Avatar f tn According to the American Heart Association, an ECG stress test’s reliability is only 67% which means that a stress test may in fact have a false negative or a false positive. There are a number of heart attack related instances that a treadmill stress test will not be able to identify. It will not, for instance, identify vulnerable plaques which is known to lead to heart attacks." Your dotor has a responsibility to find and treat the underlying cause of your chest pain, etc.
Avatar f tn Suddenly I was jetting around, sorting out problems. The stress was agonizing. The money was fantastic and I did the job for about 20 years. I spent many hours sitting, but after work I did lots of exercise, and I mean a lot. I studied martial arts and they put me through my paces three nights a week, even training bare foot in the snow during winter. I felt as fit as an athlete. I then couldn't take the stress any more and formed a company with my Brother who was a builder.
Avatar n tn recent stress test revealed anterior apex difficulty what might this mean and what treatment may be needed?

Avatar f tn Other factors that go along with stress and how stress affects your life determine this. For example, if you have a lot of stress but you also exercise regularly, sleep well, eat really well, etc., you will probably have fewer problems that someone with a lot of stress how drinks too much or eats badly or is sedentary etc. So instead of obsessing over that part of it, focus on what you can do to change how you think so you don't have the problem anymore.
1460302 tn?1285764782 I had an ischemic heart attack several years ago, and tests showed hypokinesis (heart wall movement impairment) and at one time it would be assumed the heart cells were dead...in fact at the time that seemed to be the prevailing wisdom. However, with medication and a stent the blood supply was increased to the deficit area. The heart cells were revitalized and returned to normal functionality...that would be reversable ischemia.

Avatar n tn but since i was about 15 ive had an irregular heart beat.. and by that i mean its really fast all the time.. and its goten worse over the last 2 years.. ive had an ekg and a 24 hour holter moniter and the results came up perfectly fine but my docter just said my resting heart rate was very high.. average about 124 bps!! its so hard to explain.. but its so so uncomfortable to live with,, its constant 24 hours i put up with it..
Avatar m tn My resting heart rate is about 120. I've been seeing a personal trainer to try to make it stronger but according to her observations my heart has been able to take less and less over the last few months. I get random chest pain, and sometimes it's so bad I have a hard time moving my left arm. It causes strain in my neck and joints, particularly on my left side. I've had my cholesterol checked and it's fine. Same with my thyroid.
967168 tn?1477584489 Perhaps it is time to do an echocardiogram, isotope stress test and high speed CTA scan. This is what I would certainly ask my PC or cardiologist to preform. These test will give you all the information needed to assess your current problem. Your symptoms suggest transient ischemic heart problems and I wouldn't hesitate to find answers.
Avatar n tn I saw a Cardiologist who did an ultrasound of my heart, stress test and echocardiograms and all that shows up on my EKG's are Sinus Tachycardia. My symptoms are as follows Fast heartbeat, shortness of breath, chest pain and dizziness.... once the "episode" of tachycardia has past i am left with EXTREME fatigue. I have gone to the ER 2 times and the two times they dont seem to pay that much attention to me.
Avatar n tn I was just wondering has anyone had problems flying and heart being worst once in the air? And you know the whole pressure changing?
Avatar f tn s since my Holter showed only a sinus arrythmia which all of us have, a structurally perfect heart and the stress test showed that I am partially out of shape but my electrical signals are going through my heart perfectly. So from the cardio's point of view my hearts in perfect condition but these symptoms I'm experiencing do not feel normal at all.
Avatar n tn ) test of my heart and also EKG, and said it was all right. Basically everyone said it was stress and anxiety related. I accepted that explanation, but I can't stop thinking that there is something else wrong with me. Although my symptoms really do point to anxiety, what worries me the most is that for the past month, my "heart" chest pains are getting stronger. Usually they would start late at night when I would lie down to sleep, and did not appear when I was active.
Avatar f tn Im scared that there is something wrong with my heart, and I am also scared that this stress and depression is not going to help anything whatsoever. Im tired all the time, i get pains in my left shoulder, heart palpitations, the "sinking heart" feeling, ice pick headaches, twitches in stomach, and I just feel like im falling apart. Can anyone help?
Avatar n tn The heart beats at least 100 beats per minute and may reach 300 beats per minute. After treatment or on its own, the heart usually returns to a normal rate of 60 to 100 beats a minute. SVT may start and end quickly, and you may not have symptoms. SVT becomes a problem when it happens often, lasts a long time, or causes symptoms. SVT also is called paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) or paroxysmal atrial tachycardia (PAT). What causes SVT?
Avatar f tn Since fall in 2017, I've been having heart palpitations and a little bit of chest pain, but it wasn't bad and only occurred once in awhile. I had an EKG and 48 holter monitor done, but no symptoms occurred then. But since January, it's been getting a lot worse. I have chest pain and palpitations every day. The pain is sometimes sharp, sometimes it's achy and throbbing, and sometimes it feels really tight, especially when I lay on my side.
Avatar m tn i have had 6 stints placed this passed year and half, also have had heart attack before that. i now have low energy and tierd alot, if i am more active on a given day i am very tiered the next. i also have cheast pain almost every day. the blood flow was not what is should have been at my last stress test. my doctor said i have scemia and also said i have damage to my heart from attack but didnt say how much.
Avatar m tn A doctor needs to see you to take a history, give you a physical exam, and perhaps do tests like EKG and stress echocardiogram to see how you are doing. Anxiety causes shallow, rapid breathing, and breathing like that increases anxiety. This is why people who are upset are told to breathe slowly or breathe into a paper bag. This treats the hyperventilation that is making them feel bad.
Avatar m tn Firstly i am 22 male 13stones fairly athletic, I have recently been getting palputatuions and notciced at certain times maybe once or twice a day my heart beats harder and slightly quicker. normally this happens after i fell a kind of addrenaline rush in my stomach. Avatar f tn I have a friend of mine having some health issues. Now he's been known to manipulate people so it's hard to know when there's something really going on with him. Anyway, he says he's had so far 4 heart attacks within about a month's time, the first two he didn't go to the hospital for but recovered.
Avatar f tn When the first one happened I was trying to fall asleep. The second one happened while I was washing the dishes. They did do blood work for cardiac enzymes and both times the bloodwork was normal. My echo and stress test is scheduled for Wednesday morning. Is this Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy something that can kept under control- if I do have it will I still be able to live a normal active life without having to worry that Im going to keel over?
Avatar f tn I am off my medication and I am still having problems. One day, I had went to my gyno and when she listen to my heart she told me it sounded like I had swallowed a humming bird. I then went to a cardiologist and he told me that it was because I am out of shape and sensitive to food coloring. I do not think that is my case. I told my mom but she just wants to believe that we found a diagnosis. Just tonight, I was lying in bed and my heart was just racing like it was its own marathon.
