Heart rate table

Common Questions and Answers about Heart rate table

heart

Avatar n tn The exact cause depends on when the syncopal event occurred during the tilt table test and what the blood pressure and heart rate were during the episode. Treatment of autonomic dysfunction depends again on the cause. If there is a specific underlying cause to the autonomic dysfunction such as small fiber neuropathy due to diabetes, nutritional deficiencies, monoclonal proteinemias (conditions in which certain abnormal proteins are being produced), etc.
Avatar n tn I had a CT scan and on a beta blocker (coreg slows heart rate), however, there was an injection in addition to my daily medication to slow my heart to below 60 bpm. A heart rate below 60 is required otherwise the image is not very clear. I'm not clear regarding injection to overcome beta blocker effects. The way the BB med works for me is to prevent a high heart rate with exertion?
762919 tn?1234450210 Just got a call from my cardio doc.. and talk about incresing my heart rate..I was told they want me to have a tilit table test. Does anyone know anything about one of these.. or have had one?
Avatar f tn They start an IV and hook you up to the ecg where they track your heart rhythm. When the doc is ready, they tilt the table to anywhere from 60-80 degrees, where in short you are practically standing up strapped to the table of course. They wait a few minutes and see if you pass out or any symptoms evolve. If not, they can give you any form of drugs the specific doctor uses to raise the heart rate.
Avatar n tn He is 70 and in good health except for an enlarged heart. Is it safe for him to use the table without risk to his heart???? Thank you, Marcy.
Avatar m tn Her Cardiologist performed the standard 24 hour EKG which showed her heart rate dropping to 10-15 BPM and at times stopping entirely for 5 second intervals during a two hour period while sleeping.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) 6 months ago, following an abnormal Tilt Table test. Indeed, every time I stood, my heart rate reached 160 (max 180), drop in BP (Min 40/?), my symptoms got worse over 2 months, my GI system shut down, adrenal glands produced high level of Cortisol & Adrenaline, urinary output was 6 Liters/day + severe diarrhea, resulting in chronic dehydration.
5915940 tn?1376618634 what's your typical heart rate range? Any other symptoms beyond tachycardia? What workup have you had?
1316778 tn?1286994036 During a table tilt test, when the body is turned to vertical position after lying flat and recording basal pulse, blood pressure and rhythm and ecg usually a patient of autonomic dysfunction will experience fall in heart rate and blood pressure and experience fainting. If you don’t experience this after 45 minutes, the medication isoproterenol may be injected intravenously.
979826 tn?1389036358 Mine was much quicker. They did hook things up and that took a few minutes but they only tilted my table twice and when they saw my crazy heart rate they said that it was enough information. I don't think they paid enough attention to the blood pressure, I go up instead of down but he was just not really good at this test. It was fine, they got to see that it was POTS and that was a start for me.
Avatar m tn I have always been a very active person but my heart rate has always been a bit high 80s at rest and 90s walking. Almost 2 months ago I became very ill and made a short visit to the ER feeling terrible with a heart rate of 150. Because I was outside the day it happened, the emergency department wrote it off as heat exhaustion. After blood labs, a chest x-ray, ekg, thyroid check and A1c, my pcp finally said that it must have been a virus of some kind.
Avatar m tn After having two heart ablations, I still will have episodes of elevated heart rate, 150 times a minute, dizziness, and elevated blood pressure 186/100. I have had near syncope episodes as well and seen flashes of light. But sometimes my blood pressure will be extremely low, 85/40 and heart rate 60. I had a tilt table test and passed out after 7 min. The doctors wanted to give me a medicine to raise my blood pressure. Because of occasional elevated blood pressure I didn't take the medicine.
Avatar f tn I have occasional spells of fainting with an increased heart rate that lasts all day, My heart rate is usually at about 48. It spikes to over 130. I have had EKGs done, and EEG done, and an ultr sound on my heart. The results show that my heart is fine. It can come on randomly. They thought maybe I had diabetes, that was not correct. I faint no matter what I do. It happened while I was laying down, sitting, while driving, and just walking.
Avatar f tn The table is a narrow bed that has a board at the end for you to stand on when the table is raised. After taking initial readings of my heart rate and blood pressure they slowly tilted the table up. I had a sick, strange feeling in my stomach that I assume was the blood pooling in my abdomen as the table was being tilted. I had been experiencing triggers leading up to the test that started in my stomach, had shortness of breath, and finally lightheadedness.
Avatar n tn I have had issues with tachycardia and more specifically postural changes affecting my heart rate. When I started the test my heart rate was around 90 bpm, when they tilted me up my heart rate went into the 130's, they did give me 1 nitroglycerin and they said my heart rate went upto 160. During this time they reported my blood pressure as being good and not dropping much during the test. I have also been experiencing symptoms of heat intolerance, excessive sweating, and fatigue.
4489852 tn?1375753951 I am working on getting a blood pressure cuff to monitor my heart rate and BP at home. I will call him in a week with blood pressure and heart rate and go from there. The doctor also said he may want to add in Florinef, which originally I thought was a great idea, but after researching it I realized that it increases intracranial pressure. This is normally not an issue, but as I also have Chiari malformation this sounds like a very bad thing to do.
Avatar m tn All tests came back fine, but the heart doctor wanted me to come back for a tilt table test in a few weeks. I was discharged, and went back to my normal routine. This morning I got a call from CardioNet, a heart monitoring service. Apparently the heart doctor ordered me a monitor, and I have no idea why. If all tests came back clear, why would I need to wear a monitor? Is it because my pulse was slightly elevated in the hospital? I was in a lot of pain, and it was around 100 bpm resting.
Avatar f tn While lying down my resting heart rate was 76. After standing for 2-3 minutes my heart rate climbs to 110-115. Would this be enough for POTS or does it need to go about 120?
Avatar f tn During the test, your blood pressure and heart rate are monitored. You begin by lying flat on a table. Then, the table is tilted to raise the upper part of your body — simulating a change in position from lying down to standing up. This test allows doctors to evaluate your body's cardiovascular response to this change in position. When you stand up, gravity causes blood to pool in your leg veins, reducing the amount of blood that returns to your heart.
Avatar f tn I am 22, female, and have been experiencing a very high heart rate (100-130s) that constantly fluctuates (never staying the same for more than 2 seconds - I have a HR monitor watch that I use from my running days). I suddenly got horrible chest pain in July, so I went to the hospital and that's when I found out my heart rate was high. It never was before, it usual is around 60-65.
Avatar f tn they made me an appt. with a heart doctor. he sent me to have a tilt table test. the results were normal. my heart rate and blood pressure stayed normal.the second part of the test they give you medicine to speed up your heart rate. they had to triple the dose because my heart rate wouldnt get where they needed it to be.every since then i can feel my heart beating.next week i go to have a heart cath done, because they cant figure out whats going on.
5302191 tn?1366196843 After follow up with my neurologist, he suggested no answers, prescribed propranolol to regulate my heart rate and recommended we repeat the testing again in 6 mos. Maybe this is related to my thyroid medication, I just don't know ( the endocrinologist at Vandy said everything looked good) or maybe it's a case of Menoause from hell ( my period stopped in Oct.)!
Avatar f tn My recasting heart rate is 76 to 82 but most of time in Woking in office it goes up to 108 is it is normal?
Avatar m tn if my heart rate is between 48-6o bpm. what should I do? I check my pulse many time still below normal. also i checked BP was between 100?60 and sometime 120/80 what is the best thing i can do?
Avatar f tn She had the Tilt Table Test done yesterday. - she is 17 yrs. Her heart rate will be 50-70 laying down and 110 - 140 standing.......it was 130-140 during the entire Tilt Table test but she did not pass out. What did the 24 hour montier reveal? (or is this how you got your pulse rate numbers from?) Good luck, look forward to hearing how this works out for you. Don't hesitate to get a 2nd opinion and ask to see an electrophysiologist.......
