Two medicines that can help thin mucus are guaifenesin and SSKI. These are minimally effective for most people but work well for others and are worth a try. Ask the ENT about these.

You want to keep that mucus moving though, otherwise you can get sick. I used Musinex...which is a brand name for the over the counter expectorant Guaifenesin. It worked great in thinning the mucus out. I also practiced deep breathing exercises. Deep breath in slowly, deep as you can to expand your lungs to the fullest, then out through your mouth slowly. MAKE yourself cough also. The point is, to keep your lungs moving. The anxiety and insomnia get better with time.
Working became difficult, I began hurting so badly that my already strong issues with insomnia were made worse. It would come and go. I found I couldn't tolerate stressful situations like I used to, that my 'mental' issues became worse and my feeling ill all the time was leading to more depression. Dr did blood work and tells me I have/had epstein barr and that could be causing my symptoms.
It makes some sense because I did not have classic gallbladder symptoms like nausea. I have other symptoms which can be attributed to fibromyalgia - fatigue, insomnia, etc. This is thought to be a reumatoid type disease. I'm going to look into this some more and will let you all know what I find out.
I was on a very low dose of Levo for a year, like 10 or 15mg per day, I never had any symptoms at all, then I had a lab done and the GP put me on 50mg Levo, after that increase I had a little trouble sleeping, I complained to the GP, so he states it is my thyroid causing the insomnia, so he raises it to 75mg, then the insomnia was worse, I could not sleep at all, and became depressed, and started to have some muscle pain starting in my hips at night while in bed, So the quack puts me on anti-de
I avoided the puzzle foods in which we dont know the ingredients and also the only meat chicken and there is a long list. I didnot try Robitussin with guaifenesin because my CM was good. So I dont have much idea about it. Wish this will work out for you this cycle. Mamatina: How are you? Stacey: Welcome back and thank you for the wishes. Honey looks great and cute and wish she gets a playmate soon in 9 months. You are almost at the end of tww and keep my fingers crossed for you.
What doctor thinks saline solution needs a script?! He also suggested Mucinex (guaifenesin) which I took today and which helped drainage but only for a couple of hours. My GP insisted it wasn't time for an ENT. Very frustrating. He seemed to think this wasn't the same problem I've been having since May, like he thought I just had several small sinus infections and not one eight-month-long illness.
In response to the comment about about hair loss while on Topamax being attributed to dramatic weight loss and not just to the actual drug--I just wanted to put in my experience so far. First of all, from what I have read, and this is true for any medication, not everyone experiences every side effect. From what I have read, with Topamax some people are lucky enough to never have any hair loss and some have to deal with a lot of it.
