Avatar m tn This is very true. With the proper meds, eating a heart healthy diet and regular exercise is the best treatment for heart disease. This helps improve heart function. I walk very briskly for an hour a day everyday. Not sure what the heart rate I should not exceed is. I'm sure my heart would tell me if I reach it.
Avatar m tn Two months later, I had to have 2 stints placed in 2 arteries because of congestive heart failure. An artery was done that did not need done, by pass failed. An artery that needed done, nothing was done. The VA admitted in writing was the case, but because it was not done malishiously, the were not liable for the surgery. I had health insurance at the time that was billed by the VA. Question: the surgery was corrected with stints, does this mean I no longer have congestive heart failure?

He is about 100 lbs overweight, he sleeps at least 16 hours a day (not kidding), he smokes a pack a day, and eats anything he wants...fast food, anything! He doesnt drink water, only pop and coffee. Recently I've noticed that he stops breathing shortly when he sleeps.
Avatar f tn Then it seems all of my by-passes collapsed and I had to have them replaced with stints. I now have 17 stints and get chest pain with both exertion and at rest (worse than before I started the surgeries). I won't undergo anymore procedures and am following a strict diet and moderate exercise program. So count yourself lucky.

Avatar f tn I am a 48 year old female and 1 year ago went for an cardiogram and they placed 2 stints in the 90% blockage in the artery to my heart. Unfortunately I also have a 100%, a 50% and an 80% blockage still there. I don't feel I am functioning as I did prior to the angioplasty. I want to know if It is possible to get the 100% blockage opened with angioplasty since they do not want to do bypass surgery for 1 artery.

Avatar n tn I am a 52 year old woman and have heart problems for at least 10 years. I was rushed to the hospital countless times and when EKG’s were done nothing would show. After a few times they started to show some change so my PCP called it stress and put me on xanax. It only got worse. I met and found a friend who is a cardiovascular doctor and started to see him. The countless EKG’s stress test, halter monitors, nuclear stress test would also show nothing.
