Avatar f tn Its a new law, your larents insurance will cover you until you are 26, married or not, but not your baby. You will have to tell the insurance you are married bc you have to change your name with them.
Avatar n tn I would recommend checking out your state laws -- some states allow maternity-only health insurance to be sold, other states require that any policy written has maternity insurance included, and still others have no rules on the topic.
Avatar n tn How can I get short term maternity health insurance? My husband and I have insurance and we have a son that has needed this plan bc of childhood cancer. However, my first pregnancy was under my works insurance plan (now I no longer work). I got a call Fri from Dr office that my insurance has NO maternity coverage. My apt is Mon. What do I do, I'm already 6wks pregnant?
1284791 tn?1271994267 After we set all of this up we applied for group coverage. We did this in order to get maternity coverage, which is otherwise unavailble in Texas. To our delight we saw that we could select anf IVF rider. We weren't sure we would need it, but figured it was a definite possiblity, so we opted for it. It increased our premium by about 40%, but it has obviously long since paid for itself! I am so greatful we did all of this, even though it was a huge hassle.
Avatar f tn I don't believe that you will find a health insurance company that will take you on. They consider pregnancy a "pre-existing condition" an will not take you under ther plans. I am seven weeks pregnant and have called many comparable companies and no one will provide a plan. Your best bet is to either apply for Medicaid if you qualify or find a clinic/hospital that will do a sliding scale payment (match the amount you pay based on your income). Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I was interested in seeing how many of us have health insurance vs no health insurance.
Avatar f tn I read a few of you mentioning in other posts about 100% insurance coverage which sounds great. Based on the insurance I have right now, I pay Upto 3000 out of pocket for my entire pregnancy and after paying 3000 my insurance pays 90% of any additional expense after that. So my question is, which insurance covers 100% of pregnancy cost. Thank you.
Avatar f tn What health insurance coverage/plan do you have? How much do you pay deductible and premium? Im so confuse about that. I'm 35 and planning family soon, but I'm so confused about this. thank ;you Just trying to get an idea.
Avatar n tn However, I am unable to acquire any health insurance because of the diagnosis. It has always been an awful stress not to have coverage, but until recently I haven't had much to take if I couldn't pay medical bills. I am having a child very soon, and I just purchased a business. I want to be able to build a life for myself and my family, but it is a constant fear that if I incur any large hospital bills they will be able to take everything I work for. Right now I am covered by Medicaid.
Avatar f tn If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?
Avatar m tn Hi I suppose heatlh insurance that has prescription drug coverage.

I am at wits end... so I was hoping if i posted my insurance dilemma here.. maybe someone else has some insurance knowledge that they could share with me and a more appropriate plan of action than my stomping and screaming approach :) lol Heres my issue....
Avatar m tn willing: "marcia: yeah, you and Trish may laugh and think this is all pretty weird but you have no idea all the fun you're missing out on! Arguing with dr's assistants about who bills whom, with hospitals about what's been paid, with the insurance companies about what's covered, with your employer about which insurance company to switch to (not to mention arguing with everyone else about how to stop arguing about this).
1191960 tn?1280074080 I live in Oregon and have Providence health insurance. They pay 50% of everything except IVF. I also have Healthcomp-they dont cover infertility but they do cover ultrasounds and office visits. For sure shop around.
Avatar f tn I am now seven weeks pregnant. I don't have any insurance. Can anyone walk we through the steps I need to take to get coverage (I am certain I make below the guidelines to qualify)?
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
1530342 tn?1405016490 Local governments and grassroots organizations have worked closely with federal health officials to link uninsured Texans to the state’s health insurance exchange. And thanks to the Affordable Care Act, more than 2 million of them will qualify for tax credits to subsidize their coverage next year. Until healthcare.gov is working as advertised, that storyline will carry some dark irony.

Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?
Avatar m tn I have my own company in CA, i'm looking into a new group health insurance, does anyone know of a carrier that covers infertility? IUI, IVF ...? If you work for a company that covers it, can you please let me know the plan you are on? Thank you...
290018 tn?1240365868 They only cover a certain percentage depending on your coverage selections. My health insurance pays for EVERYTHING except for $150 copay but I have excellent health insurance. My guess is if you have United, you will probably acrrue a similar hospital bill but your best bet would be to call United directly.
