Common Questions and Answers about Heart operation soup diet

operation

Avatar m tn After 3 weeks you should be over any stomach problems but thats not to say it could be a continuing symptom..Seems odd though. Have you tried to eat some soup and sandwiches? I've promoted this before as I found it tolerable even though I had zero desire to eat during the first week and a half..Try some Progesso Vegetable soups and some grilled ham and cheese or toasted ham sandwiches..
Avatar f tn CalGal--thanks for shaing your knowledge. Good to know about the gastrin levels. There are no other pre-disposing factors that could contribute to these ulcers. I no longer smoke and alcohol 2x year. Stress is now said to have no association with ulcers so, that eliminates that. Was taken off Methotrexate as a precausion 2 months ago. As for diet, I continue to eat soft food diet.
1176496 tn?1263732218 In Bangkok, my Indian' friend has had a hard time of things the last 2 years. I believe he swallowed some glass which perforated the esophagus. He had 2 bad operations, then a 3rd one on Tuesday I think might just be OK. Several things are worrisome, however particularly his post-op diet. Sony's doctor' suggestions for what to eat post-op seem like utter madness to me. I think his primary concern is to protect whatever he used to close the hole in the esophagus.
Avatar f tn What's recommended is a healthy heart diet for people with hep C,I would add on to your list no fatty foods especially deep fried foods it's as bad as alcohol to your liver.Adding curcumin supplement with bioavailability wouldn't hurt.I am not familiar with end stage liver disease.I think your best bet to get a better answer would be posting your question in the cirrhosis forum. http://www.medhelp.
4031436 tn?1349148172 most cans of soup have about 800mgs per serving and ythat serving size is what you want to consider....a can of soup has TWO servings even though most people eat the whole can. My daughter and I spent several hours in the grocery store one day reading all of the lables from soups to cereals. Shocking! If it is low in calories like your diet frozen dinners........they have to add flavor somewhere......it's by adding salt. Lower calories is not indicative of low salt. Good news is....
Avatar m tn The diet was mainly rice, free range eggs, chicken, and chicken noodle soup (wheat noodles). By the way all natural homemade chicken soup works wonders for any type of stomach conditions.
Avatar f tn But this is more a full day meal in one
Avatar m tn As long as you are more or less having daily bowel movements, not to worry so much. But keep an eye on your temperature... if it goes up to, say, 102, go see a doctor as soon as possible or the ER, and let them check you out right away, because that is a sign of infection, which can really bring you down quick. I have a relative who had the same operation as you, and he did not have vomiting, so I'm a little concerned about your situation.
2053114 tn?1330451144 i was on my pain medicine nd some medicine for infections, and i was on anesthesia cuz of my operation but it had been a week after my operation. so idk.
Avatar f tn Yeah its not intentional dropping so low in cals, it just seems to be the way its worked out. I'm going to make a nice ham and lentil soup- loads of veggies in it. Its hard to believe this time 3 weeks ago i was consuming 3000 cals a day MINIMUM! and my diet was made up entirely of fat, sugar and refined carbs.
Avatar n tn If you do not get rid of the saturated fat in your diet (including the milk in that mushroom soup you eat) you will NEVER get stop your attacks. You don't have to eat fish or soy milk. They are just alternatives to the cow's milk and the meat. PS I have spent 10 hours over the last 3 days helping people on these forums. I will not be back to see your response. I'm signing off as I have no more time to give to this. Must go back to working at the hospital in the morning.
Avatar f tn Fatty food and everything associated with GERD was eliminated and fish and veg and soup became main staple diet. Vomitting continued 2 or 3 times a day and sometimes happened after drinking fluid. In Beginning of January a piece of meat was vomitted (meat hadn't been eaten since first week of Dec). By now soup was main staple of diet, literallly only 5 or 6 spoonfuls.Soup was the best option because it didn't make her choke when vomiting.
Avatar f tn to lose ten lbs fast try the sacred heart diet. Its a one week diet. Google it and you can see what its all about. Im trying it right now to start my weight loss and it gaurentees between 10-15lb weight loss after the first week if you dont cheat. So far im on the fifth day and Ive lost 5lbs but I also cheated. Maybe you have more will power than me. Honestly it works. However you need to enjoy soup. after the third day its usually easier to not eat than to eat more soup.
Tbd Secret salt, I call it. A can of tomatoes or a can of soup can be very high in sodium! To answer your question, 200 mg of salt a day is not too much. Actually the guideline from the American Heart Association is up to 2300 mg of salt a day! Now, that's the upper range of being 'okay' and you should check with your doctor for where they want you to be. If you have hypertension, they may want you intake to be lower than that. Have you ever heard of the DASH diet?
Avatar f tn What is the easiest way to get back into an exercise and dieting regiment, Without putting too much stress on the heart and body?
Avatar n tn i have taken diuretics and i urinate often but at night my feet and ankles swell up real bad and my toes hurt at times also. is there anything else i can do to prevent the pain and swelling? i mean,i have changed my diet and i am taking a bunch of pills, but my ejection fraction is still very low and i also have left ventricular hypertrophy and very high triglyceride levels. can congestive heart failure just go away?
Avatar f tn t want to go back in the next day to remove my gallbladder. Hence, the docs suggested a low-fat diet which was <5.0grams of fat in any given meal and it worked to thwart off any future attacks. But you need to talk with your doctor to see what is best for you. So sorry you are going thru this now. Steering clear of any fats (esp fried foods and cream sauces) worked for me.
Avatar f tn She had reportedly triple vessel diseases and her EF was as low as 23%.Doctors said that her heart was extremely weak and she would take more time that any other CABG patient. Recently she has developed some stomach problem in which case she is reporting lot of indigestion. Most of the times, anything she takes comes out in the form of vomit. She is also having a big time stool problem as sometimes she is not able to pass anything for 2-3 days.

Avatar f tn Although SVT is generally not life-threatening in an otherwise normal heart, symptoms from the racing heart may feel quite uncomfortable. These arrhythmias are common in young people.
Avatar n tn 08, I have done CT Angiogram scan and noted that there is 50-60% block in the first branch from the main artery from the heart, and another 30% block in a much smaller artery much futher. I have been taking Crestor and Cardiprin since Jan' 09. The cardiologist recommend that I perform an ballooning by inserting a stent at teh blockage. Is it necessary for me if teh blockage is less than 60%?

Avatar m tn I am not a doctor, but, the Autopsy MUST list a cause of death on it. Did he have a heart attack? Maybe some internal bleeding from surgery? Infection? If I were you I would DEMAND to find out what happened to him. read his chart, ask his dr for an answer. You deserve to know what happened to your father.
Avatar f tn Many individuals following open heart surgery have a memory problem for about 6 months post operation. Open heart surgery puts the individual on heart and lung machine so the fibrosis is probably not an issue during the operation. The main problem with the heart is the valve orifice and that can be corrected without open heart surgery (sometimes). The aorta regurgitation can be the cause of shortness of breath as well as the pulmonary issue. What is the operation expectation.
453277 tn?1205792376 He had an operation earlier this year to remove the tumor. But it seems now that the tumor grows up again. And he vomits everything he eats, including rice soup and becomes languid. What can be done to save him?
