Common Questions and Answers about Hair dye without ammonia and peroxide

ammonia

Avatar n tn Is it safe to recolor your hair with ammonia and peroxide free, a day after coloring also with ammonia and peroxide free dye?
1391695 tn?1298139789 My daughter is a stylist and does my hair and she could notice the thinning but no one at work seemed to notice. She uses only professional products which contained ammonia and peroxide and my hair didn't fall out any faster or become dry and brittle. In my opinion, having my hair done proffesionally kept my hair healthy because we colored only the roots and didn't overlap the color and expose already colored hair to the chemicals.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to dye your hair? Im 27 weeks an 6days aaan im dying to dye my hair I cant stand the color I want it blinde what do you think?
Avatar f tn At what week is it safe to dye your hair? I really don't want to but I'm doing my maternity pictures and my hair is a WRECK. Is the whole thing about you can't dye your hair while pregnant thing because of the fumes?
Avatar f tn I've just dyed my hair but I discussed it with my midwife first. It is safe as long as there's no ammonia or peroxide.
Avatar f tn It's said if you want to colour your hair HAVE HIGHLIGHTS because with Highlights not as much gets on your scalp. ask your doc first. My SIL dies her hair in total she is 24 weeks preg and has died her hair 18 times.... LOL. I would check with your Doctor first. it is fine in the second Trimester, Just NOT peroxide (Bleech) and stuff... And Dont be around the smell too long.
Avatar f tn Avoid henna and ammonia because they are absorbed through the scalp more readily and the effects on the fetus are unknown...but with that said, most doctors find it perfectly safe to dye your hair after the first trimester and I've done it with 2 out of my 3 pregnancies..it's a great pick-me-up for the middle-of-pregnancy blahs!
Avatar f tn can you use the peroxide bottle #10 or #20 to dye hair while pregnant? I'm dying chunks of my hair at the top only (not my whole head) that are light brown to dark brown i won't be touching roots cause its already dark brown. ima be using the box with no ammonia cause my salonist said it was the best for me even tho the hair dye would only last 2 wks.
Avatar f tn have appt for allergy testing in a couple of weeks) I was excited to find the Act Naturals (from Advanced Technologies) line of hair dye, purchased it online, and had my hair colored last week. Within 24 hours, my symptoms returned: swelling, soreness, redness, itchiness of my scalp, ears, face and neck. Is it possible that the coloring process "reactivated" PPD that is likely still in my hair from hair coloring with a product containing PPD 6 weeks ago?
Avatar f tn You can dye your hair as long as the dye is ammonia free, and I would also wait until you are officially out of the 1st trimester. The dye doesn't get into your blood stream so it's fine, just make sure you get ammonia free. I wondered this too so I did a lot of research, I just haven't gotten around to actually dying my hair yet.

7986870 tn?1401635716 I have used any hair dye with ammonia before with my first pregnancy. My baby is healthy with nno problems. I don't think there's any problem, very very few chemicals is absorbed by your scalp, and it's just the strong smell. Keep well ventilated.
Avatar f tn But they recommend you not to because your inhailing the ammonia when the dye is sitting in your hair. Ive had friends that dyed their hair while they were pregnant and had perfectly healthy babies but I just wouldnt do it still.
Avatar m tn Otherwise, it works very well and also covers gray. Wash your hair with a sulfate free shampoo and condition and style as usual. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Use hair dye that has no ammonia. And even with no ammonia try not to breathe the fumes, trying putting something over mouth and nose. But I dyed mine at 19 weeks but I used no ammonia. And I went darker cuz I had tri colored hair.
7827642 tn?1396958758 I'm 10 weeks +6 and want to dye my hair. My question is what brand can I use that won't hurt my baby?
Avatar f tn I'm wondering what kind of ammonia free hair dye to use
Avatar n tn Ammonia-free dye is ok I believe. It's the ammonia mommys to be have to avoid from what I've read!
Avatar f tn Use ammonia free dye. There is less of a color selection but it's worth the extra precaution. Never ever ever bleach your hair while pregnant though.
Avatar f tn The fumes won't hurt you either. I dye my hair, but I don't use ammonia dyes (they're worse for your hair anyway). If you do use ammonia based dyes the ammonia can make you feel sick because it's such a strong smell. I work in chicken houses, and there is a strong ammonia smell sometimes and my doctor said it's fine as long as the smell doesn't make me sick.
Avatar f tn Can I dye someone hair when im pregnant? I know I cant dye my hair but can I dye my friends?
Avatar f tn There is no research found that dying your hair while pregnant causes harm to the fetus. I dyed my hair with ammonia free hair dye and my son is completely fine. My best friend dyed her hair for her wedding photos while pregnant and her daughter is now 6 months and completely fine. It is safe.
Avatar f tn I am now 26 weeks along and I asked my doctor if it was ok to dye my hair. He said that there is no proof hair dye can hurt the baby but he said why don't you wait until its born. He said you look beautiful with your little gray....UGH! I need to go to a wedding and I really don't like hats......I thought i could use one of those wash in hair dyes with no amonia, you only leave it on 5 minutes....
Avatar f tn Technically you can dye it now. The less ammonia and such the better and in a VERY well ventilated place. Its never 100% safe.
Avatar f tn If i get hair dye without ammonia in it could i dye my hair?? Ive been doing research on it and it says it shouldint harm my baby but i just wanna be sure, im 20 weeks.
Avatar f tn ve read many articles about hair dye, and I am a licensed professional, I and 15 weeks pregnant. I also was worried about coloring my hair, after talking to my Dr as well, I waited until after my first trimester. I use a ammonia free dye, so it's less chemicals on my scalp. Hope this helps!
