Avatar m tn I can watch those its the o ones I hate to watch when withdrawin.... I dealt with dts from some binges on alcohol I wnet on and I can't tolerate any alcohol at all in my body anymore it gets me sick as soon as I drink and then I have to wake up with the shakes looking for more soI can just stay abstinent from that. Its like alcohol wont allow me to drink that long before my body starts to reject it very fast. Strange huh??
255722 tn?1452546541 I about fell out of my chair laughing at that one. Then they go on to say that they are going to do open heart surgery to "repair the valve" and this will cure him of all ills. He decides he's going to leave the hospital first to attend his wedding, and the doc says, "I'm gonna prescribe you a beta blocker and you have to promise to come back first thing tomorrow." Then the guy stands up and has a heart attack....right then, right there.. out of the blue.
Avatar f tn I've been taking panic attacks for the last week or so and went to the doctor telling her I had been having bad heart palpitations and pains in my chest and she is referring me to a heart palpitation specialist but she gave me propranolol because she thinks it may be anxiety, but I'm lying in my bed just watching TV and my heart rate is 51 - 60 roughly bpm, is this too low should I be worried I'm such a panicked and I would just like someone to try and put my mind at rest :(???
Avatar f tn Hi my name is Jodi. I have been having heart flutters or pounding. It has been 6 days now and it is not all nostop but it is everyday. When I get up and move around it stops and when I sit down it starts again but some days I don't have it at all. I do have panic attacks some bad, some not, but I get panic when the Dr. wants to change my meds and then I went for an e.k.g. and was panicing . I'm so scared that I need sugery on my heart, thats all I can think about.
Avatar f tn Get on with your life :) Your heart is fine. First, lots of weird things happen in the moment between being awake and asleep. Your body and some parts of the brain "shut down" before the rest, and during this time, you may feel paralyzed or actually hallucinate, without having psychosis or any other psychiatric disorder. Stress is making this more noticeable, because your brain don't want you to lose control and go to sleep (you have some sort of hyperawareness).
Avatar n tn t remember something I saw on TV or read, I begin to go into a PANIC attack. I have to write things down in a tablet that I think are of interest to me later. If I later can't remember what it was that I wanted to tell my spouse, I would have a Panic attack unless I wrote it down. The PANIC attacks do go away after 5-10mins. but they are very intense at the time. My brain can't think of anything but what it was I wanted to remember. The more I try to remember, the worse it gets.
1319752 tn?1274426091 Im awake almost everynight till 3am because I have to watch tv and relax. I think Im secretly afraid of my heart popping out of my chest again, and Im always up late looking on these medical websites for heart attack and stroke symptoms. Its not impossible for a 24 yr old woman to have those issues. Im paranoid I guess. But like right now....I feel a heaviness, Im taking deeper breaths, and my head is kind of off (not a headache, not dizziness) just an abnormal feeling.
Avatar m tn I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.
Avatar f tn Keep in mind, however, that the tv portrayal of a heart attack happens in less than 10% of those that have one. Look out if you experience nausea, cold sweats, pain in jaw, pain that radaiates into the back or down one or both arms along with chest pressure.....it can also feel like indigestion or gas.....normally these symptoms don't go away with rest and last longer than 5-10 minutes.
Avatar m tn Then my friend offered me a shot of cheap vodka and I drank it. I felt weird 5 minutes afterwards. Something funny came on the TV and I laughed which triggered a massive shock through my body. All of a sudden my heart started racing extremely fast, hands and palms were sweaty, my breathing was labored, my chest hurt, chest had pressure, and I started panicing. All of a sudden my heart kept slowing down, then speeding back up( and repeat).
Avatar n tn The strangest thing about my heart attacks is that the pain was not what you see on TV. I put off going to the ER for 3 days with the first heart attack I had. I just wasn't feeling that bad. I wasn't feeling good and thought something was wrong, but a heart attack didn't register with me. It's a good idea to pay attention to the symptoms you have no matter how mild they might be.
Avatar f tn I have started having heart irregular palpitations shortly after I fall asleep at night. About 3 months ago I lied down and was watching TV when my heart felt like it was going to stop beating. I could feel it pound and expand in my chest almost like a huge muscle spasm. It scared me and I was almost afraid to fall asleep. After I lied there a few minutes I fell asleep only to wake up to a racing heart.
Avatar f tn I get these attacks randomly. Sometimes it's after I eat and sometimes it's not. i get really warm, my heart races, I hypervenlate, I have to go to the bathroom (it's like everything goes through my system), I feel like I'm going to puke, I shake uncontrollably, my hands are freezing but I'm sweating. I have gone to get this checked out many times but they just keep telling me I'm anxious.i just don't believe that I am anxious watching TV or eating a bowl of fruit.
Avatar f tn They were very vivid and real feeling to the point where I was afraid to sleep at night and if I did all the lights were on including the tv. I would be trapped in these nightmares and unable to wake up, along with experiencing sleep paralysis. I would know in my sleep when I was about to have one because I would be having a normal dream and then my chest would tighten and I would get an awful feeling and try to wake myself up.
Avatar m tn It does not sound like depersonalization it sound just like your having an anxiety attack but it could be that. You may want to talk to your doctor about these feelings. You should do some more research on it first.
1352892 tn?1338217905 At first I thought I was having a heart attack but after going to the ER and hooked to a Holter Monitor for 48 hrs, they said my heart was fine I was having panic attacks. They usually start from out of nowhere and they come on when the body has to much stress and if your not exercising like I don't then the over load of stress brings on the anxiety. Best thing is try to relax, take time out for yourself and seek help so they don't get worse!!
Avatar f tn I recently had been having panic attacks every night since a surgery I had, and the xanax wasn't working as well for them, so the doctor put me on Atenolol to keep my heart from racing, and said after a while the panic attacks would stop and I could go off it. I've never had to be on anything for them constantly, so I didn't want to now either. Now each night when I would normally get a panic attack I feel a heavy feeling in my chest.
1486435 tn?1316470899 I was told that the BIG Yellowy brown Perscription prenatal vitamins were causing lots of problems, like strokes and heart attacks. I havent been taking mine because of this and plan to talk with my Doc about it Wednesday. I've been taking multi-vitamins. Anyway has anyone else heard anything about this???
1450085 tn?1298941702 my anxiety seems to be mild to non existent when im around people, even if im just by my friends and we are doing nothing but watching tv, but the minute i go back to my apartment (i live alone) the anxiety kicks in almost immediately like clockwork.
Avatar m tn I know exactly how you feel! I'm glad you found this place too, I just found it today! I have panic attacks & ended up in the ER twice within 3 days 5 years ago. Finally the ER nurse identified that I was having panic attacks & called my doc herself to get me Xanax because the medication they prescribed me the day before would take atleast 1-2 weeks to work!
Avatar f tn I have learned that MSG (food additive) can cause panic/anxiety attacks, heart palpitations, tightness in chest, shallow breathing. Feeling like this is just so awful. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
446896 tn?1237802742 It could just be that getting up and moving around is taking you mind off of your heart rate. Distraction is a great tool for anxiety and panic attacks. Maybe get checked by a Dr but if you have a history of anxiety chances are that that's what it is. Keep yourself busy... I can't recommend that enough...
Avatar f tn It sounds more like asthma or allergies or a sleep disorder such as apnea. Panic attacks come from the fear of something, like getting on an airplane or going into an enclosed space. Once you start getting them, then you can get one by experiencing symptoms that feel like those you had when you had the first panic attacks, such as feeling dizzy or disoriented from drinking alcohol.
Avatar n tn I have palpitations and fatigue and dizziness when standing up, panic attacks.....etc. Recently I have had episodes of rapid heartbeat with skipped beats right after stopping activity. Is this something that is normal with MVP/MVPS? I have done holters and event monitors had two echo in the last year, I had a stress test about 3 years ago and am scared to death to do another one. I am afraid to move almost because I am afraid of dying.

(see my HIV post) Recently, at night I have sudden attacks of dizzyness, feeling sometimes sick for a few seconds, like i'm going to pass out? This usually happens when I am concentrating, looking at the computer or tv . I don't know whats going on, my heart beats really fast . I saw doc today, she put it down to anxiety. I'm not sure. Is this familier with anyone?
