Avatar f tn I took my 2 week old daughter to her 2 week check-up with her doctor and was told she had a heart murmur. The murmur was not picked up at the hospital. The murmur is only heard on the left side, but can be heard from the back and side as well and they said it was loud. The doctor also said that it was only heard on the systolic cycle. She has never been blue in her lips, she has a pulse in the femoral arteries and she eats fine.
Avatar n tn My son has a murmur he is 4. my older son had a murmur also. with my older one I never knew he had a murmur until 2 years ago when his doctor said it was gone. (he is now 9) the base your murmur on a grade scale. Dr. H never told me what dillan's murmur was. When my youngest was born his wasa grade 6/6 meaning it was very loud. I could put my ear on his chest and hear the "sound" it was weird. almost like a ultrasound they do when your pregnant. a swooshing sound.
Avatar f tn Had a blood test, chest x ray and stethoscope examination. Everything came out great, except the doctor found an innocent heart murmur. Admittedly I was worried at the time. I was worried about the murmur part, but felt better when I found on the net that innocent means harmless. I had a ecocardigram anyway. The test came out great, I think the murmur had gone as well. I'm suffering from stress, and have been thinking about my heart rate a lot. I feel these strange heart beats.
Avatar n tn I've had a murmur for decades and never experienced any heart pain.
1661682 tn?1313135396 I found out after I had my little girl I have a heart murmur. We didnt no this when I was pregnant before so it was left alone but I've experienced really bad palpitations in this pregnancy it seems to be getting worse. My brother has hypotrophic cardio miopathy (enlargement of the heart wall) meaning he had to have open heart surgery so they are keeping an eye on me incase mine goes the same way but I'm worried having this murmur will, cause problems in labour. What do you guys think.
Avatar f tn I have open heart 4 years ago they replaced 5 arteries I went for my yearly check up and now have a heart murmur is this normal to get so long after surgery and can the murmur be why I am sleepy all the time
Avatar f tn My doctor found the heart murmur though the stethoscope and I have to get an echocardiogram done to makem sure it doesn't become serious.
Avatar f tn Most murmurs can only be heard with the assistance of a stethoscope. A murmur may be heard in a normal heart, and may not necessarily caused by a structural defect in the heart itself. Murmurs may also be the result of various problems, such as narrowing or leaking of valves, or the presence of passages between chambers of the heart. Elevated blood pressure may not be related to the murmur.
Avatar n tn I recently had a pre-op physical and the Dr. not my normal Dr. picked up a heart murmur. I have had a history of SVT and on Atenalol.
Avatar n tn No, it's not bad news. It's good news that this was found and that you can get it checked out. A lot of people have heart murmurs that are considered "benign;" in other words the heart murmur doesn't mean anything and won't hurt the person. The reason for you to see a cardiologist is to make sure that's all it is. Probably you will go once and not need to go back.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure Why you werent giving her The ANtibiotics for several days Prior to the extractions It sounds to me That The Dentist did What they felt was ok after the fact... Avatar n tn hi, im 24 and recently found out i have a systolic heart murmur. i know what a heart murmur is, but im not really sure what it means for me. is it something i should worry about? iv had an ecg done and i havnt got the results yet but i think it looked like it was reg sinus rhythm.
1303813 tn?1303159362 Well first I don't understand how seeing a doctor would result in loss of employment, or for that matter that the employer would even know - don't tell. There is really nothing you can do that is better than get your partner in to see a doctor. You are listed as in the UK, so medical care is provided by your government, right? Thus, the cost should not be a consideration if one is looking for reasons not to do the correct thing. You mention murmur, and I wonder how that is known.
Avatar f tn Could my baby be born with heart problems I was born with a hole in my heart and I have heart murmur my hole closed but I still have heart murmur I sometimes pass out when my rthym changes so my doctors worried when I give birth I might pass out should I be worried.???!!!!
Avatar f tn I don't know what they mean by abnormal QRS based on the settings in the machine? An abnormal QRS could have many underlying causes including heart block. Also, the murmur is a sound, but the severity of the murmur isn't listed. You don't say if you have any symptoms. You are dealing with the weight issue, but the stress is just as high in risk.
Avatar n tn Well, yestertday my son stayed after school to get his sports physical and during that time we were told that the doctor hear a heart murmur. Now this makes me feel like a awful parent because during fall ball Andrew complained of a chestpain and said he just felt different. I just thought he maybe over worked himself and gave him some cold water and told him to take a break. He has never complained of anything else but I still feel awful. How common are these heart murmurs?
Avatar n tn What this tells me, is that the heart murmur must be very very slight. And, with a slight murmur in both of the babies, it is very likely to be a genetic thing. If only one of the babies had a heart murmur, I would think there was an abnormality that should be looked into. I, personally, if they were mine, I wouldn't even worry about it especially if they were playing and eating normally. There are people that are born with heart murmurs, too.
Avatar n tn I had a chihuhahua that had a heart murmur for 10 years died at the age of 17 due to old age and other problems not heart.
806962 tn?1238178947 a heart murmur from the younger days can stay for a while, so you have been experiencing heart problems? like what exactly? have you seen a doctor?
Avatar m tn I only know he had an ear infection and the vet found a muffled sound coming from his heart on examination, The vet told me it was a heart murmur, he also gave him water tablets to remove the fluid from his chest and lungs 3 weeks ago I was told his heart was much better, the dog himself is clinically
Avatar f tn I have a slight heart murmur that I was diagnosed with at birth. I just wanted to know if it could affect me in any way?
Avatar f tn I have a 9 week old kitten which has been diagnosed with a heart murmur (grade 2). The vet is suggesting that it is a very uncommon condition but I have heard that sometimes they can be caused by real problems eg congenital defect or just because the kitten is stressed going to the vets and the vet is hearing turbulence in the blood going through the heart, as the heart is so small. I also read that they can self heal after time ( a few weeks).
Avatar f tn I posted on this site a few weeks ago when at pre-op assessment for shoulder surgery I was told I have a heart murmur and have to have an echocardiogram to eliminate the possibility of murmur being caused by leaky heart valve before they will operate I also have paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation. Today on a visit to my own doctor I asked her to check my heart out.
Avatar f tn Yes it can. Anxiety induced heart murmur is normal and tend to be innocent. Heart murmur occurs when blood runs faster through the heart, like when you're anxious, after excersise, fever or severe anemia. But you should also let it checked because heart murmur can be a sign of significant heart disease, but it's really less like for you since it's very uncommon for young people to have it.
Avatar m tn I have a double heart murmur.
