Does anyone use decongestants (Guiefenesin found in cough syrup & cold meds) to help CM to be a good consistency? I heard it helps the sperm get through more easily. A friend of mine was TTC for five years and her husband had low motility. She started taking cough syrup and within 6-12 months, got pregnant and miscarried a few weeks in (in Nov.) & now is 5 weeks pregnant again and everything is looking good. I have been TTC for two years and am wondering if I should try it. Is it safe?

Lay on your left side. It's great for circulation. Also drink lots of fluids and make sure your room gets a lot of air circulated through it. If both nostrils are congested. When this happened to me I would lay on my back. Or stand up and bend over forwards a bit and then tilt my head up backwards.

The nasal block could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. It could also be due to a deviated nasal septum or nasal polyps. I'm not sure if anything can be done at this point, but I figure I should ask. This has been so constant that I almost forget it's unusual. For as long as I can remember I almost always have some congestion, and usually at least a mild sore throat.
A year or so ago I finally went to an ENT, she said I had alergic rhinitis and prescribed fluticasone. 6 months later I went back because I still had constant congestion and usually a sore throat.
