Avatar f tn I hit the side of my hand where the little finger is with a door very hard 5 weeks ago while playing with my kid, I fell down and my hand hit the door, when that happened it did not hurt much, it moves fine, but now after 5 weeks it is hurting more, when I pull the little finger back my hand hurts, and now the pain is going a little up my arm between my hand and the elbow, it worries me, shouldn't the pain be gone by now, it didn't almost hurt at the beginning, could it be a fracture?
Avatar m tn But hurt all day and today it is swollen from little finger down along the outside of my hand and pain is much worse. I didn't hit my hand, so do not hink it is a broken bone....but I've had a broken thumb previously and pain & swelling are similar. Help!!!
Avatar m tn or i feel tension on it if i make a fist, no visible swelling and dosent look red or anything.
Avatar f tn it sounds like some joint pain w wrist and fingers (compared w skin and musclular pain?), so a good dr or rheumatologist might have some clues. don't overtrain or force anything, it doesn't help. some stretching and routines that help maintain range of movement and flexibility are beneficial. just please don't pound your inflamed joints, it's damaging. if you find warm packs or cold packs help, do that.
Avatar m tn I wake up several times per night, every night, with a painful hand and no blood in my hand and lower arms. However, I also type for upwards if 8-10 hours daily either writing/editing manuscripts or playing games. This includes intensive, sometimes rapid, clicking.
Avatar n tn sent me for a nerve test forget the name EMT?? not sure. Was diagnoised with the carpal tunnel and ulna nerve thing. My pain is mainly in my shoulders, especially my right one and my right shoulder blade. Your shoulder, back, spine and hands will probably need checked. Hope you get some answers.
Avatar n tn ve also been waking up with pain in this finger. It feels slighty warm and I can see a very faint, small, light red mark under the skin of the side of the fingertip. I don't recall injuring or over-using my hand or fingers recently. Thanks.
1467506 tn?1286413017 ) The pain begins at my knuckle joint and extends down all fingers, some wrist pain as well though that seems to come and go whereas finger pain is always there, just intensity changes with activity. I am planning on finding a hand doc this week but wanted to know if this sounded like anything any of you have experienced before. Might it be from the FM or is it most likely not related?
Avatar f tn It’s widest when wrist and hand are straight in line. When the hand is bent up or down, the tunnel becomes slightly smaller. This then presses on the nerve which then causes a pain right up to the arm. Often proper working style, working without bending wrist, using smooth movements to operate the mouse and key pad, and relaxing the joints of finger, wrist and arm in between helps.
Avatar n tn In addition, atherosclerosis can also cause pain, numbness, and tingling while walking and they can also reduce blood supply and lead to numbness. Please consult your doctor to get all these possibilities evaluation in your case for further assessment. Hope this helps.

Also, I have be awoken by both of my ring fingers spasmed closed, which was very painful. This started about 1 month ago. No new medication or change of habits have occurred. Avatar f tn I then had a pain in my left thumb joint all of a sudden, it then moved to my wrist and then all into my hand, a chronic ache and throb and cramping. It then started exactly the same in the other hand, the same pattern aswell and is chronic in both of them! I have been to doctors multiple times who don’t know what it is, arthritic tests are all normal and as are xrays. I have been referred to a rheumatologist but the next appointment isn’t for another 6 months so I don’t know what to do.
Avatar n tn “Compression at the elbow, known as cubital tunnel syndrome, causes numbness in the small finger, half of the ring finger, and the back half of the hand over the small finger. Initially, the numbness is transient and usually occurs in the middle of the night or in the morning.
Avatar m tn Go for an Orthopaedician examination and confirm the diagnosis and you would need rest, strapping of that finger and anti inflammatory drugs to cure your problem. Take care!

Avatar n tn Yes, intervertebral disc herniation in the cervical an lumbosacral region can cause these symptoms in hands and feet due to compression of exiting nerve roots at the cervical level and lumbar level, responsible for hand and foot pain respectively. Cervical disc compression if severe or associated with spinal canal stenosis can lead to symptoms in the feet also. You need a neurologist to examine you clinically, ask for an MRI spine to check the exact levels and evidence of spinal stenosis.
Avatar m tn You may have severely bruised the bone, or fractured it by the force that went on the hand as you landed. An xray of the hand would be able to show whether you have caused damage to the bone. In the meantime strap the middle finger to the two either side to immobilise it. You can apply a lot of natural yogurt to that part and lightly bandage it. This helps by drawing out the inflammation. Keep your weight off that hand too until it is fully healed.
Avatar n tn My numbness is my entire arm but then only the middle finger, ring finger, and my little finger. My pointer finger and my thumb are fine. It's a very uncomfortable feeling!! Have you ever had an x-ray or MRI done on your back to look for arthritis, DDD, or herniated disc's? It might be worth a trip to your Dr. to check it out. You might consider a Rheumatologist and a Neurologist to find out exactly what you have going on. I hope that you can get some answers.
Avatar n tn It started with my index finger having spasms, and then moved to in between my middle finger and pointer finger knuckle. It now is deblilitating my pinkie and ring finger and causing some minor pain in the outside part of my wrist. With my hand straight out I cannot I cannot put my pinkie or ring finger together and I cannot get my ring finger together with my middle finger. Any thoughts? I have attached a pic of how close I can get my fingers together. I am 32 and relatively healthy.
5189993 tn?1364912157 It started as a small dot in my middle finger of my left hand and has progressed throughout my life. I remember it being called arteriovenous hemangioma, and I have been told it is quite a rare condition. However, everything I have been able to find online about this condition doesn't match up with what I have experienced (i.e. it continues to grow and spread, even in adult-hood).
Avatar n tn About 14 months ago one of my fingers was hyper extended when I tried to catch a softball and my ring finger was bent very far back. My finger healed for the most part, I have a full range of motion and no pain at all except when I press hard on the finger. None of my other fingers hurt when I press on them and this one only hurts when I press hard on it but it does hurt quite a bit when I press on it. Yesterday I asked the doctor about this and he prescribed Naproxen.
Avatar m tn t last long and comes and goes unpredictably. It seems the pain is also moving into my index finger. Any information any of you have or experiences related to this sort of thing would be greatly appreciated.
