Avatar f tn Yesterday I noticed a large lump on the side of my neck which I assume is a swollen lymph node. The connection of lymph nodes and cancer has made me an emotional wreck. And GOOGLE. ....Google is bad when it comes to self diagnosing! I made an apt with my GP for today to check out lump. Should I let my Gyn know too? I am in a bit of panic and just wanted to express my concerns to an understanding crowd.

Avatar f tn t walk to the kitchen to get a drink without feeling like I need to sit down. My neck feels like jello and I can barely hold my head up most of the time. Sometimes I sit or walk around with a neck pillow looking like a fool. I do my exercises but I still feel so weak. I know I'm being a big baby and it may take months before I feel better but I'm just not use to being like this. I want to get up and do things an my body is working against me. Just needed to complain thanks.

1765114 tn?1313541596 After years of pushing that there was something wrong with my thyroid, my doc found thyroid cancer in 2011 and removed my thyroid. Ever since, my neck has been swollen off and on, sometimes it is very painful. Both ENT and endocrinologist said they couldn't find anything wrong (bear in mind the whole time up until my thyroid was removed and pathology was done, they couldn't find anything wrong with it either). It has gotten progressively worse.

389113 tn?1200431389 I have been "unwell" for a while, but painfully sick and getting worse since September Have had many many tests, and nothing. normal cbc. I've lost 30 pounds, though I have good days, there are more bad days. drenching night sweats, though not all of the time. almost constant chills, fatigue/weakness so severe, sometimes I can't even talk. Strange flushing of my face and neck. I suffered horribly with itchy rashes on my legs for months, but those seem to have subsided.
Avatar n tn I have a hard, non-tender lump on the right side of the back of my head down towards my neck. I noticed it in undergrad (4 years ago) and they took blood work. The NP said that my white count (i think) was slightly elevated, and that i probably had a virus lingering around, which would explain the swollen lymph node on the back of my head. It has never gone away. It has been there at least 4 years now. I have lately been SUPER fatigued.
6013416 tn?1381240291 Well the next day I noticed that the back of my head and neck on the right side was very stiff and tight and it felt like I had a bone sticking out and it pops every time I move my head. Is that normal? I was told by someone that its just the muscle healing where it was cut. Does anyone else have this.
Avatar m tn Whereas in the past, the “face” of head and neck cancer was a man in his 60s with a history of heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, the men diagnosed with HPV oropharyngeal cancer do not smoke heavily and may still be in their 50s or younger, although older men are also affected. Dr. Wirth explains that HPV cancers show a specific pattern as to where they arise.
Avatar f tn Everything seemed fine until today I was driving and cranked my neck to reverse. There was a pop in my ear, and I felt like the packing moved and I could hear clearly. I shoved the cotton back in. The popping happened again as was walking back into my apartment. Does this mean the grapht failed? I pushed the cotton back in and it's back to the muffled feeling now.
Avatar n tn The general term used for babies who can not hold their head up well is head lag. At birth, all babies have head lag. Some control over head movement is reached by 8 weeks so that head lag lessens. By the age of 4-6 months, most babies should be able to hold their head up when pulled by their arms to a seated position. However, there is of course some variation between infants, and some may hold their head up earlier and some a little later.

393685 tn?1425812522 I was diagnosed many years ago with everything from Graves to Hashimotos and finally 5 years ago with thyroid cancer ( follicular and pappillary (SP?) had a tt and parathyroids removed also. Not a bad recovery but it has been hell getting regulated on the synthroid. So much goes hand in hand with the rythym problems (PVCs/PACs and PSVT ) and its all driving me nuts! I wonder how many other people have had so much trouble getting thier levels regulated?
Avatar n tn There are many different tests available to try to identify cancer recurrences in the neck and elsewhere in the body such as lung or bone. One of the best and still least expensive tests is a careful physical examination by a practitioner skilled in thyroid disease. Because papillary thyroid cancer tends to spread to lymph nodes in the neck rather than other far away areas such as lung or bone, a careful physical examination can easily detect a recurrence in a neck lymph node(s).
