They said I might have a nerve problem and I had to go to neurology and they said that everything looks good.
Avatar f tn My 27 year old son has been experiencing severe neck pain, muscle spasms in the neck and arms, and sharp stabbing headache pain which he describes as being like electrical jolts in his head. He has been experiencing most of these symptoms for the past 15 months. The headaches last for days. He was first diagnosed with a bone spur in the neck but the doctor ruled that out. He has gone for steroid injections and physical therapy with short term relief.
652671 tn?1353712165 t have good control of my head and neck muscles. IT has been more difficult than I can tell you these past months. I have 3 small children and I honestly feel like I died the week my daughter was born. I haven't been right since. I feel like I can't reclaim myself because of the problems I still have. My question is, will it ever go away? I've been waiting every second of every day of the past 4 months to be better, to be normal. I can't take it anymore.
Avatar f tn The tingling is provoked by neck movement and neck stiffness. I seen a neuro, she did a ton of blood work, and thoracic and another brain MRI, they were normal, theonly thing that showed was the bulging disk that my PCP sent me for, I also had a lumbar MRI, it was also normal. I tried trigger point injections, and also PT, it didn't seem to help. Everything that I have read says that the disk problem wouldn't cause the tingling in my face.
Avatar n tn I have neck and back pain everyday. The MRI showed small herniated disks in neck but the back MRI was clear. I have pain in the middle of my back and anything physical makes it worse. It all started with severe migraines. My hands shake now all the time and the pain in unexplained still after not working for 5 months. My physical therapist believes that it is a sympathetic nervous system problem but doesnt think i should still be in so much pain. My family Dr.
403119 tn?1201638652 If not you need to be evaluated for a baseline assessment. Trauma involving the head and neck may result to headaches later on ( although this may not be true in all cases).A whiplash injury may cause concussions or trauma to the cervical spine. This is something that you may need to discuss with your doctor. If you have any scans or test results with you do bring them along during a consult. Keep us posted for anything.

Avatar f tn My grandmother is 79 and her health has been going from bad to worse within the last half year. She had stopped excersizing due to a bad knee and was scheduled in for a knee replacement when she got, what she thought, was the flu. They went ahead and had the knee replacement done, but she never really managed to do a lot of rehabilitation of the knee because she had this persisent flu. The flu was paired with a loss of touch and the feeling of numbness in her left side of her face.

Avatar n tn Poor position when sleeping at night, prolonged sitting with poor back and neck support , and strenuous exercises may actually cause headaches referred from local neck pain. A migraine headache is only given as a diagnosis after a complete assessment. Would you be able to elaborate more on your headaches?
Avatar f tn Hello~I truly, truly believe that what is wrong is you have vertebrae in your neck and upper back out of alignment and pinched nerves in that area as well, if this is the case, you most certainly will be having all the symptoms you described. I highly recommend seeing a chiropractor, he/she will take some x-rays, this will show where the trouble is originating from, a few treatments and you should be feeling lots better. Hope you feel better soon. God bless you.
Avatar n tn I have a hard, non-tender lump on the right side of the back of my head down towards my neck. I noticed it in undergrad (4 years ago) and they took blood work. The NP said that my white count (i think) was slightly elevated, and that i probably had a virus lingering around, which would explain the swollen lymph node on the back of my head. It has never gone away. It has been there at least 4 years now. I have lately been SUPER fatigued.
Avatar m tn Whereas in the past, the “face” of head and neck cancer was a man in his 60s with a history of heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, the men diagnosed with HPV oropharyngeal cancer do not smoke heavily and may still be in their 50s or younger, although older men are also affected. Dr. Wirth explains that HPV cancers show a specific pattern as to where they arise.
Avatar n tn The general term used for babies who can not hold their head up well is head lag. At birth, all babies have head lag. Some control over head movement is reached by 8 weeks so that head lag lessens. By the age of 4-6 months, most babies should be able to hold their head up when pulled by their arms to a seated position. However, there is of course some variation between infants, and some may hold their head up earlier and some a little later.
Avatar f tn Hi all, Has anyone ever heard of breast cancer (IBC or other) spreading up the neck to cause neck, ear, and head pain on that side? I have a swollen axillary node and pain in my breast and up my neck to my ear and head and nobody can figure it out, even breast specialists. Does this sound famiiar to anyone? Thanks so much for any info.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed anti-depressents which calmed me but the headaches continued. I was then sent for a MRI head and neck scan without dye which came back clear. I have also had a ct scan of bowel and several other tests which again have been ok. I am now feeling sick but my GP will not send me for any more tests. I have a fear of cancer after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer ten years ago which turned out to be a complete mistake.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Vicodin 10mg. and taking 3-4 daily for the past 5 years. I desperately want to get off and am open to entering a rehab center, but currently have no insurance. Is there any facilites out there that I can go to without having insurance? I have tried to ween off and can deal with the dysenteria, ringing in my ears, flu-like symptoms, but I can not deal with my leggs wanting to run with me and that overwhelming anxious feeling.
Avatar n tn Lymph nodes enlarge when there is an infection. The head and neck area have an extensive network of lymph nodes. These lymph nodes function like a filter, and thus increase in size in the presence of infection to filter out organisms. Even with treatment, some lymph nodes remain enlarged. A recurrent infection would further increase the size of the lymph node. However, there are other conditions that can present with lymph node enlargement. Head and neck malignancy is an example.
Avatar f tn You raise a great question, but the jury is still out on this issue. The effects of cellphone radiation on head and neck tumors has not been shown but also not been extensively studied." to my follow up question re 'can we test for this' and could there be a relation to the head jerking, he said: "There's no way to test for this, and I certainly don't think it has any relation to your head jerking." how would you feel?
Avatar f tn My father suffered a fall and had a closed head injury. He had two small bleeds in his brain which luckily didn't need surgical intervention. He was placed on Keppra 500mg orally twice a day for seizure precautions due to the fall. He has been on the medication for approximately three weeks. He is tired, blah, and feels short of breath. I know it will take time to heal but do you know how long he should have to be on the medication and/or how long he will feel this way?
Avatar n tn There are a group of three pairs of muscles in the lateral neck, namely the scalenus anterior, scalenus medius, and scalenus posterior. In a forward head posture those muscles become foreshortened. The scalene muscles have an important relationship to other structures in the neck. The brachial plexus (nerves), which is responsible for cutaneous and muscular innervation of the entire upper limb, passes between the anterior and middle scalenes.
