Avatar f tn Ticks can potentially spread various diseases (eg: Lyme disease) so it's possible you have been infected and this has caused sudden changes in symptoms. Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) are seen in both Hashimoto's and Graves disease. In Graves' disease, the antibody to test for is called thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulin (TSI) - sometimes called TSH receptor antibody (TRAb).
Avatar f tn I am a mother of 4 boys my youngest having downs syndrome I was diagnosed a year or so go with early stages of graves disease plus now been put on meds for high blood pressure and antidepressant and now being accused of drug abuse and having failed a drug test then taking another and passed could the meds and any otc interact with this.
Avatar f tn Something we did not expect was him having Aortic Stenosis. Graves Disease causes numerous symptoms so we thought it was the disease causing his heart problems. He just took the treatment for the Graves so it's going to be a month or so before the treatment starts to show some results. He has another test scheduled next week with an Interventional Cardiologist. I've read alot of material on Graves Disease and Aortic Stenosis, but I have not found any material on having both diseases.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with B12 anemia almost a year ago. I suffered from severe fatigue, memory loss, personality changes, high blood pressure, and loss of feeling in my hands and feet. I started injections and have been on them for year now. I have been feeling better I only need about 10 years of sleep instead of 18. I still have poor memory but not near as bad and so on. I thought after the shots I would feel much better but I don't.

Avatar m tn The symptoms of Graves Disease would be those of hyperthyroidism, such as sudden weight loss, sweating when others are comfortable to cool, diarrhea, hand tremors, heart palpitations (these can be present with hypothyroidism as well), rapid heart rate, irritability, mood swings, fatigue and many others.
372751 tn?1310358305 We were surprised when it came back at 0 but that would explain my sky high blood pressure and pulse rate. I was given a beta blocker to help with those symptoms and just completed a RIAU. It came back normal. ??? At this point, we are going to run blood work again (TSH, T3 and T4). According to the nurse, if this comes back normal this time we are "done". I am still concerned regarding my symptoms especially since my paternal grandmother, father, and uncle all have thyroid disease.
Avatar f tn t seem to find a cause for my episodes of high blood pressure. The Intervention Radiologist who did the procedure had just called me and suggested thyroid issues. He indicated that the iodine sensitivity mainly occured in people with Graves Disease. I am classic hypothyroid though after my procedure they ran a TSH and found it low inidcating my thryroid was more stimulated than normal. The Dr. indicated that it takes about 2 months for iodine to get out your system.
Avatar n tn At first my endocrinologist was reluctant to prescribe more than a token amount of levosynthroid, although I was becoming symptomatic with hypothyroid symptoms. She feared Graves disease returning. I see her every 6 weeks and get blood drawn, and she has gradually raised the synthroid every time so that I am up to 112 mg per day. Obviously, every time I get labs done, I am thyroid-deficient. The last TSH level was 9.5. 9.5 is high, but not super high. Nonetheless, I feel exhausted.
Avatar f tn High blood pressure, tiredness are two main symptoms of a pheo. This can change at any moment and go back up again, as adrenaline is surged through the body, giving high blood pressure. I'd be getting them to look at those two issues. Are you sure it was 2000mcgs? Or was that a typo?
727481 tn?1231203771 I was put on levothyroxin, synthroid and now levoxyl, but 3 months later I still feel awful. My symptoms are high blood pressure, constant trembling, feeling like I have the flu, dizziness, insomnia. My last blood test showed a TSH at 3.21, Free T4 at 1.0 and Free T3 at 3.1. I've also had a million other tests that all show normal as my endocrinologist said that my symptoms are a coincidence to becoming hypothyroid and they were trying to see what else might be making me ill.
Avatar f tn Some of my symptoms include night sweats even though I am HRT (diagnosed POF at age 17), sore muscles and very stiff hips, shaking hands and body, hair loss, anxiety, angry, trouble sleeping but tired all of the time, hives and itching all over my body, increased appitite and some weight gain, headaches, frequent sinus infections and high blood pressure. I could go on and on.
Avatar f tn Liddle's Syndrome by blueyes7648, 1 minute ago Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has heard of Liddle's Syndrome, I am a 27 year old female that has had high blood pressure since I was 17, and this last year I have had many other symptoms pop up, fatigue, tinnitus, headaches, dizziness, ear pain/pressure, allergies out of the blue, fast heart rate, and just plain feeling like **** all the time.
Avatar n tn i feel like my legs are going to collapse, i feel sick all the time, im just looking for a doctor that will listen to me because my symptoms are getting worse. what i understand about graves disease is that it is an autoimmune disease and that there is no cure, but the endocrinologist is taking it so lighly because my readings are fine, what am i to do??
1833449 tn?1333849501 High heart rate; high blood pressure; headaches; nausea; weakness; fatigue; visual disturbances; anxiety attacks; tremors; convulsions; sweating; hives; and hyper reflexive. Can anyone help me to understand what I have? This began in June 2011 and, as of yet, I don't have a diagnosis.
Avatar f tn What are the reference ranges on your FT4 and TT3? Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. Do you have any hypER symptoms? Intolerance to heat? Diarrhea? Insomnia? Anxiety? Elevated heart rate or blood pressure? Were you trying to lose weight over the paswt year?
Avatar f tn T3 Uptake is a different test, and it's considered obsolete and virtually useless. Despite its name, it's actually an indirect measure of T4. So, we have no idea what your T3 is doing. T3 and T4 are the two primary thyroid hormones. T4 is made exclusively in your thyroid. It's the "storage" form of the thyroid hormones. However, cells cannot use T4 directly; first it has to be converted to T3, the "active" form of the hormones.
Avatar n tn Yes - see an endocrinologist as you have symptoms and high blood pressure that should be addressed/treated. Would use methimazole and beta-blockers in such a case.
Avatar f tn my sister has hd graves disease for about a year she does not take med. right she has not gotten blood work for about four months she just keeps taking med because she has refills she is getting really crazy she thinks people are trying to kill her coul this be from graves disease This discussion is related to TSH Levels at 3.75.
Avatar f tn losing weight, itchy skin, heat sensitivity, heart palpitations, insomnia, light mentstrual cycle, Raynauds (numbness and tingling), plus it feels like I have a lump in my throat with trouble swallowing. The one symptom that has my doctor stumped is that I seem to be sensitive to a lot of foods now. My doctor doubts it's food allergies.
Avatar f tn Sorry you feel so awful. It sounds familiar. I'm not a doctor but it sounds to me you need to get off the PTU and wait a week or two before taking another blood test. It takes awhile sometimes to get it out of your system and to get a read on the TSH levels. They are way too high according to your blood work. Your symptoms don't sound like Grave's Disease at this time. It sounds more Hypo. Most importantly you have to feel confident with your doctor.
Avatar n tn iam apatient who suffers graves disease. My question is : Although I am almost 4 months on Carbamizole treatment 60 mg + Taking inderal ( propanalol), but the levels of my T4 & T3 are still high and the levels of TSH is less than 0.01. what do you think , should i sstop the medication and think of the other allternatives like the radioactive iodine or surgical removal?
