Avatar n tn Your symptoms will be shortness of breath, pulmonary edema (fluids in the lungs...congested heart failure), possibly chest pains. With congested heart failure, there will be a dry cough, hyperventilation, fast heart rate, etc. At this time you would be required to have emergency care to reduce the fluids in your lungs, treat any vessel occlusions, stabilize oxygen level, etc. Or with a hypertrophic heart there can be an abnormal heart rhythm.....
Avatar m tn Those aren't the signs of ecstasy and certainly after a period of 2 months, the drug would be completely out of your system. I would go and have some blood tests to see what is going on.

Is it a pound? A pound is too much for a day. Most people with heart failure have to go to the hospital every now and then to get an IV of Lasix to get the water off. The question is currently how are his kidneys functioning? If his kidneys are not functioning appropriately, the fluid will not all come off.

Avatar n tn Sadly to say heart disease runs in the family and if both your parents had CHF you should be keeping a close eye on your heart. Stress test, Echocardiograms especially with the heart murmur. If you are a woman, the signs of a heart attack are different than men. Signs to look for are indigestion, dizziness, nausea or vomiting, weakness, fatigue, pain between shoulder blades, chest discomfort, shortness of breath. Sometimes the only sign is shortness of breath.
Avatar n tn I have had a mitral valve replaced, I have congestive heart failure, leaking tricuspid and aortic valves, coronary artery disease, COPD, diabetes and neuropathy in my hands and feet. Avatar f tn apparently has been treating her for some time for congestive heart failure but just only told her this last week she had the disease. She does have bronchitis right now and possibly pnemonia. What stage would she be in? The doctor will not return my phone calls nor my sisters to give us answers. Do we need to be concerned with time? I live very far away from my mother and haven't seen her for over two years.
3117443 tn?1341948135 Hi, I am sorry to hear about Pita. It sounds like she is in good hands though. You are certainly doing everything you can to help her. Now, as far as adding supplements to Pita's routine, Please check out the following website. www.DogAware.com Go to the Health section.....Scroll down to Kidney Disease....
Avatar f tn The fact that they took your child off the Lasix and Digoxin is a very good sign, especially if he is gaining weight, albeit slowly, without it. And without signs of heart failure like sweating or tachypnea, those are also good signs that he's fine to wait. While a VSD repair is probably one of the easiest OHS repairs, there are still very real risks, and if your son is in a stable state, then he is far better off postponing surgery.

Avatar f tn I told my specialist and he ordered a blood test which came back as double normal value for heart failure. He ordered an echo to see if my EF was normal or low to determine what kind of treatment I can have. I left hospital before the echo results were given to my Doc so I have to wait until my next appt in three weeks time.
Avatar n tn Could all these symptoms be signs of her going into kidney failure? When we took her to the vet the morning she started walking in circles, they said without testing her (which I did not want to put her through because of the severity of her symptoms), but they thought it could be liver failure or some sort of nervous system disorder....needless to say, they never said anything about kidney failure. We have a friend who just recently had a male dalmation who started the same signs...
Avatar f tn Kay: i have those fleeting sensations in the lower jaw, and have this for many years now, since the contrast dye. So, no, it is angina, and not a heart attack, unless, I had thousands of heart attacks. The question here is, are those symptoms more typical of angina or heart failure. I don't have severe heart failure, as shown by tests, if one is to rely on tests. As for angina, the symptoms are typical and can be atttributed to many things, not only heard disease.

His energy level has picked up. He can walk a few blocks now . A week ago he was falling over He looks interested in food but turns his head away.
Avatar m tn May I ask why he's not going to the doctor? My Dad had severe heart failure, the result of 4 heart attacks. He had an ICD put in to help keep the heart rhythm steady and out of ventricular problems. He also took various heart meds. He wasn't a bundle of energy but he was able to get around. He did pass away a few weeks ago but it was from cancer. Your hubby doesn't need to sit back and wait for his heart to give out.
