operation

Avatar m tn s from Delhi are said its risky to go for stone operation since he also have a heart problem. Is there any hospital in India to do this type of operation.Kindly let me know ASAP. your early response will highly appreciated.
Avatar n tn There are benefits and problems with doing valve surgery, and benefits and problems with not doing the surgery. If you are in India, I might be able to assume that the heart suffers from rheumatic fever changes, but it is speculation. Without seeing the echo pictures, it is impossible to specualte or guess on what course of action would be the best for your mother. 60 is a young age for valve surgery (relatively speaking), so that should not be a problem.

We thought of taking 2nd opinion and every single renowned neurologist in India said that there is no need of this laser operation. So we refrained from this operation. Do you think there is any possibility of pinching of nerve causing all this problem.

Avatar f tn t know if any toric ICLs have been approved in India; there are some in Europe but none has been approved in the US yet. Unfortunately the astigmatism will still be there if you have a non-toric ICL implanted. 2. Incisions (called Limbal Relaxing Incisions or LRI) to relax your cornea and reduce the astigmatism. Might be done at the same time as the ICL was implanted. 3.

Avatar m tn By the description you gave it sounds like this young man had something called Obstructive Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy which means that the heart walls are too thick and in some people, the walls grow and cause obstructions in the heart. Sometimes surgery is done to get rid of that obstruction; it is called a myectomy. This is a serious surgery and a person can lose a lot of blood during this type of surgery.
Avatar n tn If you have seen several ophthalmologists in India and they have not been able to do anything for him it is very unlikely that traveling to any place else in the world would be helpful. Indian ophthalmologists are very skilled. There is not much new or encouraging about optic nerve damage repair.

Avatar m tn I'm curious, are you in India? If India has a problem with illegal operations, obviously all bets are off for everything, but you seem to be saying illegal operations are being performed in hospitals and by nurses, who have no training in performing an operation so why is that a concern?
1926971 tn?1682474897 s no reason to be cut up everywhere, except for commercial reasons. In any case if a bypass has to be done then certainly not in India after all the mess up out here in hospitals. Thanks again.
Avatar n tn A few years back I got my eyes examined to be cosidered for a Lasik refractive surgery from the biggest goverment hospital in India (as some of my friends with high myopia were deceived into Lasik surgery and are now in trouble.) Such practices are common in India. That is why I chose to consult doctors in AIIMS, and the doctors there rightfully informed me against Lasik as an option as my cornea lacked the required thickness.

Avatar f tn Hi.. My mother had discectomy operation in January 2010.. prior to the surgery, she had shooting pain in her right leg and numbness in her right foot and could barely walk and was on complete bed rest. MRI showed disc prolapse at L3-L4 level. after the discectomy operation, the shooting pain in her thigh and back disappeared. but the numbness in her right foot persists, and she even has pain in her right foot as she walks with each step.
Avatar n tn You still do not need to come to the USA for quality care. India should be fine. Work with ophthalmologists in your country to get your to the best person.
Avatar m tn Post surgery doctor recommended only 2 clycles of Carboplatin and Taxol(IV). IP is not common and advisable in India. Are 2 cycles post-surgery adequate or should she take more cycles? Is IP possible afterwards if cancer recurs sooner or later?
Avatar f tn Although SVT is generally not life-threatening in an otherwise normal heart, symptoms from the racing heart may feel quite uncomfortable. These arrhythmias are common in young people.
Avatar f tn Many individuals following open heart surgery have a memory problem for about 6 months post operation. Open heart surgery puts the individual on heart and lung machine so the fibrosis is probably not an issue during the operation. The main problem with the heart is the valve orifice and that can be corrected without open heart surgery (sometimes). The aorta regurgitation can be the cause of shortness of breath as well as the pulmonary issue. What is the operation expectation.
