Common Questions and Answers about Green discharge that looks like cottage cheese

discharge

Now 4 days in taking the medication and my vagina is more irritated and now I'm having heavy at times green/yellow discharge with little cottage cheese like chunks-gross I know. I'm just hoping this is a sign that the medication is working and getting the bad bacteria out? I Still have 3 days to go, so hopefully this medication finally takes care of this annoying condition! I hope everyone has found relief for theirs!
Some discharge is normal if it looks yellow green or like cottage cheese you should probably talk to your doctor it can be a U.T.I or yeast infection . both can go away with medicine.
For a whileI have noticed that my vigina is quite itchy so I google searched it and everything that popped up has bees STDs and things of that nature. But I am only 13 and I have never had sex before! (to be honest I have never even had a boyfriend or kissed a boy!) so I knew that wasn't the case! I kept searching and I came to "yeast infection" that really scared me but I only had the itchyness symptom. So I left it alone.
It's usually green or yellow discharge that looks like cottage cheese... I'm used to get yeast infections so whenever I get one I usually don't have any itching or anything like that. But sometimes I do. You should look up yeast infections and next time you go to your doctor you should tell them about it. Because I know how yeast infections could be really uncomfortable especially doing the hot summer weather..
My discharge users to be white, thick but not to thick, like the cottage cheese type. Now I just realized after urinating I had some boogery type of discharge. It was like yellowish green. I have only seen very little. Its nit to bad but what should I do?
I just got this off the internet: Different Types of Discharge White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection. Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating. Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
week after my mom i started to have the same symptoms(plus a bit more white discharge then normal but its not like cottage cheese just like milky white discharge) ...burning at the entrance in my vagina...we were both treated for yeast for several months, it got better slightly but then it all went back again...
I thought maybe I had my period but today I got this really dark brown discharge and when I went to the toilet today I got the same discharge with redness that looked like blood. I thought the brown stuff might be my period but it was really light (in quantity) and about the same amount as a normal discharge... does everyone get this before their period or not?? gp???
I thought I was alone on having this smelly discharge, your comments have bn very helpful!!!! I am going to try that medication that "ORNURSE" suggested and hopefully that will help my smelly discharge as well.. I havent had the weight gain or the green nipple discharge, but I have had occasional spotting and abdominal cramps; but I must say that the smelly discharge is by far my most annoying & shameful side effect of all..

it is great to see websites like this that can help people with solutions to problems like this that normally we would have to speak to doctors about which can be so embarrasing. good luck to everyone.
This is happening to me as well! Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex which is normal for us but the next day I noticed that I had heavy discharge. I always have a little discharge and it's usually clearish as this was but what was unusual was that the amount... I would sit on the toilet and it would spill out of me. Only once was it slightly "clumpy" and cottage cheese like.
Light green with bits in it that looks like cottage cheese is usually a yeast infection. Itchyness is also a sign bt in some cases there is no itchiness and only green discharge.
The yeast infections which many females are familiar with that cause an internal (and external) itching along with a cottage cheese like discharge are usually caused by Candida albicans. When you go to your doctor and they check you for a yeast infection, this is what they are checking for. Now my personal experience: I have experienced the typical "yeast infection" as well as the external labial itching which is being described here, and they are not the same thing.

I too am ttc, and am 7dpo. I am having the same discharge...it almost looks like the cervical mucous that I have during my "fertile" time. I wonder if it's a good sign. I heard that CM increases with pregnancy.....I don't remember getting this with my son in my early pregnancy, but then again that was 10 years ago. I was pregnant in the spring and miscarried, but I am pretty sure I had extra CM at first. Who knows....good luck, maybe this is it for both of us.
You may want to wear panty liners during that time. The things to be worried about include if the discharge has a yellow or green color, is clumpy like cottage cheese, or has a bad odor. It would only be a yeast infection/thrush if the discharge looks like cottage cheese and your vagina feels itchy and has a burning type irritation. You never mentioned these symptoms, so having a non irritating, non offensive smell discharge is normal and you can't stop it, it keeps your vagina healthy. Otherwise, if you say this is a new type of discharge I would get a swab done by a doctor.
May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor. Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown. This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Your first period can look like this also.
A yeast infection feels like a burning itching sensation in your private area that can at times be really painful. Another sign is a thick white or light yellow discharge that looks like it has small cottage cheese curds in it. However it is common for some women to have only one sign or no signs and still have a yeast infection. I always got them when I was pregnant and I am battling one now because of an infected tooth and two rounds of antibiotics.
A thick, white, itchy, cottage cheese-like non-odorous discharge is often caused by a yeast infection. The pain and pressure could be a sign of an infection but the discharge you describe doesn't fit with that. It is very strange maybe coming off the pill is causing your hormones to throw a complete wobbly and you may have grown an ovarian cyst which would cause pressure in your abdomen.
Unless it is thick or clotty like cottage cheese, and smelly, it's probably just the normal cleansing discharge that comes from the vagina. It comes out milky white and thin at most times in your cycle, and clear and thick during ovulation, and if you are having some brown in it, that is a sign of menstrual activity just beginning. (The brown would have been the first endometrium that sloughed off inside the uterus, just not enough to give you a bright red flow.
About discharge- A normal vaginal discharge consists of about a teaspoon (4 ML) a day that is white or transparent, thick to thin, and ODORLESS. This is formed by the normal bacteria and fluids the vaginal cells put off. The discharge can be more noticeable at different times of the month depending on ovulation, menstrual flow, sexual activity and birth control. It is not uncommon for the normal discharge to be dark, brown or discolored a day or two following the menstrual period.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come.
But I have white/clear, gooey, smelly, stuff in my underwear that kinda looks like mucus. When it dries it is hard and it keeps happening and it builds up and leaves layers the gooey stuff. Help please!
No odor (never was) no discharge anymore ( only one I ever had was the cottage cheese like basic s***) it has a glossy appearance and again it isn't crusted or never started off as a blister or pimple.. So like has anyone ever had this with yeast infections? I'm pregnant (only 4 weeks) and I've heard that could lead to possible "complicated" cases. It's just a small (think of this big (...) ) circle, red, painless, outer labia, nothing else. Oh and it has this glossy appearance?
Don't know if this is connected but i also noticed green cottage cheese/powdery like discharge on my undies. And also had more of it when i wipped. Please help me:( im seeing my dr tomorrow so all i can do now is wait and find something to ease my mind.
In my neck, also changed but still firm. Last 3 days, I started to have discharge white like cottage cheese it looks and smells like yogurt (almost no smell at all) And just last night, while I was sitting in my bed I felt something came, When I checked it was like the same cottage cheese (texture) but this time it's yellowish! though no smell.. Am really scared what might this be.. Sorry for being annoying and redundant.. :( Tomorrow, my Pap test result will come..
Although we have made substantial progress in the development of medications to combat the causes of CVD like high cholesterol, hypertension and diabetes; the rapid proliferation of these diseases virtually negates and medical benefit. In other words, we are treating the consequences, not the cause.
