973741 tn?1342342773 I'm sorry you were sick! Congrats on the weight loss (if you wanted to lose)! Yes, it sure sounds like things are leveling out. I hope it stays that way!
163322 tn?1458676408 s bread is potato with whole flax seed, ground flax seed and HEMP seed, with whole wheat. I just finished shaping it into loaves. Should be gooood.
Avatar n tn A friend of mine suggested sprinkling a little bit of ground flax seed on food. I haven't tried it yet, but it's worth a shot.
Avatar f tn I use a stabalized ground flax seed product to provide about 2/3 of my daily Omega-3 and a high quality fish oil capsule for the final third. The flax adds a pleasant nutty flavor to the small portion of yogurt I mix it with. I use products with (if I remember right) a 6:1 ratio of Omega-3:Omega-6. I get plenty of O-sixes from my diet (they are easy for most of us) but don't eat nearly enough foods rich in O-threes to keep a good ratio going.
612551 tn?1450022175 Flax seed is generally considered a good diet supplement for omega 3 and other good stuff - for humans. Is it good to add to dog food, either canned or home cooked? I suppose if you dog eats Kibble with water some could be mixed in there too.
Avatar n tn My period has been regular ( 28-31 day cycle), however after starting to take flax seed I am now second month in a row experiencing the delay in my period. I have had a mild hormonal acne, hence after reading a lot, I thought I will give flax seed a go, however last month my period was delayed by a week and now it is 3 days late again. Thank you!
Avatar n tn s milk, whole milk yogurt, fruits like apples that are high in natural sugars, grilled cheese with natural cheese, ground flax seed in bread and cookies (I make flaxseed oatmeal cookies)...
Avatar n tn of GROUND Flax Seed every day. Mix with Orange Juice. It is really good for your health and will help the constipation. If you've been constipated for a long period of time, you might need to take a suppository (glycerin or ducolox) first, but continue the flax everyday. It has to be "ground".
Avatar f tn I used flax seed meal for helping me keep my weight up, putting it into smoothies, oatmeal, etc. It makes wonderful cornbread. Check out this post: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn I put kale, collard greens, spinach, a carrot, small piece of ginger root, whatever fruit I have on hand, a scoop ground flax seed, 100% juice, and soy milk. Another thing I do is what I call bean salad. I get dried beans, any kind you like, I do a combo. Then you soak them in water over night then cook for two hours, smash and flavor. I dont buy canned beans because they add sodium and are cooked in lard...adds salt and fat. Plus, this way you have a lot of beans.
Avatar f tn A good way to start the day would be oat (I add vanilla and cinnamon for some flavour) add a teaspoon of ground flax seed or a teaspoon of chia seeds to your oats, both will provide you with omega 3. A little bit of knowledge can go a long way and all this info is readily available and I found it all very useful when switching to a vegan diet. It would be a shame for someone so young to suffer permanent damage from being underweight.
Avatar f tn thanks, I will start using flax seed again, had stopped during tx. I usually grind them and sprinkle them over my food and salads etc...
Avatar f tn Im trying the yogurt w/ the live cultures as well as ground flax seed. Seems to only help temporarily. My self esteem as well as daily outlook have been diminished. Im just tired. I pray for normalcy. I am at a loss. Desperate for a solution. Thank you for taking the time to advise and encourage.
16702 tn?1234090645 I'm guessing the results may vary. I use ground flax seed in a lot of things. I started using it about a year ago when I kept bloating and thought it was just slow bowels or something. Yeah, it was something alright. Anyway, I sneak it into cookies, oatmeal, on cereal, in yogurt, even sprinkle a little on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It keeps me regular but I still get my tingles and hot flashes. Oh well. At least I'm not constipated too.
2046312 tn?1360379600 Blend flax seed in coffee blender, mix with peanut or almond butter, and eat on an apple with a glass of milk. This was all I could stomach that early.
Avatar f tn 15lbs in 2 months is almost 2lbs a week. That is very fast weight loss which is difficult and can be dangerous. 2: you're young and probably still growing, so any weight loss can be dangerous if not done without consulting a doctor. 3: I don't think you need to loose weight period. Using your sex, height and weight the BMI calculator I use says you're at 22BMI. A healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9.
Avatar n tn Hello -- I have been trying to find out whether consuming flax seed would interfere with the efficacy of the taxol / herceptin treatments that I am receiving for my breast cancer. I understand from a study done at the University of Toronto that flax seed may help to eliminate breast cancer. However, I would not want to consume anything that would interfere with my regular medical treatment. The cancer is in the left side of my lymph system. It is estrogen-receptor and HER-2 positive.
475555 tn?1469304339 //www.****.com/products/?type=north_america (a Canadian company that produces and sells high-rade flax seed products) By the way, I found a small nutrient lab in Buenos Aires today that produces and markets oil from a Peruvian plant called "chia". It's supposed to be the world's best source of omega-3 fatty acids, especially ALA, better than fish oil and better than flax seed oil. Could be true...

Avatar n tn i just started treatment with telaprevir, and have used flax seed oil for the fat on one dose and will use it again. the problem with flax seed oil is it goes rancid really fast. so if you are going to use it make sure you buy from a very reliable source that refrigerates the oil and check the date. yesterday i bought an 8 ounce bottle of barlean's flax oil that was pressed on 9/15/10 with an expiration of 3/15/11. so make sure it is supper fresh. rancid oil will cause liver damage.
671251 tn?1236116671 It was very cheap and I made salmon cakes which were very good and quick to make. It also said that flax seed and flax seed oil are high in Omega 3 fatty acids without the worry of mercury. Flax seed flour is good to add to foods in place of some of the flour. It has to be ground or crushed to be used by our bodies. Walnuts are another good source too. I found a good recipe for salmon cakes in Joy of Cooking. Here is the recipe I used.
1727909 tn?1314845210 Hi there! Well, without a detailed description or a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to say if the hunger could be related to GERD and if it would resolve with a surgical intervention. Aside GI causes, increased hunger could also result from hormonal/ endocrine and neurological causes. I would suggest consulting a gastroenterologist for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of an appropriate management plan. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn It sounds like flax seed (I figured an ointment/liquid form for the eyes, one must read carefully) may be a good ongoing treatment as a simple food additive, if the dog will eat it. Is flax seed a seed? Where does one purchase it - I can check Amazon to see what they offer, but it may be a grocery store item for human consumption. I try to ruse Opt morning and night, and wonder if using it once a day and say "artivicial tears" (for humans) once a day.
