Avatar n tn However once he stands to walk the pain hits and gets worse the larger his strides are. He was almost in tears the other day his calf on left leg was hurting him so bad. He says it is a really bad ache. I say go to dr but he keeps putting it off. Maybe if somebody can help me with what this is and what could happen if left untreated or how to get treatment ... he will listen.
Avatar f tn So my fiance and I told my parents that we were expecting our first and they were over the moon with excitement. Now my soon to be mother in law always told us that kids are hard to raise, that we wouldn't make great parents and she doesn't want us having kids at all and that if we did it'd be a mistake we'd regret. How do I handle this? I breaks my heart that they won't be excited and I really don't want to tell them anymore.

973741 tn?1342342773 If you cut it back, it should allow the vine to focus more on the current pumpkin and allow it to grow larger, but you may not get new pumpkins. I wish I knew more, but I have either deliberatly or by accident cut back squash vines and my experience wasn't very good. They stopped growing beyond that point. It could be I cut them back too early and they hadn't branched out. It may be wise to do a search on pruning back pumkin and squash vines.
Avatar n tn In my case it was more a burning sensation in the center of my chest. I could also feel it radiate up to my jaw and in my arms. I was never really short of breath, but I was nauseated and sweating. The last time I was also shaking. I knew someting was wrong. At times even now I have a strange tingling in my upper back between my shoulder blades. Have you had any discomfort of this type?
Avatar f tn In the strict sense of the words "heart attack" medically termed an infarct means necrosis in the tissue due to local ischemia (means obstructed blood flow and a heart attack is occurring with necrosis of heart cells...this condition can be quick from a clot or a slower process with occlusions of coronary vessels. An EKG is not a very reliable source to detect heart muscle damage and a prior heart attack.
Avatar m tn I'm not a doctor, but I understand people can be having a heart attack and still have a normal or near normal blood pressure. Heart attacks in women don't always include the same/typical symptoms as they do in men. Also, it's fairly common in women that symptoms of a heart attack come and go--so just because the clear up doesn't mean you're not having a heart attack. Better safe than sorry, right? I would seek medical attention immediately. First, take a 325 mg.
Avatar m tn A man beside me told me that he had had a heart attack a week ago. He said that the only pain he felt was in his left arm. He also had some numbness in his arm. He went to the ER. They rushed him into the cath lab and placed a stent in one of his coronary arteries. He saved himself any real damage to the muscle of the heart, by acting on his instinct. He looked just fine to have had a heart attack a week before.
976897 tn?1379167602 Just had angioplasty for a heart attack and thought I would post the experiences so others can hopefully benefit in some way or other. It was last thursday morning when I walked upstairs to the bathroom. I felt very light headed, so much that it was a real effort to not pass out. I had chest pains on a scale 1-10 (8) which would not go away even when I was relaxed. Sweating was incredible, I haven't sweated so much in all my life. No palpitations and no shortness of breath.
1481758 tn?1287638643 Every heart attack is different, so I believe. But it could be just different descriptions from people about the same symptom for all I know. Numb hands & feet, cold tingle, not sure about upset stomach, shacking, all don't sound like a heart attack and in fact the tight chest is the only one that is. I'd assume they drew blood which is probably where they got the ammonia idea.
Avatar f tn I am on Plavix for my Heart Attack and my husband is on Coumadin for a blood clot he had 3 years ago 1 month after he had broken his ankle and had to have surgery. I say he should be off the Coumadin already. He went back to work full time after the broken ankle and also lost 60 lbs. He says the Plavix is just as bad.
Avatar n tn s more commonly called an angiogram or heart cath. They look to see what or if the heart attack caused damage. In my case, the new blockages weren't bad enough to require any intervention. (Stents or bypass surgery). I was kept in the CCU and watched for the next 3 days. It is common to be just "watched" during this time frame. Stay hopeful. I think your friend will be fine and sent home soon. Of course, there will be many lifestyle changes and need for meds.
1814992 tn?1316890851 Doctor checked only my blood pressure which was normal and refused to do further checking of heart , telling that I might be very young to have heart attack. Please , help me to understand this symthoms... Thank You in advance!
Avatar f tn My boyfriend came over to my place Saturday morning, he brought breakfast for everyone, and a new game for our Wii which we all played happily until I had to take my 3 kids to thier Dad's place. I also took my youngest son (his Daddy is my boyfriend) so he could nap in the car. It was decided that when I got back into town I pick up my boyfriend and we go out shopping.

976897 tn?1379167602 I am truly confused about the term 'heart attack'. The definition used in cardiology seems to be that it refers to heart muscle being zero supplied by oxygen and necrosis is a result. Yet, we hear so many times of people having a heart attack, going into the angio suite, having no procedure and being sent home with no damage. This cannot be a heart attack then? In march, my troponin was elevated and I was told by the cardiologist that I had a heart attack.
994817 tn?1249738278 Infarction means heart muscle damage. An infarct is an area of necrotic (dead) cells in heart tissues. An MI (heart attack) can not go on very long without cardiac arrest. Symptoms can go on and off, etc. for a very long time or can result quickly to a heart attack (MI). If you are have heart related heart pains (angina), that condition can slowly or quickly damage heart cells. Sometimes one has a heart attack (MI) and there are no symptoms.
Avatar f tn Most heart attacks (myocardium infarction) occur as result of soft plaque that ruptures through the inner layer of the coronary vessel into vessel channel (lumen) and this presentation represents about 90% of fatal heart attacks. The soft plaque builds up within the layers of the vessel and is not always detected with the usual heart tests such as echocardiogram, stress test, cath, etc.
Avatar n tn Sound like you probably did suffer a heart attack. You better go in to have an EKG done to confirm it. Symptoms when having a heart attack can be shaking in the back. It could also be that an artery that is somewhat blocked is spasming. You better seek medical attention as you may need medication to prevent further attacks or a procedure done.
Avatar f tn Lets just say for the sake of thought that you were having a heart attack and it was caused by a clot issue..when you take the nitro basically everything in the heart area opens up extremely quickly to rid the heart of angina or pains in the chest area....if there were a clot in the region you could theoretically send it shooting thru your body and could cause devastating effects to you. There is a reason why we are never to take anyone elses meds and this is one of the points.
Avatar f tn Based on your post, I could tell you with extremely high (though of course not 100%) confidence that you are highly unlikely to be experiencing heart failure. In fact, your normal BNP checked around the time of your experiencing symptoms by itself is a highly reliable test to exclude CHF. This, coupled with your other normal cardiac testing should be reassuring to you.
Avatar f tn Hi, im an 18 year old female I weigh about 160, my mother & sister has high blood pressure, other than that no family heart issues/attacks. For the past 4 days my left arm (upper) and my left coller bone has been aching, I wouldn't say pain.. its more like pulling a muscle feeling and also my left side of my neck, it can really feel it if I lean forward.
Avatar f tn If you have no history of depression it seems likely to me there is some physiological reason for the symptoms you describe. I would suggest another more proactive step, and that is to go to a diagnostic clinic like Mayo, Cleveland, or a university hospital where you can be evaluated by a team of specialists. If you are not making progress in your health, then your doctor treating you now should be very willing to make a referral. If not, do it on your own.
