3493040 tn?1355296533 A reputable breeder never lets a puppy go before 8 weeks, many hold onto puppies for three to even up to six months. From 7 1/2 weeks to 8 1/2 weeks breeders evaluate the puppies to determine which puppies will go to show homes, which to pet homes and which to working homes. This one week in a puppy's life is the window period where the puppy will look the closest to what he will look like as an adult.
Avatar f tn there are assisted living and nursing homes that are covered by these insurances you have to call the facility and talk to social services and you will need your dr to write and order that she needs to be in that type of home the social services should be able to answer further questions I have worked in both types of homes and this has been my experience I hope this helps some
Avatar f tn I do hospice I'm not in a building unfortunately. I go to nursing homes, assisted livings and to patients homes.
Avatar m tn All of the nursing homes are crummy and I don't agree with a nursing home stay as a cure or treatment for depression. Nursing homes are necessary and fulful a definite need, but psychiatric treatment is not one of those needs. In the best nursing homes there is a shortage of staff. They treat "depression" with a chemical straightjacket. Furthermore, the diet in most homes is lacking and good nutrition is part and parcel of treatment for depression.
Avatar f tn HIPPA laws were enacted to protect patients from this behavior. The worker is in CLEAR violation of HIPPA laws. Starting with the nursing home administrator would be the first step. However, it is difficult to find people to work in nursing homes (even the bad ones are hard to find) so you may just be given the standard "Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will follow-up on this.
Avatar f tn I know ed is right about this....you carry this, you don't get rid of it. It lies dormant in your system. Nursing homes are rampant with it. There was a time that Dr.'s weren't supposed to admit residents to nursing homes if they were carriers. Hospitals hardly ever test any more for it because it is so rampant. There is even crossover from the animal population. I know because my daughter, a Registered Vet Tech, got it from the animal surgical center where she works.
5807499 tn?1383275275 Unfortunately, in the state of Washington, I have to have a years experience in the field before I take my state boards. I came across a nursing assistant program through one of the main nursing homes in our area, & it'll get me certified as a nursing assistant. This will get my foot in the door for what I wanna do with my life and help me pay for my degree. My question is...what is it like doing nursing assistant stuff? I know you're required to lift patients at times...
Avatar f tn Have you heard of healthgrades or vitals? They give ratings on doctors. Another thing I'd do is ask your own doctor for who they recommend.

Avatar m tn Have you ever tried anything like vitals or healthgrades to find a doctor? I've had luck with that. What do you need to see a functional medicine doc for? What is going on with your health??
Avatar n tn He is probably on medicare, so speak to the department of social services, we use the Services to People with Disabilities here in my state. We have many possibilities here also for the older DS, A day care unit, nursing homes and residential facilities. Are there no group homes in your area? I am sorry about your sister, my daughter is also doing chemo right now for ovarian cancer, but her children are all adults now. You might also call the ARC in your area and ask for advice.
290018 tn?1240365868 When I was in highschool I worked at a nursing home and later a hospital. I would def. check out what's available at the hospitals as nursing homes don't usually have positions past 7 pm. At the hospital, you can either clean or work in the kitchen/cafeteria. I made over $8 an hour doing that, with no experience! I LOVE hospitals. When I have to be there for someone, or to give birth, appointments, I just love it! The smell, the atmosphere, the business...
1530342 tn?1405016490 Administration officials and Republican negotiators say the money can be taken from health care providers like hospitals and nursing homes without directly imposing new costs on needy beneficiaries or radically restructuring either program. Before the talks led by Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.

Avatar f tn gov and search nursing home comparisons. The issue I have is that none of the nursing homes actually mention rehab. My dad has a great attitude and is working hard at his therapy sessions. Can anyone offer advice on how to effectively research and screen facilitities to ensure that my dad continues therapy with the goal of going home? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 13 weeks pregnant n currently work at two nursing homes as a Personal Support Worker. At the one nursing home I have been there over a year but the second one I just recently started n Im not past my probation period. When should I tell this employer Im pregnant?
Avatar f tn My cat was spade a week ago, in the last couple of days she's been showing some strange behaviour. her kittens are now 4.5 months old (she stopped nursing them 4 weeks ago) and now she's calling them and letting them nurse? Also she goes into the bed where she kept kittens (when they were born) and keeps scratching at it? Is this just a hormone inbalance where she's been spade?
1817813 tn?1317017629 It may sound like an odd question, but could your grandmother have an STD? Std rates have been on the rise in nursing homes and elderly communities so it could be something to rule out.
Avatar n tn My symptoms are very similar to army_wifey23 But I do not work at nursing homes, I just get these symptoms every once and a while. Am I seriously sick?
1666982 tn?1445198395 No, definitely not everyone that has been in a hospital has to deal with it. Although, they often do nasal swabs in hospitals or nursing homes so that they can treat the people that do have it so that it doesn't spread as much. So it is probably colonized in your nose. But what do you mean it was spread through the bloodlines? Many people are denied for disability on their first time; you can always fight it.
Avatar n tn Thanks - that's good to hear and reassuring. No, my mom doesn't show any symptoms of scabies (itching, rashes, etc.). I'll keep an eye out for her. Won't tell her about my own condition because she'll start imagining she has it.
Avatar m tn Hi there. My mom had a stroke at 73 years old. Lived by herself and was quite independent before. After a stay in the hospital for 6 weeks we were told that she would never meet the requirements for a rehab program. She was sent to a nursing home but the family continued doing her exercise that we found helpful from the Internet and we used therapeutic needles daily to stimulate the nerves on her bad side.
Avatar m tn thank you He is back in the hospital having fell again . Docters say he is impulsive .Nursing homes cannot restrain him .He is on cummadin for stroke but its dangerous to bleed out with all his falls .We are so up set no help for this kind of problem. He cannot open his eyes but his mind is fine and we tape one eye open . any advice please!
306455 tn?1288862071 If there are any rest homes, or nursing care centers nearby, I'd suggest a couple of things. I personally, find it very rewarding to spend time with the elderly or infirm. There are a couple of things you could do.....One, is to simply spend time with them. Lots of folks in these places, either have no friends or family, or their friends and family either rarely choose to, or can spend time with them. The residents are so grateful for companionship.....
246850 tn?1246160348 I'm thinking find a volunteer project you can do together like help out in a soup kitchen, volunteer in a hospital or nursing home. Some people don't get visitors and would love a visit from someone! If you have a pet, you could investigate doing pet therapy in a hospital or nursing home. There's so many things out there. Habitat for Humanity - you could help build a home for a homeless person. Many churches have missions trips to places like Mexico, etc.
