581504 tn?1217987070 I'm 17 and I have a couple of lumps in my neck. At the base of my head in the back it hurts and I get headaches alot. The back of my neck is lumpy and makes grinding noises. Overall my neck is really sore. At times my arm joints' hurt. I got a blood count and my doctor said everything came back normal... but from my research blood work rarely will show if you have a type of cancer. My heartbeat and everything is normal. My doctor felt my lumps and said they were probably normal.

9779545 tn?1405850046 It usually happens on the scalp, but can show up on neck, back and chest. He has most of his on the upper back, chest and back of the neck...not so much on the scalp at all. He has a beard and mustache, and shaves his head, so he doesnt really get them along the hairline, but does get them around the beard and mushache. As far as the solition, what I have found so far is that this condition is usually a manifestation of some other problem(s) in the body.
Avatar f tn so I felt a knot in my neck.. so I did more research online and the first thing that came up was parotid cancer and salvia cancer and I just started to freak out!!!! Avatar f tn How can I get my doctor to take me serious? With my now previous physician, he told me to go home & research on the internet and get back with him on what I find and maybe together we could find out what's going on. Well, I had lost 40 pounds in 2 months w/o trying. I was having big time sweating at night soaking my clothes, and on & off temperature. I wasn't feeling right. Well, I have other diagnosed issues and several surgeries behind me.
196469 tn?1365387975 I missed her yesterday and I did not check out the song, but I did go in last night and watch the video of her interview on Good Morning America where they discussed ovarian cancer and then the clip on her show where she and Regis were talking about her and Electrolux teaming up to raise $500,000. Then I went to then electrolux site which links you to a site just for her. You then enter the Wash and Wear Lounge where you can send a virtual t-shirt to a friend or friends.

393685 tn?1425812522 I made it a point to go for yearly physicals since they found my kidney stones and, thus, they found the thyroid nodules and ensuing cancer ... so I guess we both are living proof how valuable Dr visits can be.
Avatar f tn -/ as doing research I see that a lump in this area has got to be the worsed :( which is what I've got.
Avatar n tn m thinking because of those lumps) and also sometimes when I turn my head (especially whilst talking/eating) I get a shooting nerve sensation along my neck and up to the side of my head, comparable to the feeling when the nerve in the elbow is struck.
Avatar n tn I have a hard, non-tender lump on the right side of the back of my head down towards my neck. I noticed it in undergrad (4 years ago) and they took blood work. The NP said that my white count (i think) was slightly elevated, and that i probably had a virus lingering around, which would explain the swollen lymph node on the back of my head. It has never gone away. It has been there at least 4 years now. I have lately been SUPER fatigued.
Avatar m tn Whereas in the past, the “face” of head and neck cancer was a man in his 60s with a history of heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, the men diagnosed with HPV oropharyngeal cancer do not smoke heavily and may still be in their 50s or younger, although older men are also affected. Dr. Wirth explains that HPV cancers show a specific pattern as to where they arise.
Avatar n tn The general term used for babies who can not hold their head up well is head lag. At birth, all babies have head lag. Some control over head movement is reached by 8 weeks so that head lag lessens. By the age of 4-6 months, most babies should be able to hold their head up when pulled by their arms to a seated position. However, there is of course some variation between infants, and some may hold their head up earlier and some a little later.
Avatar f tn Can anyone give me some insight on a good cancer research hospital that deals with Medullary thyroid cancer? Any info would be really appriciated! Thanks!

Avatar f tn I was prescribed anti-depressents which calmed me but the headaches continued. I was then sent for a MRI head and neck scan without dye which came back clear. I have also had a ct scan of bowel and several other tests which again have been ok. I am now feeling sick but my GP will not send me for any more tests. I have a fear of cancer after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer ten years ago which turned out to be a complete mistake.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a papillary carcinoma on Sept. 8th from the biopsy. I had a total thyroidectomy and right neck dissection on Oct. 15th. My surgeon was away after that and now he's referring me to an endo. I am getting frustrated that there's no plan for my treatment started yet.
415684 tn?1257329318 My doc was very frank (and he knew I was there) about the treatments for cancer. He told this group that you could put all of the treatments in a bag and have the patient pick one out to try. Some tx work for some people and some don't. IF there was a CURE for OVCA, we would all be on it. I think it is important for each individual to read as much as possible on the treatments for this disease. We would not have AVASTIN, if someone hadn't stepped up to the plate in a trial.
