When the sore spots are on my forehead I can sometimes observe a bit of swelling but never discoloration.

First, I want to thank everyone for sharing and confirming that I am NOT LOOSING MY MIND. I worried to even share this with my husband for him thinking I had moved into DELIRIUM stage of my sickness. I am a 53 yr old, white female. For the better part of my life, a pretty healthy person. Same sensations of TENDER, sore, BRUISED SKIN, BUT NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. Good news ---I am NOT crazy (about this). Bad news, what the heck is this?

(Anxiety can put the neck muscles into spasm and can thus cause a headache; alternately, a depressed mood can result in a forward head position, leading to the same “cervicogenic headache” I have visited the Opticians who said I need stronger reading glasses but my eyes nerves etc looked very healthy.
I'm fifteen and i have been having throat aches, not a sore throat, more of like an aching of the muscles by my throat, especially if i laugh or sing. what is up with that?
About four to five days ago I began to feel symptoms of fever, including a slight headache, nasal congestion, stiff neck and muscles and a sore throat. When looking in the mirror at the back of my throat I saw I had a few (four or five) small cold-sore like irritations behind my uvula. There are no lesions, sores or pain anywhere else in or around my mouth, nor on my genitalia. I am wondering if I may have contracted herpes of the throat or if I have simply come down with a fever or cold.
Two days later the headache and stabbing pain went away but my eye tensed up like the eye muscles are weak and are straining to keep open. Its an odd feeling and affects everything I do because it's constantly there. My vision and balance got worse as well. When I look at things it's as if I'm in a dream and is probably the most frustrating of all.

Over the course of the day my symptoms worsened, I had a severly sore throat, swollen glands, headache, all of my joints ached but mot my muscles and had no fever. The next day I saw my family doctor. He tested for strep, (test was negative). He said my lungs sounded good, no sinus problems and blood pressure was fine. Said he had no idea what it was. I was instructed to take Ibuprofen and chloriseptic spray for thoat to help with pain.
That ended and for the last couple of days I've just had an EXTREMELY sore throat with a headache and very sore neck muscles. I was taking Naproxen and some Neocitron with acetaminophen in it. Just yesterday I noticed that I now have a slight red rash on my stomach, chest, and behind my neck. Also now my sore throat has gone down a bit but I know have a pain in the left side of my jaw when I chew or swallow, it feels like the pain is going up towards my left ear.
A few days ago I noticed a sore, reddish swollen lump on my left inner thigh, right along my bikini line. It has since gotten larger (about the size of a nickel, and more elongated now). It only feels sore if I press on it or rub against it. It seems like a soft lump that moves around with the skin. Last night I applied a warm washcloth to it for about 30 minutes, which made it feel better. Could this be a swollen lymph node, or maybe an ingrown hair?
A week ago I became sick with (what I believe was) a small cold. My throat was very sore and I was coughing, but after a few nights of rest and a humidifier, I was feeling fine. I never had any headaches, or a fever, my temp. remained at 97 or 98 all week. 3 days ago I went out with a friend after feeling better (I still have a small cough), and let myself drink alot of soda. When I began getting headaches I believed it was only from all of the caffeine and passed it by.
I have not had any fever or sore throat or rashes. But very tired and had burning sensation on both my eyes all along. What are the chances of me testing positive?
Dizziness, nausea, headaches, toothaches, sensation of a sore throat. The whole shabang. I have no desire to change careers, I'm a pastry chef and die for it. But here are some tips that have been helping me along: meditate. practice keeping your jaw relaxed every moment you can think of it. Rub a535, like recommended above. Behind your ears there is a connecting point of just one of the many effected muscles. and a HUGE one: YOGA!
Actually, I had mono when I was a freshman in college. 22 years ago. Along with strep. Too funny you mention that. It also sounds like you were saying that once exposed, you're immune to getting mono from someone else. Were you also saying that the EBV could lie dormant and "fire up" again later?
