But many states through financial mismanagement and irresponsible spending habits without adequate oversight, have created their own problems. Here in Texas, through solid conservative financial leadership, we're fine. And we have no state income tax. In fact, we have a constitutional amendment forbidding a state income tax. Sorry about the other states.

Secondly it is an untruth that you need health insurance to be treated in the United States if you have no money.. It's an urban myth. There are clinics everwhere that treat on the basis of ability to pay. In hospitals there is thre Hill-Burton act which mandates the hospital eat the bill for indigent patients.

Avatar m tn Each State has to set up a federal High Risk Pool until the health exchanges come in in 2014. If the state will not set these up the federal government will but it will take time. You can not be eligible for any other insurance to qualify for a High Risk Pool. You can not turn down private insurance because it is too expensive and go into the HRP. Many states such as NC also have HRPs but it is first come first serve until the money runs out.

If you are on your parents insurance, give the insurance company a call and discuss your need for privacy with them to make sure that a statement of benefits doesn't go out to your parents. No idea of your age but since now "children" can stay on their parents insurance until age 26, this is something that they are used to dealing with.

I wanted to see a specialist but since i have ins thru a local hospital... i coudlnt go. I can go to the local hospital or the local hospital! and the NS and NL i have seen there are LESS than impressive!

I wad still under my moms plan and she was laid off last month. Well I had medical assistance through the state my last pregnancy but they dropped me when she was a month old because of my fiance's income. My daughter still has medical assistance.
