16758124 tn?1451221777 I'm not sure what your actual question is... Do you have results of thyroid hormone tests that you could post so we can see what your actual hormone levels were when you were hyper, hypo and now, when you're back to normal? Be sure to post reference ranges with all results since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own reports. Also not sure what your "high dose of Vitamin CD is"... What dose of iodine did you take and for how long?
Avatar f tn I have had high potassium levels , low B12 and low Vitamin D. I currently take a vitamin B12 pill, but once i ran out of my vit d prescription she did not feel i needed anymore. She did not say anything about what to do about my potassium level. I have no appetite whatsoever, I use to crave salty foods, now that does not appeal to me any longer. NO i do not have a problem eating, if i were hungry i would eat, but the appetite is just not there anymore.
Avatar n tn s disease, then still not feeling well, and finally diagnosed with graves disease and vitamin D deficiency. Then came Graves eye disease, not severe and under control. So yes have levels checked, I had only TSH checked in Feb of last year, and it came back in normal range, when i had my physical my tsh was 0.00 so they tested T3 and T4 and they were not normal. Good luck, it is a slow process, and i get depressed about it often, it is not a disease with an easy cure, it is a long battle.
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm 36 and I am almost 9 weeks pregnant. I have Graves' disease and had radiation treatment back in 2009. I hadn't been taking my thyroxine constantly for a few months as I was super stressed and now that I am pregnant haven't missed a dose. My thyroid levels are still very high and I'm worried that this will affect my baby's brain development/IQ levels. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'm scared and worried.
Avatar f tn Vitamin D deficiency can mimic hypothyroidism; your vitamin D is obviously too low in the range - optimal is considered to be between 60 and 80; are you supplementing for that? Normally, with Graves Disease the TSH would be much lower than your 1.820; however we're all different. Is the FT4 really 1.82, as well? That seems odd, but strange things do happen. Might want to check that just to be sure. We'd really need to see an FT3 test........
Avatar f tn Hypo patients are frequently too low in the ranges for Vitamin B12, D, and ferritin, each of which is very important. Most people do better with B12 in the upper part of its range, Vitamin D around the middle of its range, and ferritin around 80 for women. Have you been tested for Vitamin D and ferritin? Also, I recall previous posts from you. Have you been tested for Free T3 and Free T4? Please post here any additional results, along with their ranges.
Avatar f tn Hi Bec, Although I don't have Graves (do have thyroid issues though) a few weeks ago I was at 15 for my vitamin D level. (VERY low.) I have been on 10,000 units for two weeks along with 1-2 grams of calcium citrate -and I'm feeling tons better already! I too have been experiencing the bone pain/ irritation thing -which feels much like when I my calcium levels were low after parathyroid surgery...Hmm...I think I'll check out the vit D site too...:) Hang in there!

Avatar n tn I have recently been diagnosed with graves disease, I am at the point where I can no longer function and I am afraid of losing my job. What can I do to prevent this from happening before I get treated?
Avatar n tn ve had alot of the symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism for a while and have asked my doctor to check my tsh, t3, and t4 levels in the last couple of years but he always tells me they are in normal range but this time I also have low vitamin d despite taking 5000 iu vitamin d-3 several times a week. Does anyone with similar levels have hyperthyroidism? t-3 uptake 47.8 32-48.4 t4 8.79 4.5-11.
Avatar n tn I had graves disease, but I never suffered from vertigo, just the low B12 and Vit D.
Avatar f tn Did the family doc diagnose you with Graves by an actual TSI test or was the doc going by TSH? TSH can fluctuate with Hashi and we swing from hypo to hyper. I thought I had Graves last year when I had a long hyper spell. Like Barb said, you definitely have Hashi antibodies. I have heard of a few people with Graves and Hashi. As if your life couldn't get any worse? Below is the website where I found my endo. Make sure the doc tests and treats both FreeT4 and FReeT3 levels. http://www.
4852898 tn?1360039862 Optimal calcium absorption occurs with a vitamin D level greater than 79.8 nmol/L (32 ng/mL). Optimal disease prevention (vitamin D deficiency is highly linked to numerous diseases including cancer) at a minimum of 125 nmol/L (50 ng/mL).
Avatar f tn Our findings indicate that sonography has high specificity but low sensitivity in the diagnosis of either Gravesdisease or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. It is therefore not possible to differentiate between these two diseases using sonography alone. Confirmation by laboratory data is also needed." https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/postpartum-thyroiditis/symptoms-causes/syc-20376675 Why didn't the doctor just run a TSI test for Graves'?
552173 tn?1282603290 Although there could be other contributing factors, if you are inside all the time you are definately not getting the Vitamin D you need that we all get from sunlight. You can have you Vitamin D levels checked but they are a definate immediate relation to energy levels. There is a book "The Vitamin D Cure" you can read, see your doctor, read on the internet.
Avatar f tn I have a family history of hyperthyroid disease/ graves (my mum) and hypothyroidism ( my mums mum)- and 1 case of thyroid cancer (my dads grandmother) I myself have been diagnosed with a goitre diffuse with a nodule just under 2cm.
Avatar f tn I am on a methylfolated b complex vitamin and 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily because my Vitamin D level was very low. I don't have any symptoms anymore, I was having things like throat tightness, fast heart rate of 119 BPM (up from 65 normal) and I was losing 16lbs / month before I went on the anti-cancer diet and took the supplements and vitamins. I was also on thyrosoothe which I've read to be very helpful but people overdose on it and go hypo.
Avatar f tn Similarly, sarcoidosis of the thyroid gland may develop in response to an established thyroid disorder including Gravesdisease, nodular goiter, and thyroid cancer. Patients with Gravesdisease may also have concomitant conditions of sarcoidosis affecting the lungs. Patients with systemic sarcoidosis may also develop sarcoid lesions in various organs including the thyroid gland.
1314073 tn?1282841674 I was just diagnosed with Graves Disease. I've been doing reasearch on the Internet and now I am TERRIFIED! Are my eyes going to bulge and my hair fall out? Does this happen to everyone with Graves Disease. I know this sounds vain, but fear is fear and this is all I can think about. Thanks for any help you can give me.
