Common Questions and Answers about Grow fingernails quick

nail

Avatar f tn Not sure where this question fits in - I have an 8 year old whose fingernails and toenails don't grow. I think I've had to cut them maybe three times his whole life. Everything else grows normally - his hair, his body (he's tall for his age)...Not sure if this is something to worry about. Thanks for any input.
Avatar f tn Anyone have terrible fingernails with their VDD? I ask because for the past few years my nails have been very blah, the minute they start to grow they just split and peel. Now, I have noticed being on the VD for the past few weeks/months my nails finally seem to be growing slowly and not splitting or peeling, yet anyhow.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else on infergen or peg, noticed nails seem to grow faster? I also have this feeling like there is something under my nails, but there isn't. I keep picking at them. Also there is this sensative feeling, not sure how to describe it on my hands. I have picked up this nervous habit of running fingers over nails!
Avatar f tn I'm a 50 year old woman and my fingernails have begun to curl as they get longer?
Avatar n tn The second possibility would be the finger having been hit and sustaining some damage that causes the nail to grow looking different. Next set of suggestions is along the lines of a zinc deficiency. Though the way a zinc shortage appears in the nails more often is ridging or flaking, they can also apparently come out orange. You could try increasing your zinc intake. (If you take a supplement, don't go wild and take too much; just one a day.
745313 tn?1323142298 I knew about the thinning hair, which I am experiencing to a much, MUCH worse degree than I expected (but hey, it's summer!! ) But I have never read anything about tx affecting your fingernails. It only makes sense, as they are both made of the same thing - but has anyone else had this problem? Mine are awful! They are like paper, thin, peeling, and constantly ripping, even though they are cut completely short.
Avatar f tn This is so frustrating! I can't grow my fingernails out at all, because when I do, parts of my fingernails 'droop' over the tip of my fingers. It's not the entire nail -not like a club nail- it's just parts of the nail. Parts of the nail are straight while other parts of the same nail 'droop.' The mail becomes 'wavy.' Almost as if parts of the nail are stronger than the rest of the nail. All of my fingernails are like this.
Avatar f tn Every baby is different bit I myself only buy very few 0-3 month clothing because they do seem to grow out of them extremely quick. The 0-9 and 6-12 months clothing I get a little more wear out of, but again it depends on the child.
Avatar f tn but i noticed white stripes going across my toenails - 7 of 10 of them BUT my fingernails are just fine - anyone ever see this before? i am kind of thinking it is a sx of the pegasys, copegus - anyone have any clues???
Avatar f tn This question is one I have not been able to find any answers to using general search engines. My fingernails are pretty normal looking in that they are a healthy fleshy pink shade and have always been very strong and resistant to breakage. However, I notice that when my nails grow to a certain length, the white tips turn completely transparent.
Avatar f tn fingernails chemo you will find several posts on this subject. Sorry I couldn't help, but I wanted to say Hi. Haven't seen much of you lately and I hope you are doing okay in spite of the fingernail thing.
Avatar f tn Ive seen it with kids who bit their fingernails like they bite them too short so the skin just grows in front of it. But ive never seen it on newborn toenails.
Avatar f tn Yes! I just chopped off my long hair, and it's already starting to grow a lot. Plus, I find myself needing to shave my legs/underarms more... Often I'm too lazy to do it, though.
Avatar m tn About 10 years ago I went to the nail salon and added nail tips to my fingernails. A week later I went back to remove them. Soon after removing the nail tips, I started noticing my nails on my thumbs started to change colors. I went to the dermatologist and they prescribed Penlac to treat the nail fungus. After using Penlac for a while I noticed that it was not working for me. After that, I went back to the dermatologist and they did a culture and they said it was a fungus.
Avatar m tn t have sex but we both engaged in oral sex. I was drunk and after 2 minutes of it I stopped because I noticed my fingernails were covered in dried blood from fingering her. Also some dried blood was on my face too but I don't know if it was from my own hands touching my face or from the cunnilingus. How big of a risk is this? I don't know her status. Thank you. Richard.
Avatar f tn You could use a nail polish to cover it up, sometimes as the nail starts to grow the streak tends to grow with it and finally would disappear. Just don’t worry, try to relax. If it persists even after a month or two then meet a dermatologist for further management.
1674823 tn?1307263620 I have been noted to have domed fingernails but not apparently 'clubbed' They have been like this as long as I can remember What might cause domed nails but not clubbed. ???
Avatar f tn The doctor says my thyroid hormone levels fluctuates as do my symptoms. My fingernails are the worst and I am so very tired and weak. They are very soft and thin with ridges. I thought the synthyroid was supposed to help with these issues. Am I wrong and is something else going wrong This discussion is related to Fingernails indicative of thyroid problems?.
1067423 tn?1267740670 Hey there, girl.....I don't know. It sounds terrible. When I was getting chemo, I had an eruption of psoriasis and I lost my toenails and they aren't coming back....chemo ended 5 years ago. I hurt my toes all the time; but I know it would be much worse if it was my finger nails. I wish I could offer some help. Maybe someone will come along and know something helpful. Have you spoken to your doc or your chemo team about this? That's a good place to start.
Avatar n tn 10, I had 2 months of preauricular swollen nodes that developed in the setting of severe bumps while I attempted to grow a beard. Lymphadenopathy has resolved. I also developed horizontal ridges in all 10 fingernails at the same time and that lasted 2 1/2 months, until the nails grew out. In the past 2 1/2 months, I have also developed brown arcs at the tip of my fingernails and toenails.
Avatar n tn Hello, Peeling and sore skin below the fingernails can be due to dermatitis skin or psoriasis skin. If it is dermatitis skin then combination cream or ointment containing an antibiotic and a steroid is quite useful. If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
