Testing of the heart isn't usually done by blood tests, you also would usually need stress tests and such. But I'm guessing your doctor doesn't see any symptoms of it. Nobody can ever guarantee they've correctly diagnosed you -- certainty just doesn't exist in this world, and especially not in medicine.

I had blood tests done and one of them has to be sent to Virginia. I live in Pa. Why is this?

In addition, I was in the hospital last Friday with pvcs/palpitations. The ECG looked fine otherwise and so did the blood tests. They sent me home knowing that my immediate death wasn't imminent. Following the weekend, I saw my cardiologist who said we will redo the tests ( unfortunately they aren't schedules for about a month) and that I'm fine and have nothing to worry about, relax and take 250 mg magnesium, pvcs are common and I won't die from them.

I was just wondering how much blood tests cost and where you can get them. All of my hpt are bfn's! I haven't gotten my period since August 25th and it is now Oct 13th.

i have been suffering from dizziness since a long time i went to alot of doctors no one could tell me the reason i feel cold and sometimes my hands is sweat i feel sometimes burn in my chest i did echo on the heart and ecg upon the heart and blood tests they found no reason , i sometimes feel heaviness in my hand and leg and my tongue

i keep getting tightening in my upper chest with slight pain , bottom of my neck could it be a heart attack?

It has been recommended on the message boards that I ask for additional tests other than TSH. Could you tell me what tests to ask for - T3? T4? I don't know much about all of these since I never had any complaints when I went for my annual physical.

Hello All, was just wondering if I need to be fasting to take my blood tests, I need to do them now , doctor wants me to do TSH to see if I need to increase my meds. I think I saw somewhere that you don't need to be fasting, I do know you say I have to take T$ and T3 blood test as well, which I will take also . Thank you for your great support .

Are you being treated with blood pressure meds? Did they say your heart was alright? Please let us know what tests you've had done so we can better help you.

If your hbp is secondary to heart vessel disease, a stress test would be appropriate and/or echocardiogram to determine if there has been any enlargement of the heart and if there is any heart wall movement impairment.. Some of your symptoms may be related to your medication or a heart condition, and you would need more tests to do a differential diagnostic. Speak to your doctor. Did they specifically check your iron and vitamin levels? Many times Drs will only check for infections unless you ask for specific blood tests. Another thing I'm thinking of because of your symptoms is Mononucleosis. It's can last for months and months and cause the symptoms you're having. Do you know if your Dr checked you for that?

Mine focuses around heart as well despite NUMEROUS tests. My father died at 40 from a massive heart attack and he had already had a triple bypass and 2 other heart attacks in his early thirties. Add me having very scary experiences with super dangerous high blood pressure after delivering my children(its normal now) and a low HDL level and I worry all the time.

Your uncle probably had a heart attack due ischemia (lack of blood flow) caused by a partially blocked vessel(s). Angioplasty is a procedure to implant a stent that opens the blocked vessel(s). There are no specific risks now that the blocked vessel is opened. Your uncle should be on medciation that reduces the heart's workload by dilating vessels. Did the heart atttack cause any serious heart cell damage, that would be the deciding factor regarding prognosis?

If this was done via blood testing, I think they simply check bicarbonate levels. The levels can vary between different labs and their normal range can be different too. If the rest of the blood tests were fine, then this won't be pointing to a problem such as low electrolyte levels or kiidney issues.

was just wondering if there are any heart tests that can check out my valves and other areas cause i been told that my echo didnt cover other areas, so im thinking my pains could be coming from a blocked valve or artery. i have been suffering with bad symptoms again lately and my next door neighbour is only 63 he had a massive heart attack and triple bypass even though he was pretty healthy other than diabetes so im worrying i have something blocked or wrong in other heart area.

t seem to let go of the idea that my there is something wrong with my heart. My flutters/skipped beats have never showed up on any tests. Blood work has always been good, Blood Pressure is 110/68, cholesterol is good. My Dr. tries to assure me that I'm fine. Should I be worried about my heart? PVCs? Heart inflammation? Please help...thank you in advance!!
