Avatar n tn I have a hard, non-tender lump on the right side of the back of my head down towards my neck. I noticed it in undergrad (4 years ago) and they took blood work. The NP said that my white count (i think) was slightly elevated, and that i probably had a virus lingering around, which would explain the swollen lymph node on the back of my head. It has never gone away. It has been there at least 4 years now. I have lately been SUPER fatigued.
Avatar m tn Whereas in the past, the “face” of head and neck cancer was a man in his 60s with a history of heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, the men diagnosed with HPV oropharyngeal cancer do not smoke heavily and may still be in their 50s or younger, although older men are also affected. Dr. Wirth explains that HPV cancers show a specific pattern as to where they arise.
Avatar n tn The general term used for babies who can not hold their head up well is head lag. At birth, all babies have head lag. Some control over head movement is reached by 8 weeks so that head lag lessens. By the age of 4-6 months, most babies should be able to hold their head up when pulled by their arms to a seated position. However, there is of course some variation between infants, and some may hold their head up earlier and some a little later.
Avatar f tn Hi all, Has anyone ever heard of breast cancer (IBC or other) spreading up the neck to cause neck, ear, and head pain on that side? I have a swollen axillary node and pain in my breast and up my neck to my ear and head and nobody can figure it out, even breast specialists. Does this sound famiiar to anyone? Thanks so much for any info.

Avatar f tn I was prescribed anti-depressents which calmed me but the headaches continued. I was then sent for a MRI head and neck scan without dye which came back clear. I have also had a ct scan of bowel and several other tests which again have been ok. I am now feeling sick but my GP will not send me for any more tests. I have a fear of cancer after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer ten years ago which turned out to be a complete mistake.
Avatar n tn Lymph nodes enlarge when there is an infection. The head and neck area have an extensive network of lymph nodes. These lymph nodes function like a filter, and thus increase in size in the presence of infection to filter out organisms. Even with treatment, some lymph nodes remain enlarged. A recurrent infection would further increase the size of the lymph node. However, there are other conditions that can present with lymph node enlargement. Head and neck malignancy is an example.
Avatar f tn You raise a great question, but the jury is still out on this issue. The effects of cellphone radiation on head and neck tumors has not been shown but also not been extensively studied." to my follow up question re 'can we test for this' and could there be a relation to the head jerking, he said: "There's no way to test for this, and I certainly don't think it has any relation to your head jerking." how would you feel?
Avatar f tn It a place you can feel comfortable and let go of those secrets in your head which pile up and pile up. Being able to release the pent up stuff is very important. Its like cleansing the body and mind...
7680419 tn?1399056811 I figured where I fit, who I connected with and trustsd, and I started to share more and more. There are all kinds of oeople in meetings here, genuine loving kinds, arrogant pushy kinds, but most of them had good intentions. The users, abusers, and stalkers are all removed from our meetings, but I'm sure there are battle apples in every bunch, they are humans, but there are plenty of folks to help protect each other.

Avatar n tn Occipital neuralgia is a term used to describe pain originating from the base of skull to the front and side of the head. Other symptoms include tender hypersensitive scalp and pain and pressure behind the eyes and eyes are sensitive to light. This is definitely a possibility in your case however nothing can be said for sure without a clinical exam. Please schedule an appointment with a headache specialist and keep us posted.
956292 tn?1334054869 m good for 10-15 minutes of listening and then forget it. If someone I am talking to has a sharp voice or talks to fast my head spins. A fog seems to settle in my brain and I wonder what we have been talking about. It happened yesterday at my Rheumatologist office. I was grateful that my husband was with me and could fill in the blanks. So frustrating!!!! Is there some help for this? Hugs, Charley.
Avatar f tn t go away.. so I started to get a lil worried and started checking my neck and head for knots about a 3-4 days later I notice a knot in my neck so I mad a doctor's appointment. Avatar f tn s one on one and you can really get to the bottom line of why you were using. I know that NA meetings would be a great place for you to go and share and learn and such, but perhaps a more discreet place to start and at least get the process going would be a private therapist or counselor of sorts. I'm not trying to nix the idea of NA/AA meetings, just give you another option.
Avatar n tn I found what I believe is a lump on the top part of my breast. The only time that I feel it is when my arm is behind my head. It's sore when I push on it. It's not a round lump. I am thinking it's nothing because I can only feel it when my arm is behind my head. Could this be cancer and should I get it checked out?
Avatar f tn My boyfriend has just undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy for head and neck cancer .... he has had tonsils removed, lymph glands removed and still has the sore throat when swallowing , a feeling s if there is something at the back of the throat . A few weeks ago he had a camera up the nose and down the throat and found to have a lesion on the vocal cord ...he's waiting to go have another biopsie on this , do you think this could be another case of cancer ?
Avatar n tn Oral HPV has no preference oral or vaginal, its equally satisfied to live in either place, it loves mucosa. Testing every biopsy and reporting HPV positive or negative head and neck cancers is now standard requirement teachings hospitals, but its still relatively new. I work in a giant teaching hospital in pathology. 90% of all base of tongue and tonsil cancer are hpv. we are finding up to half of all oropharyngeal, hypopharyngeal, nasopharyngeal cancers are hpv related.

Avatar f tn In December, I started having terrible neck (like my head was too heavy for my body) and shoulder pain, along with headaches. Went to my chiropractor, who diagnosed me with Forward Head Posture. Had never heard of it, but it made sense after him explaining that my posture was so poor (from 30+ yrs working either at a microscope or computer desk) that my head is too far forward, causing many problems, including the neck and shoulder pain.
Avatar n tn Because i had that skin biopsy result worry, are these 2 things related at all? should i forget about cancer and get it out of my head? i saw a general Dr (not a dermatologist) and they said it was an infection of some sort, they seemed to know nothing about what mucin meant, i dont trust what general family Dr's say about skin things because they are not familiar with skin biopsy results etc.
