We have had alot of problems with the school since the first week of school. His first teacher tried to label him with a diagnosis of ODD 5 days into school. We requested written behavior reports over and over to estabish a pattern and never received one. Over the course of three weeks things esculated to the point she spanked him in front of the class.
Oh man, this takes me back to my high school days. We had a history or government teacher that was "really cool" with all of the guys who played sports. On occaision he'd sponsor some beer parties..... fortunately this guy got found out and ran out of town. t take for granted that they are right just because it is school. I have seen some teachers that should not be around any children. A teacher can make or break your child's spirit and influence the rest of their educational years.
Hang in there, you are doing a Great Job advocating for your son. Keep us posted about the outcome of your meeting on the 25th. If this is a teacher's meeting, you can bring support with you and you can ask to have the principal attend.
I always wonder why they choose to be a teacher. I remember compliments that I received when I was in elementary school. A teacher can make you or break you when you are a child. Keep up the good job loving the children that you work with.

I was just a month ago or so diagnosed with type 1 Chiari malformation, but the fact is that I'm 17 years old and still in high school with PE classes which are mandatory. I went to a neurologist but she wasn't one I would trust because all she basically said to me was which was written on my MRI results. I have an appointment with another neurologist but it's on 19th Feb.
What I'm wondering is if there are things which I shouldn't be doing in PE classes?
She takes pull ups to school and her teacher makes her go to the bathroom every hour. I still have to come to the school twice a day- at least to clean her up. Her friends make fun of her and she even does it at other people's homes when we aren't there. I'm at the end of my rope. We have punished, bribed, rewarded good days, good hours! I don't know what to do. I found out that her father had the same issue until he was sixteen.
Hello nhmom38, so your son sounds just like my 12yr old but opposite of when he acts out. Instead of bothering girls at school, he loves aggravating his two younger sisters!! I'd say though in your case, the teacher for one needs not be a push over, which sounds like that's the case ? Otherwise your son wouldn't feel so comfortable acting up, disrupting others, etc if he didn't feel the power to do so, and possibly the teacher just has no experience in dealing with a.d.h.d.
I have a 5 year old son (just turned five in June) who has been in daycare since he was 10 months old and attended two preschools with no trouble who just started kindergarten in August is having tons of social trouble. Since August he has been in the principal's office 1)sassing teacher/not behaving 2)kicking a child who kicked him first 3)getting his shirt torn by a 2nd grader who said my son called him "pee pants" 4)kicking a child during rest time.
