I am not a physican, but the mom of a type 1 diabetic and the daughtert of a type 2. I have not heard of and corrilation of type 1 or 2 and asbestos. Asbestos usually effects the lungs and the pulmonary system not the pancreas.

Once the symptoms of extreme thirst, frequent urination, skin problems not healing properly, feeling nausea when hungry and itchy skin, constant fungal problems, would point to a diagnoses of diabetes. The doctor would either order a glucose test or a blood test to check HBA1C levels. The HBA1C blood test shows the average blood sugar over a period of 3 months.
It could also put extra stress on the baby and he/she will be checked for diabetes when born.

Ok I had my blood work done at week 27 for blood sugar and it was 213 I am scared and dont know what to do. Does anyone know how much it can affect my baby's health. Or chances of any abnormalities? And when does diabetes actually start during preg is it only in 3rd trimester? Or I may have got it earlier than that?

On the emotional side, I think that Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are very similar. Both come along with complications or risks of them, and with psychological & emotional pressures, worries, feeling guilty, feeling angry, feeling despair. Folks with either type of diabetes can also enjoy all the good emotions: hope, contentment, happiness, love, compassion.

i would like to write my insulin levels but i dont know them , since been few years when i had my diagnostic tests and i wasnt interested in the subject that much back than .but i will try to get my health records and see if i have it done , if not i will ask for the test .

taking small dose of medicine for bp. recently started taking statin because of high cholestrol. used to take about 100 ml of drinks more or less daily for about 1 1/2 years. now completely stopped because of objection from family !! but i feel very bad about it. will moderate drinking cause diabetes ?? please advise?
