I replied to the other post you had up asking for your age (guess it was deleted). At 25 I would say you are pretty safe from a heart attack. Not saying it dosn't happen to young people but it is pretty rare and usually only from drug use or congenital probelms.
You also post you have shortness of breath. On the other post I advised you should probably see the doctor if that is new to you as it is easy to get pneumonia since you probably have not been taking deep breaths.
My struggle with your post is the percentages that are stated. Yes, it is true that 65% of males don't have symptoms before a heart attack, but what you don't know is what state their health was in before the heart attack. You don't know if they were smokers, had high BP, high cholesterol, family histories or what. They may have been heart attacks waiting to happen.
This one i know for sure....especially in males....when the fetus is in the womb and it is a male the heart actually begins developing on the left side of the neck as a fetus and then drops down into position as the fetus grows..thus the reasoning behind males having pain on the left side of the body during a heart attack, angina, etc.
Unfortunately there is no single test (or battery of tests) that can predict who will have a heart attack. Risk factors for having heart disease include the following: age (males >45, women > 55), history of diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, family history of heart disease (first degree relative < 55 (males) or < 65 (females).
My mother died at age 66 of a massive heart attack. Is it possible that this episode is a symptom of heart disease or a pre curser to a heart attack?
I should also mention that during rest I felt fine. When I was up moving around or moving my left arm is when I felt the pain. Also during the beginning of the attack it was very hard to take a deep breath. This would make the pain worse.
If this was a heart attack or a symptom of one what steps should I take now that I am feeling ok?
I'm a 14 year old guy. I've been having heart attack symptoms for days. A dull pain in the front of my left shoulder and dull squeezing pain in my left bicep (happens separately most of the time). I also have a lighter dull pain on the left side of my neck. I have some chest pain a little to the left of the center, more caused by squeezing my arms together and flexing my pecs.
The left side of my body (including face and ear muscles) have a "weak" sensation.
As everybody gets vague pains in and around heart some time or other , many will have fear that these pains related to an impending heart attack. For the benefit of our Forum, I request your good selves to please give detailed pain symptoms which are related to heart and pain symptoms which are not related to heart. It will be of great help to the forum and they can avoid unnecessary panic and fear about their heart working condition.
I am a 47 year old female, family history of heart attack. I have been on bp meds for 5 years. I have not been feeling well for a few months. My BP fluctuates - it is better after taking my bp med Lysoprine. Last night I had a spell and my legs were shaky, clammy, sweaty, and nauseous. then I yawned uncontrollably for 10-15 minutes. My neck became sore and stiff. The feeling passed, but a Blood pressure check a couple of hours later revealed 180/109. I checked it 3 times.
I'm not a doctor, but I understand people can be having a heart attack and still have a normal or near normal blood pressure. Heart attacks in women don't always include the same/typical symptoms as they do in men. Also, it's fairly common in women that symptoms of a heart attack come and go--so just because the clear up doesn't mean you're not having a heart attack.
Better safe than sorry, right? I would seek medical attention immediately. First, take a 325 mg.
Yes, it is possible to have had a silent heart attack. Symptoms would be shortness of breath, chest pains, etc. These symptoms would be the result of a low cardiac output caused by impaired and damaged heart walls because of the heart attack. I had a silent heart attack about 7 years ago. You shouldn't be overly concerned about the results of an EKG.

This can be a very serious condition and lots of times can go undetected. Please ask them to check for heart murmurs if he is already out the oven. This affects 1 in 800 babies world wide. No specific reason, ethnic group, ect. We didn't have a positive experience from it, and I'm trying to help anyone I can from my experience..
My grandpa died from a heart attack at 45. All 16 of his brothers and sisters had open heart surgery. My grandma, his wife, had a heart attack and had a tripple by pass. My mothers cholesterol was 450 when she was 22. My cholesterol is 160. What can i do to decrease my odds of these things? any information will be appreciated.
Recently had a EKG (actually two) and it suggested a prior mild heart attack. I am scheduled by my cardiologist for a nuclear stress test. I was questioned about any chest pains and could remember none. However, I do remember that my dentist a number of yrs. ago, injected novocaine and I had a terrible reaction, shakiness , flushed and having a difficult time breathing. The doctor said sometime the injection will go straight into my blood system and cause this .
Hi, im an 18 year old female I weigh about 160, my mother & sister has high blood pressure, other than that no family heart issues/attacks. For the past 4 days my left arm (upper) and my left coller bone has been aching, I wouldn't say pain.. its more like pulling a muscle feeling and also my left side of my neck, it can really feel it if I lean forward.
