I can find no drug with the name "restyl." Do you perhaps mean "RESTORIL," which is a sedative-hypnotic in the benzodiazepine, (antianxiety) class of meds? There is also the possibility you meant "RESYL." a trade name for guaifenesin, which is an expectorant. If you've been taking RESYL for a cough for the past 6 MONTHS, you need to see your doctor inmediately. The med probably won't hurt you, but a cough lasting 6 months needs looking into.
For the anxiety I started (on advice from a naturopath) magnesium and zinc supplements, as a deficiency in these areas can give you an elevated base anxiety level. I was skeptical, but googled magnesium zinc anxiety, and it seemed plausible. So I have been on these supplements for nearly 2 months, with fantastic results. All-in-All ... the anxiety/gagging has been totally eliminated ... the worst I have gotten over the last month would be clearing my throat, without the gagging feeling ...
If this is more than a temporary flare, you might need to consider taking more maitenanve meds. Not fun, I know. You are already on good ones. You could try Symbicort as it does work better for some people than Advair does. Make sure your acid reflux is well controlled. You may need to step up to a proton pump inhibitor for that. Other options would include adding antihistamine and/or Singulair. Also, nasal sprays if allergies are a problem as well.
It can cause some of those things. Numbers 1,7,8,9 & 10. Are you washing your nose with warm salt water? Get a neti pot and do that every single day at least once - and get some guaifenesin. My 2nd ENT sat me down and said : "I'm going to give you the keys to the kingdom: Control the mucus. Mucus is caustic and it creates inflammation if it lingers in your system".
One day at a time. I know you weren't implying it was anxiety -- and I did read the stuff -- and anxiety does cause a lot of weird feelings, but I've had panic disorder for 18 years and never has it affected my sinus. Makes me break out in the sweats, feel like passing out, tingly, and all the other stuff. I think doctors pass it off to that when they don't have a clue. I will post Mon. when I find out what I'm allergic to. And then I'm supposed to start the Singulair and Nasalcrom.
Oh, for the last month i have been taking Remeron 45mg to help with depression and anxiety. How long until the nicotine withdrawals are done, and also how long until the post-opiate depression starts to subside? I didn't have very long of a habit. I know I am an addict now though, and I struggle to stay away from the pills every hour of the day almost, because i get these urges to get high. Honestly looking back i think it was the combination of prednisone and vicodin that changed me...
Of all the symptoms, this one is the worst for me, but anxiety and depression are right up there with it. I can deal with dry skin and having to wear sweaters, and pulling my thinning hair back, but pain, it causes even more depression.
You can't worry about side effects because we all respond differently to these types of drugs, and just because anxiety is listed as a side effect doesn't mean you will experience it. Prozac is an excellent medication and has been widely used for many years. Work closely with your doctor when it comes to your medication, he knows best. Take care.
I went to my doc last year complaining of intermittent shortness of breath and he listened to my breathing, and did a echo and an ekg, all were normal. Said it was most likely anxiety as it comes and goes randomly. --QUESTION-- I just went cycling and only did one mile (one direction). It was uphill, not too steep but still was a long 1 mile uphill stretch. I am not in prime cycling shape as I have not ridden almost all year. About 1/2 way there I felt like I was going to die!
Well I was abused as a child. That's the only trauma I've ever dealt with. These symptoms have been going on for many years now, since I was a teenager (I'm 23 now) so I wouldn't think it would be Lyme disease.
It helps loosen mucus congestion in your chest and throat, making it easier to cough out through your mouth. The combination of codeine and guaifenesin is used to treat cough and to reduce chest congestion caused by upper respiratory infections or the common cold.
It is likely that the throat cancer was caused by the smoking and not the reflux. If he is depressed or having anxiety, he should consult a psychothereapist. There are safe medications that could make a world of difference to his quality of life.
Hey christine---why not see your dr. if you are so worried. It can never hurt and what if your fear---your anxiety about it---is really your intuition talking to you? Lydia: maybe a good question for next month would be--- how do we know the difference between our "anxiety voice talking at us" and the natural intuition speaking to us? Stay hydrated and get some rest and the amazing body will take care of the rest.

I am otherwise healthy and take Clatitin D and occasionally Guaifenesin. There is a very large history of heart disease/high blood pressure in my family. So, I'm a tad scared right now. So, here we go: Strange symptoms: It all started about . . . 2 days ago. The really bad stuff, anyways. The dizziness started maybe 3-4 days ago. I am currently babysitting a 2 year old who contracted some sort of viral infection. It caused him to have a runny nose and he coughed a lot.
I am unsure if that is because I feel very hot or if it's just me experiencing anxiety. My face also feels a little tight and is dry. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
Fibromyalgia (FMS or Fibro for short) is a chronic condition which causes widespread pain and fatigue as well as a variety of other symptoms. The name Fibromyalgia comes from "fibro" meaning fibrous tissues (such as tendons and ligaments), "my" meaning muscles, and "algia" meaning pain. Fibro does not cause joint pain or swelling. The pain from Fibromyalgia is produced in the soft tissues of the body, including the muscles and tendons. http://www.mayoclinic.
Hello everyone , Before my pains started I suffered from depression and anxiety and was homebound for several years but I did not have any brain fog . Then in 2004 I developed myofascial pain syndrome (muscle knots in the back) and never been the same ever since . I also have IBS and in constant brain fog and I think my personality has changed(depressed all the time) . Is this only happening to me or others also have same kind of experiences?
Hello and congrats on your decision to quit! You won't regret it. All you're feeling is normal, especially the congestion. You were used to inhaling hundreds of times a day, now your lungs are sitting stagnant filled with mucus you're not able to bring up. I didn't have a cough either, lots of people don't. You want to keep that mucus moving though, otherwise you can get sick. I used Musinex...which is a brand name for the over the counter expectorant Guaifenesin.
If your symptoms are physical (and some definitely are) she/he can help you sort them out without calling you a hypochondriac every time you start to speak. And if any of your feelings and reactions are anxiety or emotion based, he/she can help sort those out. Once you have your thoughts and feelings sorted and a deep breath and some strength inside it might be easier to confront doctors, make decisions, and seek out new help as well. Just be careful.

The guaifenesin granules may contain aspartame, which contains phenylalanine, and may potentiate such symptoms as tremors, skin rashes and seizures.
Tartaric acid (feeds off yeast metabolites, so very low carb diets help) is a malic acid antagonist and it causes metabolic dysfunction and worse of all is a major toxin, resulting in pains and aches and fatigue. I personally take 1T of ACV-raw and organic- before each meal as it is one of the top sources of malic acid. Trandermal DMSO is a more potent supplement to replace MSM if you have G/I and digestive issues.

then I started to have panic attacks and felt depressed at about 4 pm-6 pm every day. I'd get anxiety about social gatherings etc. Now, for the past 3-4 days I can't fall asleep, I have horrible dreams about doctors forcing narcotics on me, I wake up in the middle of the night, and I cried all day long yesterday. I feel full blown depression coming on. I've never been depressed, I mean truly depressed in my life. I'm not trying to scare you at all....
I'm guessing it'll take a good 5 days to get over the worst and make it through the physical withdrawal which is obviously the hardest thing next to the mental part which is definitely the worst as most opiate addicts know. The anxiety and depression are super intense, the nightmares I get from the very very little sleep I would accomplish are also horrifying and haunting.

With only a 20% average chance of becoming pregnant each cycle, it's no surprise that couples can become stressed. Intercourse on demand around ovulation can lead to anxiety and increased vaginal dryness. In fact, 75% of TTC couples report an increased frequency of vaginal dryness. In relieving vaginal dryness, couples do not want to create another problem. However, most personal lubricants and even saliva can harm sperm.
When I can't clear my throat or breath, it seems like forever but is never for more than 20 seconds or so but still very scary, has caused me also lots of anxiety and stress just thinking about the next time I catch a cold. Also do everthing to avoid the throat from getting too irritated and swolen, causing the passage to narrow and mucus less space. My doctor said it's common and yes scary but no person has ever died from this.
