Avatar m tn In laymen terms exactly what is apicoectomy anterior, and is it imperative to address immediately in terms of health related issues.
Avatar m tn Recent stress test revealed mild inferior hypokinesis and a fixed inferobasal perfusion abnormality. Would like to know what these terms mean and their indications as related to heart disease.
Avatar n tn EF is the percentage of blood pumped with each heartbeat. Normal is 50 to 70%, and below 30% is considered heart failure range meaning the heart may not be able to effectively meet the systems demand for oxygenated blood. With reduced demand and a well compensated system 35% may or may not cause any symptoms. Hypertrophy of the left ventricle indicates an enlargement of the heart coincident with an increase in muscle mass; an indication of response to an increase in the heart's workload.
Avatar f tn Although SVT is generally not life-threatening in an otherwise normal heart, symptoms from the racing heart may feel quite uncomfortable. These arrhythmias are common in young people.
1504147 tn?1289519842 After 10 years of EJ of 45%, just received a 30% after heart cath. No heart attack and no blockages same as in the past. Very confusing. What is: "anterolateral and apical hypokinesis", "mitral regurgitation"? I am assuming "should have repeat assessment of her LV function" is talking about left ventricle function. If so, that makes no sense, how do you check half a heart.
Avatar f tn Many individuals following open heart surgery have a memory problem for about 6 months post operation. Open heart surgery puts the individual on heart and lung machine so the fibrosis is probably not an issue during the operation. The main problem with the heart is the valve orifice and that can be corrected without open heart surgery (sometimes). The aorta regurgitation can be the cause of shortness of breath as well as the pulmonary issue. What is the operation expectation.
Avatar n tn My husband had quad heart bypass surgery last August. He has never been quite the same person since, he is forgetful, and now is complaining of being depressed, eg vulnerable, not wanting to leave the house. It is not all the time but he is very miserable, needless to say he is on a cocktail of drugs. Do you think they contribute or not. He now has an incisional hernia, and has to have that repaired, and it is all getting to him. What can i do to help?
Avatar n tn Until the day God has set aside for you. A pacemaker will ensure your heart works to the correct rhythm and rate and you will live to your natural age of death. It is a fix. So dont start worrying about that because you will get stressed and become ill again. I wish you a good long and healthy life.

Avatar f tn I've had heart palpitations for 10 months, they started right after a hiatus hernia operation. I get them everyday. I get them at different times, while watching tv or just relaxing in bed, doing normal everyday things. I had blood work done and was told I was low on B12 and was told to take 1000 mcg of a supplement daily. While taking it the palpitations got stronger so I stopped taking it and they eased up.
Avatar m tn Having a past detachment increases your risk greatly of having another one in either eye. Intraocular surgery like cataract surgery also increases your risk in that eye. Have a "heart to heart" with your surgeon about the risks. If you need the cataract op to see, do it. I have done many such cases and have rarely had a problem. Also, have the retina checked. If there are any suspicious areas which may result in a hole, you might have them lasered in advance of the surgery.
Avatar f tn There has been a gallbladder operation and steatosis (also called a fat liver)..., fatty liver can be a temporary or long-term condition, which is not harmful itself, but may indicate some other type of problem. Neoplasm is an abnormal tissue growth... 9mm nodule size. Q: Moderately tortuous and ectatic aorta. >>>>>>>The aorta artery is the main artery that supplies blood from the heart to other parts of the body.
Avatar f tn in your body you actually have two different circulation paths. Right heart and left heart. So you can have issuens with just one side of your heart. Most probably due to high afterload in the pulmonary vasculature. Did you have a rhc?
Avatar f tn He said by doing this type of operation it will be much better in terms of healing ect. I have to do this operation within 8 weeks of the injury occurring or he said it isn't possible and I would have to have a different operation. I have been trying to research this style of operation but I can only find the option where it talks about using a graft from other body parts. So my question is.

1171817 tn?1281632180 Guy's I need to vent because I dont want to use pills! Life has been pretty rough the last 16 months. I have 81 days off the dope. Avatar n tn There is a mixed view on when to do a valve operation. The Mayo Clinic's renown heart surgery states publically that the biggest problem he see is that the patient waited too long. Waiting too long can require an operation when the left ventricle is enlarged and that condition would reduce the EF, and an operation subsequently the EF may never return to normal function.
Avatar m tn With children there is usually two operations, the second operation to account for the growth factor of a child.
Avatar m tn t exclude an iondividual from an operation. If that were the criterion as a basis for an operation, then heart surgery, etc. would be contraindicated. The doctor may have other reasons concomitant to a heart issue...you should ask! The best method for determining the best hospitals and medical is from a health professional in your country. You could contact the Cleveland Clinic by email for more information and may be they could help you.
