Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 28 year old woman and was diagnosed with graves disease 3 years ago. I have commented o many forums regarding my problem but would like your advice. I was treated with radio active iodine in 2006 and then became hypothyroid, I now take 150mg of levothyroxine daily. I have never suffered from graves opthalmology as far as i'm aware. For the last 6 months I have had a chronic daily headache. This started 3 days after purchasing new glasses.
Avatar n tn I have been going to an Endocrinologist for almost 1 year. He has done several ultrasounds showing that I have 5 tumors on my thyroid. I have a biopsy which showed they were benign. I recently had another ultrasound which showed one of the tumors had shrunk but another one appeared.
Avatar f tn I'm desperate to find help for multiple symptoms that I feel may be thyroid related. I moved to a different state across the country 20 years ago and I have yet to find a good endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid diseases such as Graves- consequently, for the last 20 years, my health has been spiraling down & out of control. I had severe Graves disease & had a thyroidectomy leaving 2gr in '75. I've been on 125 mcg Levothyroxin for many years.
Avatar f tn Thyroid inferno refers to the colour Doppler appearance of the thyroid gland in active Graves disease (inclusive of variants such as Marine Lenhart syndrome), and consists of multiple small areas of colour flow seen diffusely throughout the gland representing increased vascularity and arteriovenous shunting.
Avatar m tn Well I'm not a gastro doc, but by the tests it doesn't appear to be gastro related. My thought is possible hernia, or just one of the symptoms of graves that didn't make ''the list''. Many of us with graves have a symptom or two that didn't make the list of symptoms. Yes joint and muscle pain is also a symptom of graves. However being low for potassium and magnesium can also cause joint pain. These deficiencies are common in hyper. Do you take supplements?
Avatar f tn I am one year postpartum and recently diagnosed with Grave's disease. My symptoms started at 10 months postpartum, but were initially dismissed (by both myself and my intial doctor) as typical post-pregnancy symptoms. I have a TSH of 0.02, T3/T4 haven't been done yet...but my thyroid receptor antibodies are positive (moderate titer).
Avatar f tn Stress can aggravate the thyroid but Graves is an Autoimmune Disease and proving the car accident 'brought on' Graves and Hyperthyroidism...I dont fancy your chances. If it was just hyperthyroidism, I would most definately say yes but with Graves Disease, you are walking a fine line that most Insurance Companies will try to get out of paying. Have you had a TSI antibody test to prove you have Graves or just a diagnosis? If you havent had a TSI test...then I suggest you have one.
Avatar f tn During the chemo symptoms appeared of hyperthyroid (I had it in my twenties)Bloodtest was negative. Symptoms stayed and was just diagnosed with hyperthyroid still being tested for Graves. My labresults: TSH: <0.03 Ref: 0.30-5.60 T4 Free: 59.5 Ref: 7.2-21.0 Free T3 25.7 Ref: 2.9-6.0 At the same time as my labtest a MRI was made.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism & Graves disease 5 years ago, but am currently not treated for it. I had a large nodule biopsied 3 years ago (it had been growing) and it came back normal. My levels have not been terrible for the past few years, so there was no reason to treat. I am now having a medical issue that started 5/1/2012 with a very sudden onset, but my endocrinologist does not think it's related.
Avatar m tn Thank You both for your replies. Shellywill...I will keep you in my prayers while you await your diagnosis. Thank You for your kind words of support. DrNoopurMD...I will run out at lunch today and buy/start taking Vitamin B Complex. Thank You! It is definitely worth a try. I did contact my endo yesterday but he said to follow up with my primary care MD. I'm going to schedule a physical today (it's been 2 1/2 years since my last one...
Avatar f tn I have had Graves Disease for the past 15 years and have had many of the symptom associated with it, but recently I have started to have ringing in the ears, numbness on the left side of my face and a twitching left eyelid. Is this just a part of having Graves Disease or is this something else? If it is something else what could it be?
Avatar n tn why after almost two years do I still have graves symptoms.
Avatar n tn i feel like my legs are going to collapse, i feel sick all the time, im just looking for a doctor that will listen to me because my symptoms are getting worse. what i understand about graves disease is that it is an autoimmune disease and that there is no cure, but the endocrinologist is taking it so lighly because my readings are fine, what am i to do??
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with graves disease and had the radioactive treatment to destroy it a few years back. I have had a few times where I did not have my meds for a week at a time. Is it normal to feel so tired and cranky? Also I took Zirtec for my allergies and I felt like I was cloudy and just wanted to sleep and tightness in my chest..... I am currently on 137 mcg of Levothyroxine.
Avatar f tn I am a 25 y/o female diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at 16 and later with Graves Disease and Goiter. I have been on Tapazol along with Atenelol (for the Tachacardia) off and on for the past 9 years with no results. Every doc I see wants to discuss nothing but RAI or surgery. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a few years with no success. I finally found out that I was pregnant the beginning of last year and made it to 4 months and suffered a miscarriage for no apparent reason.
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm 36 and I am almost 9 weeks pregnant. I have Graves' disease and had radiation treatment back in 2009. I hadn't been taking my thyroxine constantly for a few months as I was super stressed and now that I am pregnant haven't missed a dose. My thyroid levels are still very high and I'm worried that this will affect my baby's brain development/IQ levels. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'm scared and worried.
Avatar f tn my sister has hd graves disease for about a year she does not take med. right she has not gotten blood work for about four months she just keeps taking med because she has refills she is getting really crazy she thinks people are trying to kill her coul this be from graves disease This discussion is related to TSH Levels at 3.75.
Avatar n tn Graves is an autoimmune disease and unfortunately for life. Controlling whether they raise or suppress is key to beating the symptoms of the disease. If you are on Levo now - your labs must be abnormal and now lean towards hypoT levels. You would feel like cr@p right now with the swinging patterns you have been on. "Once Graves.... always Graves" is the saying here. But I am positive your endo or ???
199177 tn?1490498534 My husband was diagnosed with graves disease this last week .He sees the endocrinologist Monday is there anybody that can help me understand this and are the partiular questions he needs to be asking the doctor .
