insurance

Avatar m tn It realistically more and more seems to be the only answer especially during this time with all the mediscare going on and the medicaid that will be cut as well for seniors in nursing homes and home health care and the like. I am a member of AARP. I do not carry my auto insurance thru them as it is higher than what I have.
163305 tn?1333668571 Medicare supplemental health insurance, discounts on prescription drugs and consumer goods, entertainment and travel packages, long-term care insurance and automobile, home and life insurance.[2] It provides quality control over the products and services made available by AARP-endorsed providers. According to AARP's 2008 Consolidated financials, it was paid $652,000,000 in royalties from insurance companies that sold products referred by AARP.
Avatar m tn I pay extra for this plan, because it pays for most all GENERIC MEDICATIONS that I desperately need even when I go into the doenutt hole. Thats why I pay more for it. I am in such bad health that I have to have atleast all my GENERICS though out the entire year. Now they are saying everyone in my particular part-d-plan has the option to go back to the PLUS part. But the PLUS part ONLY COVERS $2,840 a year THATS IT!! I am on medications that I DESPERATELY NEED.
Avatar f tn In answering insurance applications, is taking adderall considered a mental disorder?
Avatar m tn I'll be starting medicare 10/1 with f plan from United Health Care. And D plan AARP medicare RX . Unfortunately I dad 12 weeks O/S cleared and came back 6 weeks later. So I will be getting into the donut hole to restart sovaldi and ribavirin. With all that said even though my meld is 33 it looks like I'll be going in for another tabe(cemoembilization) for the cancer. My question is F plan will pay for procedure but what about meds, cemo, pain meds and antibiotics?
374652 tn?1494811435 The article in AARP clarified what she said about an IV. In the AARP article she said the IV in her dressing room was for fluids that she would take before performing. She said the Interferon made her dehydraded which makes more sense then what we previously thought was an Interferon IV. She talked a lot about her kidney transplant but didn't say much about her HCV ???
Avatar n tn I live in NJ and will be starting Medicare April 1st. Just got good news today that insurance through AARP (United Healthcare) is now covering Sovaldi and Olysio. Just last week they did not cover these. I would assume that maybe other AARP insurances through other states will also cover these. The bottom line is you just have to keep plugging away and calling whoever you have to. Things are changing all the time with regard to insurance coverages with these new drugs.
1635208 tn?1300807160 Solvaid (sorry mis-spelled) Also have questions re insurance. Am hoping to start treatment in Sep., but have medicare part D--AARP Medicare RX Preferred (PDP) in Ill.--& tho I can call, was wondering if anyone else was able to successfully navigate the many hoops I'm sure one has to jump thru?? Also what co-pay? .
Avatar f tn F*ck Im sitting here watching a Aarp commercial and I realized I forgot to ask for the hospital registration papers again ugh im 38 weeks and 4d i feel bad that i keep forgetting
Avatar f tn Getting access to health insurance is one thing. Paying for it is another. No one knows yet how much private health plans will charge to cover people who purchase policies through the state insurance exchanges that begin in 2014, when most people will be required to have coverage. But buying it through an exchange instead of on your own will give you the advantage of group rates, which tend to be lower.
Avatar f tn I hope that others will come along with ideas for getting insurance (medicaid, state insurance plans, etc.) and/or other help. Oh, and there was an article in an AARP publication about people pricing surgeries across the country and choosing the facility with the best price. You can check the facility's specialties and performance records online, I believe, so it's not too much of a crapshoot.
Avatar f tn Do you know of places that perform eyelid surgery, pro-bono, by interns? My heavy eyelids make it difficult for me to see, but I am on disability. Of course I could also use cheek implants...but that's dreaming. If you don't provide these services, do you know a hospital that does? My SSDI insurance, AARP Secure Horizons (see their website) will provide insurance in certain cases.
Avatar m tn Medicare part d is drug coverage but don't look for miracles !
Avatar n tn I lost my insurance after 13 years post-transplant.
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
Avatar n tn Hi, I just found out I do not have health insurance. We thought it would be until the end of the month but it's already done. I wad still under my moms plan and she was laid off last month. Well I had medical assistance through the state my last pregnancy but they dropped me when she was a month old because of my fiance's income. My daughter still has medical assistance.
Avatar f tn What health insurance coverage/plan do you have? How much do you pay deductible and premium? Im so confuse about that. I'm 35 and planning family soon, but I'm so confused about this. thank ;you Just trying to get an idea.
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
Avatar f tn I am going to lose my health insurance soon. I was wondering if anyone knows of any government programs I can participate in in order to afford doctors appointments and delivery.

Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?

Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
