Because drugs of any kind can negatively affect your chances of conception and the health of your baby, check with your doctor before taking any form of medication, OTC, or prescription. If you see a woman in the check-out line with an ovulation predictor kit and a bottle of cough syrup, you can safely assume that she isn't fighting the flu while attempting to procreate—she's actually hoping that Robitussin will make her more fertile.
Of course, nothing is 100 percent safe for all women, so it's a good idea to check with your doctor or midwife before taking any kind of medicine during pregnancy. Don't take more than the recommended dose and, if possible, avoid taking anything during your first trimester when your developing baby is most vulnerable. NOTE: If you have a question about the safety of any medication during pregnancy, visit the Organization of Teratology Information Specialists Web site.
The ingredients are acetaminophen, guaifenesin, and phenylephrine. Will any of those ingredients caus a positive drug or alcohol test?
Guaifenesin is used to loosen and thin mucus. Recommended Dosage: First of all, see this warning about possible birth defects from the use of guaifenesin. Now, if you still want to try this, make very sure that you buy the plain type that has no letters after the name. Some of the varieties contain decongestants, which will actually dry up your mucus. The recommended dosage for increasing cervical mucus is 2 teaspoons (200 mg) three times a day, with a full glass of water.
I just wondered if anyone was familiar with these remedies and if you have had success with them. Just anxious!!!
(And to make sure that you pick a variety of the Robitussin with only guaifenesin in it- not all the other meds.) I'm sure you know this, but also make sure you drink lots of water to help make a lot of happy mucous! :) P.S. the Robitussin worked for my friend, btw... she now teases her son that he's a "big phlegm" whenever he's being difficult, since he was conceived on cough syrup!
I need help... I see all kinds of robitussin with DM, CF etc, but no regular robitussin with only the one active ingredient guiff... U know what I mean. I did see mucinex in caplet form thats has just that one active ingredient, are these ok or does it have to be robitussin liquid? Ill keep looking but so far no luck and I dont want to buy the wrong stuff. Any help would be gteatly appreciated! Thanks!
Fibromyalgia (FMS or Fibro for short) is a chronic condition which causes widespread pain and fatigue as well as a variety of other symptoms. The name Fibromyalgia comes from "fibro" meaning fibrous tissues (such as tendons and ligaments), "my" meaning muscles, and "algia" meaning pain. Fibro does not cause joint pain or swelling. The pain from Fibromyalgia is produced in the soft tissues of the body, including the muscles and tendons. http://www.mayoclinic.
Robitussin has one that is strongly honeyed, sickeningly sweet, but it is a great cough suppressant, and it is w/o alcohol. Delsym is another brand; it has a 12-hour formulation, so you - and your housemates - get a good night. There may be drug-store brands; I have not found one. DM is a cough suppressant. Guafenesin is an expectorant; if you have phlegm, this ingredient loosens it and helps bring it up. If you are very dry, you probably don't want guaifenesin.
Be careful not to supplement with a single B vitamin without providing your body with the full range of B vitamins. B6 to be taken at the same time as your Prenatal or multivitamin. B6 is used to lengthen the luteal phase - LP = Luteal Phase or DPO (days past ovulation) and assist RNA & DNA synthesis and production of red blood cells. B6 and Red Raspberry will lengthen your luteal phase. If Vitex is not for you try B6.
I have noticed if I sleep with my legs spread apart as far apart as I can get them it keeps my legs from hurting when I sleep. I recently had a physical exam my cholesterol is 131, HDL 47, LDL 73, Triglycerides 94, VLDL 19, blood pressure 69 over 120. When I was young I road my bicycle 30+ mile every day. I had not ridden a bike in 30 years I just started riding a bike again and been riding 20 miles every day for 6 months it makes my legs hurt less.
Don't drink anything like caffeine after 3-6 pm that can keep you agitated. Alcohol doesn't help with restful sleep. In fact, it could contribute to snoring and poor REM sleep. Don't eat or exercise close to bedtime. Try to maintain a regular bedtime in a room designed for sleep: nice temperature, good mattress, clean sheets, darkness, NO TV or music. This routine may take some getting used to but after the first month of sticking to it, it will seem natural.
Any expectorant that contains guaifenesin as the only active ingredient is fine to use. One should buy the plain kind with no letters after it. The only active ingredient is guaifenesin, and it contains 100 mg per teaspoon. It is very important to avoid the versions that contain decongestants as those may dry up cervical mucus.
I been now for years! I just started BBT charting and taking the Guaifenesin. I am married with one child, He is 9 years old and wants a sibbling. I had 2 miscarriages. I live in California. COngratulations to those of you who are PG & Good luck to those of you who are TTC..
after beginning to feel somewhat normal again, i became obsessed with wanting fo feel how i used to feel. i relapsed for 8 days with lortab. The withdrawals the second time were not as bad but the not sleeping part and RLS were 10x worse for some reason. This friday will be 3 weeks since i used an opiate. I am just beginning to be able to sleep again i think. I am still depressed and have some anxiety. I decided to quit smoking 2 weeks ago as well.
I am doing a good deal of research and I am now trying a holistic approach - Apple Cider Vinegar (must be unpasturized/raw/unfiltered/). The dosage is 2 tsp. before each meal or diluted with water and drank during the meal (you'd have to love vinegar to drink it during your meal - o-o-o-o-o no, not me). Anyway, I am giving it a try and will keep you all posted on how this works. I do know that dairy products product excess mucous so that might be part of the problem.
Well after the operation I thought I'd better cut down as constipation was real bad issue, up to 45mins to pass what seemed like an Elephant, I even ruptured a nose blood vessel with the straining at one time, and as a friend who had had the same operation was off painkillers after 3 weeks I thought now's the time. ( 05/12/07 ) So taking the bull by the horns I cut down to 40mg 2x a day, and never expected what happens next.
I think some of my symptoms were caused by the antiobiotic which triggered a severe anxiety attack. Anyway, I am still in pain today with pain in my back near the right shoulder blade. Still the pain/pressure under my ribs. I'm wondering if I have a pinched nerve in my upper back which is causing all of this, since this area gives me more pain every day. I also notice much of the pain disappears after I sleep, or lay down and relax. Anyway, I'm going to see my GP in two days.
It was occasional problems such as mild sinus pain/pressure and headache with mild eye strain. Each year it has gotten worse. Over the course of the past 5 years I have seen multiple doctors across different specialites: Ears, Nose & Throat, Neurologist, Allergist, and my Intern. I have had MRI's and CT scans. This year has been the worst so far. I have already gotten 2 sinus infections.
I have searched threw symptoms of others with back prob. but I haven't found anyone with my symptoms of a numb mid or upper back.I have had this tingle for about 2 years, almost every day. I also sleep on my right side with my arm up under my pillow to cradle my neck as i have severe neck arthritis from a car accident 6 or 7 years ago. i don't know if that is a factor in my numbness. i also notice that it goes numb more often on the days i do wear my bra.
I also cut all alcohol out with the exception of the occasional glass of wine with we are out to dinner with friends…. (Mostly so I don’t look like a party pooper) and anything carbonated taste awful. I still had 13 migraines last month, so the neurologist is still trying to get me on the correct dose. But I also have two lesions on my brain from my migraines so what’s one more…..
I avoided the puzzle foods in which we dont know the ingredients and also the only meat chicken and there is a long list. I didnot try Robitussin with guaifenesin because my CM was good. So I dont have much idea about it. Wish this will work out for you this cycle. Mamatina: How are you? Stacey: Welcome back and thank you for the wishes. Honey looks great and cute and wish she gets a playmate soon in 9 months. You are almost at the end of tww and keep my fingers crossed for you.
the best you can do right away is to relieve the symptoms with an antihistamine like sudafed or benadryl... But with your urgency I suggest an immediate appt. with an ENT. Please let me know what has happened...and best of luck to you...I know it can make you feel crazed!!
In May I began to have dizzy spells which coincided with a sore throat and earache, which cleared up on their own. However, dizziness and fatigue continued for several weeks. The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue.
Lots of water and (at least for now) no alcohol, coffee, soft drinks, cigarettes Combined with exercise this has had a NOTICEABLE difference, but like I said is not a cure. And I suggest you test for TMAU...its easy.
On 100mg I thank god I did not have any but did have crazy dreams with them. And with 150mg I had the vision problems. I just hope that this time works. Would love to hear your stories on Clomid and hear how long before you got your BFP on Clomid...
I took clomid but with no success. My doc told me that probability of success is about 10% per cycle. So, it's not a magic pill. Simply, it ensures that you ovulate. Most people who become pregnant with clomid do so during their first 3 cycles. Also, your doc should explain on which cycle days to take clomid since that may depend on the reasons for clomid. Good luck!!!!
