Common Questions and Answers about Heart to climb the mountain

heart

Avatar n tn I love mountain biking and it has become the best sport i ever did. I recently though started to rock climb. I want to just make sure at 27 years old I will not drop dead pushing myself! I currently take cholesterol medication because of genetics. This test is also from a year ago and the reason why i bring it up now is because my doctor said I should have another echo done to make sure everything is fine. She has never told me not to exercise!
Avatar f tn I was Mountain Biking this last week, as I always do, and after a while without any apparent reason my heart rate started to climb and it reached 200 bpm and started to fluctuate going down and going up and stayed like that for around 30 minutes until it stay at its normal rate. This happened once before last year exactly the same. I want to know what might be the reason for this because it is scary, i could see my heart beating very rapidly in my chest.
Avatar n tn I attribute that to the developing blockages and not getting enough oxgenated blood to my heart. No medical person has told me that, but that is what I believe. It may be worth having a 64 slice CT to image your coronary arteries. It may be you have similar issues.
Avatar n tn t have to push yourself up a mountain, if you think you might have a problem with your heart. Just do some simple aerobic exercise to get your HR up, then do the HR checks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heart-Rate Recovery Immediately after Exercise as a Predictor of Mortality ABSTRACT Background The increase in heart rate that accompanies exercise is due in part to a reduction in vagal tone.
Avatar m tn I don't really know the answer, and doubt there really is one -- my guess is it differs on the person. None of us can ever know the condition of all the parts of our cardiovascular system until something goes wrong with it -- or doesn't. But I would say an interesting thread exists on this website where a physician who had been a marathon runner explained evidence showing running marathons was bad for the heart because of the over-exertion.
Avatar f tn My heart has a goofy beat every so often. When I was 25 the doc listened to my heart and said it was Mitral Valve Prolapse. Well I was having an occasional goofy beat at age 33 and had a full cardio workup. No MVP. Everything was normal and the 24 hour holter logged a rare PVC and PAC. All other heart functions were normal. I am very athletic. My max heart beat is 197 at age 38. Caffeine, Alcohol, Lack of sleep, medications, and a few other things seem to trigger mine.

Avatar f tn Had my membranes stripped yesterday. Hoping he will show up today. Might go climb a mountain trail. Waiting is exhsusting. Hoping for a natural birth. One way or another, our sons will arrive!
Avatar f tn Hi Jerry: would you happen to know why my heart rate would go from 45 to 100 when I roll over in bed. Also when I climb stairs the heart rate will go from 45 to 100-110. I been a runner for 40 years that's why I have a slow heart rate but I think its strange for the heart rate to sky rocket when I climb stairs, do lunges and roll over in bed. I do have lightheadedness with a balance problem for the last year. I don't know if that's got anything to do with my heart rate.
Avatar n tn I had to really slow down going up every 1000 feet we had to climb then I submerged myself in the river at first chance. Drank a ton, figured I was just dehydrated and had lost electrolytes. Felt a bit better, we made it out and got home. Then next two days at work lots of shortness of breath and dizzy spells with weakness and urge to potty. Finally went to have blood sugar checked at walk in pharmacy after 3 days of loading up on vitamins and gatorade and water.
Avatar n tn I suffered a small detachment of my retina 3 weeks ago and was treated with cryotherapy and retinopexy. My doctor has deemed the procedure very successful so far and has allowed me to go back to exercising. As usual, even with a list I rarely remember to ask him all my questions! I am a mountain climber and would love to do a little climbing but realize I can't go into high altitude.
Avatar m tn I was off for 8 days! I fell, I feel horrible about it but I am ready to climb that mountain again - and stay there. I guess a question I have for now is If i cleaned my body for those 8 days, then went on like a 8 day binge so to speak will I still have the W/Ds as severe as last time? I can't believe I fell but I did. I want my life back and I am going to take it back. Just curious if I should expect the same physical deal I did when I stopped Dec 1, then I had not been clean for years.
Avatar f tn I feel like I still have a mountain to climb before this pregnancy is over. I hope the rest of your time goes fast for you.
Avatar m tn Hi Jim, Well my friend you have a mountain to climb, or break down if her bad back come from some kind of sexual postion, you were both trying, remars idea of seeing a doctor is a good odea, but you may need to go deeper with theropy, in her brain she has built a wall, now with some theropy they may be able to put a door in that wall for you with the right kind of knock.
Avatar n tn Last summer when I went from my mountain home in NE GA to sea level in Seattle WA I got a terrible migraine. Could the flying to seattle and leaving the mountains all in the same day trigger a migraine?
Avatar f tn Most days I can hold back the tears when the pain pushes me to the breaking point. Today was not that day. Maybe it is all of the other stresses compounded by the pain that finally made me break down. Once I started I couldn't stop because the crying made the pain that much more intolerable. Last week I knew I was turning a corner. Come to find out this week, there is just another mountain to climb.
2028813 tn?1329107410 When I got to the top I felt normally fatigued and got off my bike to rest before riding back down the mountain. Within a minute or two my vision went white, both eyes. It was as if an atom bomb had gone off turning everything white. I could see through the whiteness; putting on my sunglasses helped. It went away gradually after about a half hour. I wasn't (abnormally) out of breath, dizzy or anything but fatigued.

584903 tn?1233831386 My specific question is to anyone who spends hour after hour climbing up steep mountains and then stops for a break to feel the steady fast rate from the sustained climb change to an irregular beat with some very slow beats followed by faster beats almost like it is slowing right down to a resting pulse then speeding back up to a more realitic rate for the exertion just done. It really worries me sometimes when i'm on my one high up in the moutains with many more miles to go.
Avatar f tn great hearing that you are getting to them little by little... you had a really huge mountain to climb in front of you and YOU ARE DOING IT !!!! i really wish you will have your children back to you soon, you are fighting for them like a lion mother !!
Avatar m tn I Love my Children with all my Heart but it was a HUGE mountain to climb at my and my Husbands age - He was just a kid too. EVERYTHING was less expensive then and jobs were more plentiful and STILL we struggled all the years we were raising our Babies. PLEASE, hear me again - I was too young to be a Mommy and I would advice ANY young girl to abstain from sex for that reason. STD's are an issue also.
748902 tn?1286034758 It was only a 5 mile walk but 21/2 miles of it was straight up, there was the occasional plato but mostly it was a steady steep climb there were 2 moments when i thought we had almost reached the top, only to continue on another climb, Eventually we reached the highest point we had reached the the end of the climb, the veiws were amazing, after a well earned lunch picnic, we began our downward journey, how hard could going down be? i think it was harder than going up.
