I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.
My heart was racing, heart palpatations, sick to stomach, hot flashes, trembleing, etc. Took a Xanax right away. Thank God for those! I've been under a lot of stress with on & off attacks since Wednesday. I'm explaining all of this just to let you know I understand what you're going through & you are certainly not alone.
He has recently landed back in the hospital with minor heart attacks. He has been having pain ever since the bypass and has to take a nitro pill to ease it. His Dr did a heart cath yesterday and it shows no signs of blockage. They are currently doing blood test, but have no answer as to why he is still having so much pain and pressure. My question is: If there is no blockage, could the heart have been damaged permanently and can something be done to help it and stop the attacks?
The only way to tell what her heart is doing is for her to wear a heart monitor that can record the event when it happens. However, because it happens so rarely, it will be difficult to "catch" the problem. Still, she should go in to have a heart check up and see if everything else is OK in there. There may be some small electrical problems that she's not feeling and they can see them then. Hope she gets some help and answers soon.
all of my grandpaws family died of massive heart attacks. and i dont want that to happen to me. well i u kno how if u have a heart attack, thta means that one of your arteries ahve ben bolcked and blood cannot pump to your heart? well i believe that if the arteries that pump blood to your body get clogged up, then your blood starts to build up in your heart and eventually it gets to be too much and your heart explodes. killing you and your family at the same time. and your friends.
I've never had a panic attack but from what I've read, it's quite normal for the heart rate to increase during one. The closest thing I can compare it to is driving along, almost getting hit by another car. Talk about panic. And what happens? Your heart rate increases. So that's quite normal.
I have PSVT so my heart rate jumps from 65 to 195 in a heart beat and races along for awhile. Then drops back to normal again in a heart beat.

With my panic attacks comes heart palpitations but they always come and go with the attacks. I am a 29 year old male and live a pretty lazy lifestyle. 5 days ago I started having palpitations everyday all day. I have been to the hospital and they caught some on an ECG. I will be getting my holter tomorrow. I am just worried that I will drop dead. Is this possible? Can my heart just stop? I am not dizzy or sweating (except from the gd heat!) Should I write my will?
You might want to put your post on the heart forum as well as anxiety. Most of us here won't know anything about heart questions.
Did you ask him about changing your meds? Have you been on others that did or didn't work before?
I had a heart attack in 2009 at 35 years old and since then I have this panic attacks. I went to the doctors so many times incase it was my heart but my heart seems to be working well and that is not it. I am constantly thinking the worse. I have a heavy head feeling loss of balance and dizzyness you name it it is there. I am willing to talk to anyone about this. Sometimes it helps to hear others who have the same problem kind of makes you feel like you are not nuts.
woman do not have chest pains with heart attacks all the time, I would not play around with that . she needs to be checked.
if its not her heart than ok but better safe than sorry. it could be anxiety attacks/stress but you wont know till you have seen a cardio dr and had a few test ran. please take her to be checked out. here to talk .
I have a friend of mine having some health issues. Now he's been known to manipulate people so it's hard to know when there's something really going on with him. Anyway, he says he's had so far 4 heart attacks within about a month's time, the first two he didn't go to the hospital for but recovered.
I have a history with panic attacks since I was 16 and still experience them from time to time, but they are completely situational, and I usually prophylax with xanax as needed. Over the years I have seen some MSW's for therapy but they don't ever seem to help resolve the problem.
My main problem is that the more I learn about medicine, the more I become afraid that any symptom I have may be something of a severe disease.
My son has been a fairly healthy 22 year old. In the past 2 years he has experienced what we think are panic attacks. He has always been prone to anxiety. In these so called panic attacks he experiences a racing heart, fast breathing, nauseated and a sensation of not being "with his body". He feels like he is going to pass out and also feels he is going to die. He does not have medical insurance (Echo's are $1600).
Yes omg yes! My heart start racing my body start to shake i feel like having a heart attack. Almost went to er early on bc i thought i was. And sorry to say you just gotta ride it out. Main thing that worked was the coldest cup of water and drinking it slowly taking deep breaths inbetween. A long shower, which sometimes got me anxious, but mainly going out for a walk in fresh air, usually to get a treat like ice cream.
