hormone

1363590 tn?1277807077 For a certain period I would go through a special diet rich in protein (no carbs) and meanwhile my body "thinking I'm pregnant" would start to get "food" from my body. Eating my fatness. So there I'd start to loose weight. My questions are: Is that safe? Would that somehow mess up my hormone system? What the side effects? Thank you so much;. God bless you. Marcella.
Avatar f tn d suggest Clear BLue Digital since it detects hormone levels at 25. I got my pregnant result with a blood HCG level of 27.
Avatar f tn I am making a statement rather than a question. In 2008 I started doing the HCG diet. I lost weight but in June of 2008 I was diagnosed with hormone positve invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. I had my annual mammogram in June of 07 and in June of 08 I felt a lump. I can't help but thinking it caused the hormone pos. breast cancer to grow quite fast. It was probably already there. They say cancer can be in our bodies up to 7 years. Since they use HCG for infertility it makes sense.
Avatar m tn How were you treated for Graves Disease? Are you now hypo? Are you on thyroid replacement hormones? If so, which ones, what dosage and for how long have you been on it? It's possible that you need to increase your med dosage, if you aren't losing weight. Typically, when thyroid hormone levels are adequate weight will come off. If you have current labs you could post, that would be helpful for us.
459969 tn?1398170254 No they cannot cause a false positive...but stop taking any diet pills immediately until you get your pregnancy confirmed with a blood test. There is little research on health problems that they could cause you never mind an unborn baby. Call your doctor for a blood test etc. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I'm going to guess that you are right. There's a very strict diet that goes along with hcg diet, which I don't believe is good under any circumstances, but with your lupus the diet could have serious effects. My daughter has lupus - I'd rather see her a bit over weight.
Avatar f tn About a year and a half ago I took a hormone called hcg sublingually for weight loss purposes. After wards I began to suffer terrible symptoms such as bone pain, pain everywhere, tingling, numbness, and loss if sensation through out my body. The diet also suggests that you eat less than 800 calories a day. I should also add that I was a vegetarian for 3 years before then, but began eating fish around the time of the diet.
1088509 tn?1352236247 has anyone heard of the hcg diet my friends friend is doing it and has lost sooo much weight. is it safe and will you gain the weight back once you stop???
Avatar f tn Hi! As you may already know, HCG is the "pregnancy hormone". It hasn't been thoroughly studied in breastfeeding moms, and therefore can't be considered "safe". Also, generally it is not considered to be a good idea to lose weight too quickly while breastfeeding. Your best bet is to discuss the medication with your doctor. Good luck!
Avatar f tn To be any help at all I think we need more information. How far along are you supposed to be? Which hormone is 4.4? (hCG is a hormone...so are progesterone and estrogen) Have you had your hCG checked before? If so, when and what was it at that time?
425962 tn?1285086458 So I know tons of people in my area that are losing tons of weight(I'm talkin TONS) on this "HcG Diet"... What are your thoughts on this? Do you think its dangerous? If you do know anything about it, or about someone who has done it, please share. Thx!
Avatar f tn hcg is a hormone found in blood once a woman is pregnant, this is the hormone which levels are measured daily to see if it multiplies and it shows on the development and growth of the fetus. hcg levels must multiply daily. progesterone is a hormone that could keep a mc from happening. and doctors prescribe it if there is a change of that happening.
1560848 tn?1329487433 I'm new to the stie and see a lot about this HCG. Also see it can be bought from many places and appears to be injections!!!! Is that right? What is it and how many are using this? Is this safe? Sounds scary, or illegal!!!!
Avatar n tn Taking HCG for diet reasons is a cheat and easy way out. The only true way to lose weight is to diet right and healthy and to work out.
Avatar n tn is it possible that you are further in to your pregnancy than 8 weeks? I ask this because HCG levels during the first trimester will peak sometime around 9 to 12 weeks of pregnancy, at somewhere around 25,700 to 288,000 mIU/ml. By the final weeks of the first trimester week 13 and 14, hCG levels are finally on the decline, and will be at around 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml. From there, hCG levels tend to continue the downward change into the second trimester.
Avatar f tn My non professional opinion HCG diet probably not a good idea and could be dangerous.. With hepatitis C you need to be under the care of a hepatoligist or an gastroenterologist experienced in HCV, hepatology and Cirrhosis. Patients with decompensated cirrhosis (moderate or severe hepatic impairment; CTP class B or C) should be referred to a medical practitioner with expertise in that condition (ideally in a liver transplant center).
1936698 tn?1333915193 At 31 weeks your hormone levels are not being looked at anymore. By hormone levels I think you mean HCG. In early pregnancy if a Dr. is trying to tell if you are pregnant or if they are unsure if you are having a miscarriage or not they will look at your HCG levels. These levels should double every 48-72 hours, if they do not it is usually a bad sign. After they can see baby on the Ultrasound and get a strong Heartbeat they will stop taking these HCG levels.
4784361 tn?1401231107 Most of us here, aren't very open minded when it comes to diet pills. How about if I pretend to "be your doctor" and just say "no"?.. LOL Those pills really can have an adverse reaction since you're taking beta blockers (I used to be on them, too). Diet pills usually don't work, especially for those of us with hypothyroidism.
Avatar m tn She is involved with HCG diet which is not good for thyroid, so no wander that her goiter is getting bigger and bigger, it soon may look like a kangaroo pouch
Avatar m tn you know, a normal human body loose min 2000cal a day and you have to take max 500 cal when you are on diet.. I mean even if you dont use HCG diet, you already lose 1500 cal a day min and it is 45.000 cal a mounth.. Please dont believe this kind of ******** diet program and dont waste money and dont loose your health!!!! It is just scam to take your money.. Just be smart!!
Avatar f tn ve also had incredible improvement in MS symptoms since doing the HCG diet. I felt like my old self while on the diet, and now that I've been off for awhile, I still feel fantastic! I'm going to talk to my doctor about how often I can take the hormone, even once I've lost all the weight.
5875562 tn?1410898886 Hi I'm taking prenatal.
Avatar f tn I am interested in taking the HCG injections or drops. Could someone please let me know if some of the websites that sell the drops is the "real deal' or not. Also, I have heard there is a strict diet and phases to go through; could someone please tell me if this can be done without having to go to a clinic or not. If you don't have to go to a clinic, how do you find out about the 'strick' diet to follow?
Avatar f tn Also I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests. The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy. If pregnancy is ruled out, then other causes of delayed periods need to be looked into. So my suggestion would be to consult a gynecologist and get serum HCG levels done before taking any Provera. I hope it helps.
