Avatar f tn I talked to a doctor she said that is normal could come from anything such as flossing or an infection somewhere in the body. I am worried because my neck hurts everyday and sometimes the pain goes to my head now I'm thinking I need to see a neurologist as well. I pray to god that it is not cancer related. Nervous and scared. You should probably go see an endocrinologist.

Avatar n tn I recently posted this inn the cancer section, and then noticed someone had a similar issue. So figured id repost here incase someone here could help me, incase its a thyroid nodule. Thanks. Hello. I have a Dr. appointment this week for another problem, and plan to ask about this. But until then, I thought I would ask here. Right near my adams apple, theres a small hard lump. Avatar f tn , professor of the Department of Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) and chair of the Department of Otolaryngology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.,) You need to contact your local health department. If they don't do a study, contact the CDC. If you get stonewalled; call your Senator and Congressman. If there is a cluster of thyroid cancers (especially in children so young) they need to find out why!
621386 tn?1221532483 I have started pressure in the back of my head and neck, were it is even hard to hold my head up sometimes. I have been to at least 10 dr.'s and even had sinus surgery twice thinking that would help! Nope, just out thousands and thousands of dollars and bills so big that my family and I are struggling. I just don't know what to do or where to turn? I am 32 years old and take more pills then an 90 year old takes. Anyone have any ideas for me?!

Avatar f tn it is probably nothing, but as i am newly engaged, and i worry about my family, friends and my fiance and how they will be if something was to be wrong with me, i worry more about the effects it will have on them rather then me. i have a history of cancer and heart problems in my family, so i tend to freak out alot more then i really should.
Avatar m tn I guess the only way to find out would be to test his sperm and see if the radiation did any damage. You may want to schedule an appt. with a urologist to get that checked. I have a female friend who recently went through radiation treatments for breast cancer, and her dr. told her that she still has a chance of having children.
620004 tn?1227825306 Hi...I am a 26 yr old female who is suffering from severe pain in my head and my neck. I am having headaches, but it's almost as if the pain is incidental. Sometimes it burns, stings or feels like stabbing in my head, other times it is almost like it is electrifying. I am also experiencing pain in my neck that is almost like I cannot move my neck a certain way or it becomes extremly painful. I am having a pain that is stinging in my wrists also, and sometimes in other parts of my body.
Avatar m tn Whereas in the past, the “face” of head and neck cancer was a man in his 60s with a history of heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, the men diagnosed with HPV oropharyngeal cancer do not smoke heavily and may still be in their 50s or younger, although older men are also affected. Dr. Wirth explains that HPV cancers show a specific pattern as to where they arise.
Avatar m tn ve got another appointment with the gp this week so hopefully he will be able to help and resolve the swelling in the neck and arm. With regards the mri scan would any kind of bone cancer be seen on the scan or would this not show up on such a scan?
694885 tn?1232649948 Recently scientists have discovered that many (30%-70%) papillary thyroid cancers contain a mutation of the BRAF gene. The BRAF mutation is less common in thyroid cancers in children and in those thought to arise from exposure to radioactivity -- such as around Chernobyl. Both BRAF and RET/PTC changes are thought to cause cells to grow and divide. It is extremely rare for papillary cancers to have changes in both the BRAF and RET/PTC genes.
Avatar n tn The general term used for babies who can not hold their head up well is head lag. At birth, all babies have head lag. Some control over head movement is reached by 8 weeks so that head lag lessens. By the age of 4-6 months, most babies should be able to hold their head up when pulled by their arms to a seated position. However, there is of course some variation between infants, and some may hold their head up earlier and some a little later.
Avatar n tn I am a high school math teacher and mother of three children. For the past year I have been having very bothersome sensations in my head and neck. It started as a "roaring" sound (not a wooshing sound--more constant like a semi-truck motor) in my head and just got worse from there. A "tingling" sensation doesn't quite describe it either. The roar resonates in my head in an electric-like sensation that often goes into my neck.
Avatar m tn However, these tumors can be invasive and spread to local and regional lymph nodes of the head and neck, including those at the side of the throat area. Some tumors would tend to metastasize to the lungs but this is seen in very late stages. Without further treatment, the 3-year survival rates for patients with this condition ranges from about 20-30%.
Avatar n tn I have a hard, non-tender lump on the right side of the back of my head down towards my neck. I noticed it in undergrad (4 years ago) and they took blood work. The NP said that my white count (i think) was slightly elevated, and that i probably had a virus lingering around, which would explain the swollen lymph node on the back of my head. It has never gone away. It has been there at least 4 years now. I have lately been SUPER fatigued.
Avatar f tn Hi all, Has anyone ever heard of breast cancer (IBC or other) spreading up the neck to cause neck, ear, and head pain on that side? I have a swollen axillary node and pain in my breast and up my neck to my ear and head and nobody can figure it out, even breast specialists. Does this sound famiiar to anyone? Thanks so much for any info.
Avatar n tn My son (aged 2) has 3 enlarged nodes in his neck, one over 2inch long and pretruding, and one in his groin. He has seen the pedritician and they have said that 2 in his neck and 1 in his groin are all within the normal limits (although the one is larger than a grape?) the one that is longer than two inches she said was larger than normal but felt ok to her. They did a blood count (normal) and test for glandular fever and told me to not worry.
Avatar n tn I have had memory loss, the past couple days have had lots of numbness in my hands going up my arm, and in both feet. I feel really dizzy, and can not go outside and enjoy my children because I am so tired, and my head hurts real bad. I wake from a jerking sensation sometimes during a nap or at night, this is a new symptom but has happened a couple times...I have had a raceign heart a couple times as well.
Avatar f tn Generally pain in the back portion of the head originates from the neck problems due to irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because the nerves that supply the back of the head start in the upper cervical spine. Mostly, this kind of head pain aggravates after turning head and typically occurs in patients with previous neck injuries and in patients with marked arthritis of the upper cervical spine.
Avatar f tn You raise a great question, but the jury is still out on this issue. The effects of cellphone radiation on head and neck tumors has not been shown but also not been extensively studied." to my follow up question re 'can we test for this' and could there be a relation to the head jerking, he said: "There's no way to test for this, and I certainly don't think it has any relation to your head jerking." how would you feel?
