My legs and hand hurt a lot and my chest feels very tight sometimes I get pins in my heart, well i think its my heart but it also be the muscles in my left side of the chest...I been to the doctor many times and to the ER as well they have done all kind of blood tests, ultrasound in the legs, EKG, and chest rays and everthing came out normal.
However All i felt was a mild burning sensation in my chest which I wrote off as heart burn. I went to the ER 8 hours later and they told me the ugly truth. What really shocked me was the lack of any of the typical symptoms - I had no heavy chest pain, I had no back pain, I had no jaw pain, I had no left arm pain.
Three weeks ago my mother had a heart attack. Her symptoms were that she was vomiting all day even though she had no food left in her stomach after the first few hurls.
You should get an answer to the underlying casuse for your shortness of breath and fatigue to rule out heart failure. An echocardiogram would be appropriate to measure heart chamber size, heart wall movement, ejection fraction (amount of blood pumped into circulation with each heartbeat). Shortness of breath was the only symptom required for an emergency evaluation...I was shoclked to learn I had heart failure!

If it is just generalized chest pain there can be many causes. You have many structures in your chest that can become inflamed. Have you ever had this type of pain before? Is it always there? What type of pain is it? Some people with anxiety will get chest pain and the worse the anxiety the worse the pain and the worse the stress the worse the cycle goes, so on and so on. Have you eaten anything that could have caused heartburn? Does it hurt worse when you lay down?

A while back you or whoever was answering questions here then said maybe I should get a chest CT for my atypical chest pain in light of a normal stress test. My chest pain is upper central, and sometimes throbbing with every heartbeat. I think you were worried about my aorta, and I also wonder if something else discreet within the structures of my heart could be missed by the CTX. My question is, what type of scan protocol should I request.
I totally agree with LindaTX, and I think your heart rate is very high for your age when exercising. You need to have your blood pressure checked and have an EKG. Then I think they may get you to do a stress test where you are just wired up to some monitors while you walk on a treadmill, so they can monitor what your heart is doing. I'm sure you know what an echo is, they use it to scan babies in the womb. They may want to do one of those to make sure there are no defects.
Hey kyomagi i read your post.....i always try to put this into perspective...the heart beats on an average of over 100,000 times in any given day and if you are feeling a PVC one at a time well lucky you. In comparison when i had my PVC's i had that same weird feeling of the sinking in the chest area and wrote it off to a little bit of blood pooling in the area.but if by the time you reach for your wrist or neck to feel your pulse and its gone well lucky lucky you...
I have started to feel a very mild discomfort / burning sensation around my left chest area. Then my heart started to run fast continuously and it is not something which comes on and off. I ended up going to the ER last night. They did blood work, chest XR, and EKG. My heart rate in the EKG was 105. The doctor said the heart was beating little fast but everything else was normal. But my blood pressure was elevated (150/90).
Today I saw a cardiologist whom the hospital referred to.
Hi, as some of you know I've had a bad time recently of ectopics and also what I call 'complicated ectopics' where maybe 2 or even 3 happen. Actually what it feels like is though my heart is going at a normal rhythm and then 'BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM,' then normal rhythm again.
It's almost like my heart is trying to scare me! It last about 3 second and doesn't happen often, the ectopics are happening a lot.
When it comes to chest pain, irregular heart beat and a sense of doom, you cannot take a "wait and see what happens" attitude. This is too risky. I do hope you're at the hospital now.
