain... I've had what feels like PVC's for an incredibly long time now...ever since I was a child I remember feeling a skipped beat and then a thump right after. It felt like my heart did a flip and I had to take a deep breath because it made me feel slightly breathless. No worries...
Avatar f tn Excercise at least 30 minutes a day and get your heart rate into the fat burning zone based on your age. For me, my weight range is 135-165. My body is naturally stabilizing at 155. But I do cardio and weight train everyday. The weight training is very important as it builds lean body mass and that is what makes you look good. Not your overall weight. If you just lost a lot of weight like me, you may have excess skin and that can only be corrected by surgery.
216278 tn?1308861082 t be hard the first couple days given the fact that you will still be in this time zone mentally?? I mean I think.. sounds logical to me anyways. Maybe if you have a thermometer that keeps the last temp it wouldn't be so bad? Just don't fall back to sleep with it in your mouth! EEK! Hope you figure something out and HAVE FUN.. remember us stuck back in Ohio!!...
Avatar n tn The Karvonen Formula is a mathematical formula that helps you determine your target heart rate zone. The formula involves using your maximum heart rate (MHR) minus your age to come up with a target heart rate range (which is a percentage of your MHR). Staying within this range will help you work most effectively during your cardio workouts.
11970715 tn?1422495509 It happens to me and it got bad to where I had to be hooked up to a monitor for 48 hours to monitor my heart.

Avatar f tn Everyones heart rate ranges are different. Person A might be able to reach a max HR of 180 while person B (same gender/age/weight/height) might beable to reach a HR of 200+. Generally speaking most people's heart rate falls around 220bpm - age ie for a 21 year old 220 - 21 = 199 (max heart rate This is just a general assumption based upon the general population. You may want to look into a "heart rate zone" test.

Avatar n tn I seen my cardiologist after wearing alert monitor for 30 days he put me on metoprolol but said nothing was really wrong, but when I showed the readings to my Aunt who is a nurse and use to read those for a living told me to immediatly get a second opinion, which I have scheduled for 4/26.
