My primary physician said I probably overdid the stretches and triggered a muscle rebound (contracting) problem. An MRI of my back was taken, showing osteoarthritis (which I've known about for years). In fact I've suffered from sciatica before but that was years ago and I've been mostly pain-free since then. Was sent for physical theraphy, which seemed to resolve the issue after 4-6 weeks of treatment.
From the very onset of use of statin drugs for their powerful cholesterol lowering effect, muscle aches and pains reflecting possible underlying muscle inflammation....Lipitor and Vytorin most probable.

At the six month after surgery point, I underwent a stress radionuclide test and another heart catheterization (required by my job). Both tests showed no problems. However, the aching remains and is intensifying somewhat. I exercise frequently (and heavily), but it seems to have no effect on the aching. The only links I can come up with is the aching is worse when I'm physically tired, and usually improves when I eat or drink.

I had the same problem before and i had it checked with my Gastroenterologist. He ruled out GERD because i thought i was having heart problems and i thought i was going to have a heart attack anytime. I also thought that i had lung problems because of the back ache. I would suggest you ask your doctor for a better medicine. I did take Nexium and it helped me out a lot.
With the leg problem that you feel like stretching them, it sounds like it could be "restless leg syndrome". This is usually treated with an antidepressant called amitriptyline.
With your arms aching too, you may have some form of arthritis.
Unfortunately as we get older, us unfortunate ones, start to feel aches and pains.
Ask your doctor about the restless leg syndrome. Pain relief and anti-inflammatories may help.

Hi again, I am only on T4. I live in Australia but might as well be Mars. Doc here thoroughly dismiss the idea of T3 replacement.
I spent 15 long and miserable years with a TSH hovering from 0.90 to 2.75 and back again, and was always told I was normal. Unfortunately I was NOT normal! I had severe Hashimoto's, hence the swinging thyroid levels. I feel bad around 1.0 and it has crept up to 11.99 recently and now back down again to 1.21 but I feel awful no matter what the number!
Does anyone else have tremendous leg pains and aches? I'm not having the "attacks" as often...I think my anxiety has all settled in my legs.....and a little heart palpitations also.....
For the last week I have been having some terrible aches below the rib cage which radiates around the back and also down my left arm causing tingles and nubness in the end of my fingers. I am aware of the ms hug but mine feels like it is more to do with digestion etc. It starts out as a hungry feeling but almost immediately turns into a dull ache and I am experiencing the same pain in the left arm. It seems strange that if it is to do with digestion that it should affect my arm.
Sheesh. There's so many things that can cause those kinds of symptoms!!

You know, depression can manifest itself with fatigue and/or aches and pains -- and that's without recognizing that you are depressed.
Depression makes me feel like I'm made out of lead!!! And like I'm immersed in a sea of jello or something that's hard to slog through!!
Fenofibrate in combination with a Statin drug can cause severe Rhabdomyolysis. I know because I have gone through it. My muscle pain got so severe that I couldn't even move my arms and I wound up in the ER with kidney (also a muscle) pain so severe, I was climbing the walls.
I have been going through some pretty bad anxiety and worries the past month or so. I was essentially wondering if it is common or even heard of for anxiety to cause joint pains? Can anxiety cause dull/achy pains in the hands and feet? I'm not sure if I have joint pains or muscle aches and was wondering pretty much if anxiety can be the root. I am a diagnosed OCD and self diagnosed worry wart. Please help!
m about to pass out after walking more than five minutes. But the all over muscle pain and body aches and joint aches and cramps in other parts of my body, the doctor still has no idea what is causing it. I can type for a while but then it hurts. The worst for my hands is trying to hold a pen or pencil or a fork or spoon or a cup or glass. It's just down right painful. So I'm having a horrible time using my hands and no one knows why.
My symptoms include anxiety and panic attacks, weight loss, nervousness, sweating, heart racing to 120 bpm, muscle tremors and frequent muscle twitches, insomnia, muscle pain, tightness, and weakness, joint pain, GI upset, lightened menstrual periods, headaches, dizziness, breathlessness, lack of concentration and confusion and sometimes itchy skin. These symptoms have increased in severity in the last two months, but still blood work returns "normal".
A few days ago, I began experiencing muscle aches everywhere that I cannot explain through changes in exercise or activity. Is this my body adjusting to the medication and needing more Synthroid? Blood test next Friday for synthroid increase.
Prior to beginning my medication, the only hypo symptoms I had included tiredness and horrific periods.

diseased heart muscle and it is a serious form of heart disease. You need to be followed by a doctor who understands exactly how to treat this disease as the treatments are different for each of the cardiomyopathies. Those treatments vary from drug use all the way to transplantation although only a small percentage of patients actually need to get a transplant.
