A man beside me told me that he had had a heart attack a week ago. He said that the only pain he felt was in his left arm. He also had some numbness in his arm. He went to the ER. They rushed him into the cath lab and placed a stent in one of his coronary arteries. He saved himself any real damage to the muscle of the heart, by acting on his instinct. He looked just fine to have had a heart attack a week before.

My question about this is, how can this be a heart attack? Do heart attacks "go away" on their own??? I didn't think that was possible.

I failed to mention, the M.S. hug can also be confused with heart attack symptoms. Some describe it as very similar. My experience is I do get afraid when pain first hits, I think heart attack.. Then I soon realize it is my usual hug pain..

Hi Jack, Tanglewood is correct. All chest pain should be considered cardiac (heart) relate at any age until it is proven otherwise. That said there are multiple reasons you could have experienced that pain. At 17 I assume you live with your parents or at the very least an adult of legal age. Be sure to tell them about your pain. Sometimes a gastrointestinal issue will cause the kind of pain you described. It is imperative that you see your PCP asap.

UPDATE: I went to see my cardiologist this past Monday after wearing a monitor for a few weeks. I previously had a Nuclear EKG and a bunch of other Chemical Alli tests done on me. Nothing showed until I went in for a briefing of my monitor results. I was told that she did not like the readings that were being given off and the jaw pain worried her. She recommended that I get a 'Cath job' done and set up the whole process for the following Tuesday morning.

I did some research and found an anxiety attack, can mimick a heart attack,is the intense pain in the chest that lends itself to a heart attack.it is as if a vise is closing around the chest. The other symptoms are pain in the left arm and pain even in the neck area to raised pulse, sweating and dizziness these all can be an anxiety attack as well. it must be from liver then because i dont have my gallbladder,the reason i asked was because i have a idiot primary doctor and when i asked him if it could make my stomach hurt he said no because its a main organ which is stupid because the heart is a main organ and when you have a heart attack you get pain sometimes.
