Avatar f tn I'm not a full vegetarian so I get protien from dairy. Beans good source. Nuts too. About 10 yrs ago I started eating fish too. So now I don't eat meat like chicken beef or pork. I eat a lot of vegetable soup to maintain/ lose weight. Plus drink tons of water. That helps food cravings.

Avatar f tn Soup will not give you the nutrition you need to keep yourself healthy. Eating a cup of soup before a meal will help you eat less during the meal, as will eating a small apple, drinking a glass of water or vegetable juice. Losing weight "immediately" is nearly impossible, so just start on a good healthy diet and stick with it. It will take longer to lose the weight, but you'll do it in a healthy manner.
Avatar n tn There are lots of other sources of protein , what about beans and legumes maybe suggest to her that at least she gets more healthy food going, how about fish ,as she is his mom unless you can talk her into giving him a more balanced diet not certain how much you can help him,there are books out there and she could do some research about mad cow .

Avatar f tn Nuts. High in protein and fiber, and although expensive by the pound you don't need very many at a time. There are a million foods made out of soy and other legumes, high in protein. Bananas -- lots of energy, high in electrolytes. Seeds -- hemp seeds most complete vegetable protein, even more complete than soy. Whole grain pasta -- you can get it made out of brown rice, spelt, kamut, amaranth, even with protein added from legumes. There's a world of food out there.
Avatar f tn My husband and I both need to eat more vegetables. He likes his raw but mostly just carrots and brocolli. I like mine mostly cooked. I just learned how much a serving size is. Wow. So we might get about half of what we should in a day. He's not as vegetable adventurous as I am so that makes new ideas difficult. Avatar m tn I every so often, maybe about 1-2 times a week, get a strange sensation like my heart is fluttering or is gonna stop. This is followed by weakness, dizziness, and a strange feeling on my face, like tingling. The anxiety started last year when I had a bad stomach flu in February 2008 and had to go to the ER by myself (first time ever in my life going to the ER) after 4 days of straight diarrhea. I live alone and have no family and almost no friends and I believe this has caused all this.

Avatar n tn t go vegan for health purposes -- they do it in pursuance of a belief system. Some people are not suited to be vegan or vegetarian, and some are ideally suited for it. As with most things regarding health, it's a very individual thing. When they took the Plains Indians and converted them to mostly plant eating (they had been mostly animal eating) they developed a lot of heart disease and diabetes, and still suffer from that. People aren't the same. Okay.

We want so much to get back to that healthy feeling we had back then. So this year, I'm just looking and planning my menu. I know we will have to have my world famous Grape Nuts "Meetloaf", and skinny mashed potatoes, but the rest is up for grabs.
Avatar n tn Hey there. I have a very overweight friend. Guess what happened when she got pregnant? She lost a bit of weight. :>)) That's really common. Because you burn more calories when pregnant. You don't need to eat any more in terms of quantity or calories --- but have a pregnancy going which burns more. Make sure you get lots of protein when vegan/vegetarian and you should be good. Keep exercising and yes, don't diet. Just don't increase how much you eat.

1018329 tn?1448980165 I'm 18w2d. I walk about 2-3hrs a day or more. No arm workout until I'm about 20w with light weights. I'm going to start doing light yoga in 21w. I eat health too. Drink lots of water or fresh bone or vegetable soup. :-) No junk food, candy & no by products. Good luck. :-D and Congrats..

The vegetable taste a little wrong.I thrown it into the garbage box. But soup and meat,they touch the red vegetable and i eat a few . soup no visible blood I'm sure but the meat is dark so i can't pay attention to, if there is blood in the meat. I happen to have oral ulcers and bleeding will be infected with HIV?

Whatever effects this will have on your kids won't be noticed until they're older -- young people are very adaptable. There are certain nutrients, such as B12 and methionine, which are very difficult to get on a vegetarian diet. Now, in India, vegetarians aren't really vegetarians at all, they eat a fair amount of dairy.
