Avatar f tn What med are you taking? What are the actual T3/T4 levels and are they Free T3 and Free T4 or Total T3 and Total T4? Be sure to include reference ranges with any labs posted. Have you been tested for Graves Disease or Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? Both are autoimmune diseases that attack the thyroid. All Graves Disease is hyperthyroidism, but not all hyperthyroidism is Graves Disease.
Avatar f tn They have always stayed low but my TSH has been low forever. I think I have many blocking antibodies because of my TBII is 31% <16%. Can someone have Hashimoto Disease and have a high TSI? I feel so much more hypo than hyper and have since being diagnosed with Graves. I have seen 3 different endos during the past 3 years and no one seems to help me. They all want to treat my TSH while my FT's are in the tank.
Avatar n tn I have low thyroid problems. Is there any way that i can come down with Graves Disease?
7726696 tn?1393688452 Likely: Autoimmune disease (Graves disease). Treatment I think is usually medication. If that fails surgery or Radioactive Iodine treatment. Less likely: Thyroiditis. Thyroid inflammation, typically resolves over a few months. Not so likely: Benign hormone secreting tumor. Often called a hot nodule because it shows up strongly on radioactive iodine uptake test. Treatment is surgery. A doctor should be able to help you figure out what the cause is and what treatment is needed.
Avatar f tn hi i'm a 28 yr old woman and have suffered badly with symptoms from graves disease for 3yrs i've been on propylthiouracil for a year now as i had a severe allergic reaction to carbimazole! my symptoms include insomnia, severe fatigue, anxiety, bouts of depression, poor concentration, memory loss, bruising easily, dizziness, nausea and graves rage and weakened immune system (sick often). the problem is that i've recently had a blood test that read normal at 5.
Avatar f tn Just got some blood work and an ultra sound done. My TSH is .0006 and the ultra sound states "increased vascularity of the thyroid diffusely. then gives left lobe 4.1x1.5x1.2 right lobe 4.3x1.6x1.4. They say it might be due to Graves' disease, but is not specific. what does this mean and why is the TSH so low. I've been reading and no one seems to have it this low. I am suppose to have an appointment with an endocrinologist, but don't know when.
Avatar n tn I had the same thing, but I was tested for pituitary disease, and it came back negative. They are treating me for Graves Disease even though my T4 is not high. I must admit I am feeling much better. Hope you get a solution soon!
877337 tn?1249844450 Graves' disease may present clinically with one of the following characteristic signs: * exophthalmos (protuberance of one or both eyes) * a non-pitting edema (pretibial myxedema), with thickening of the skin usually found on the lower extremities * fatigue, weight loss with increased appetite, and other symptoms of hyperthyroidism * rapid heart beats * muscular weakness The two signs that are truly 'diagnostic' of Graves' disease (i.e.
Avatar n tn Has your doctor told you, you have Graves Disease? Yes, your TSH is extremely low and your FT4 is extremely high, indicating that you are hyper, but your antibody tests indicate Hashimoto's. TSI is the definitive test for Graves Disease and I don't see that listed. Have you been put on antithyroid med?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Graves disease 11 years ago. My endo prescribed Methimazole, which I was allergic to, so he told me he didn't want to prescribe me anything else because sometimes the allergy kills the thyroid. It apparently did, because all of a sudden I was hypo and I had to go on synthroid. Since then, I lost my health insurance and got handled by my PCP instead of the endo (cheaper).
Avatar f tn You have hyperthyroidism. Most commonly this would be Graves' disease. The ultrasound did not show a nodule that would be "hot". The vascularity on the ultrasound was unremarkable, typically in thyroiditis this is a low. Classically in Graves' disease it is high but this does not exclude Graves' disease. The antibody you've had have been negative but these are nonspecific for Graves' disease.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with graves disease and had the radioactive treatment to destroy it a few years back. I have had a few times where I did not have my meds for a week at a time. Is it normal to feel so tired and cranky? Also I took Zirtec for my allergies and I felt like I was cloudy and just wanted to sleep and tightness in my chest..... I am currently on 137 mcg of Levothyroxine.
Avatar n tn iam apatient who suffers graves disease. My question is : Although I am almost 4 months on Carbamizole treatment 60 mg + Taking inderal ( propanalol), but the levels of my T4 & T3 are still high and the levels of TSH is less than 0.01. what do you think , should i sstop the medication and think of the other allternatives like the radioactive iodine or surgical removal?
Avatar f tn my son was a newly diagnosed "graves disease" pt. he was given tatazole tablet 5mg. to be taken after breakfast for one month, what are the side effect of tatazole, the things he have to avoid and if you can give me more/additional information about the disease. thanks!
Avatar m tn The second endo told us today he thinks the problem is Hashimotos disease. I hate to second guess him but must based largely on the low TSH and two high TSI tests. Am afraid we will need to seek a third opinion. Thankfully, whatever it is seems to be at a relatively low level at this point. Thnks for you suggestion. Have done so much reading on this topic I am overwhelmed.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been having some problems lately and thought they may be my thyroid as I have Graves disease which leads to hyperthyroidism and my doctor had recently given me my lab slip so I went and got my blood work done. Today I called and the receptionist told me my TSH is really low and my T3 is high. What I want to know because she couldn't tell me is what is dangerously low? Below are my levels. TSH - 0.02 T3 - 3.79 T4 - 1.
Avatar f tn unfortunately, you have to wait to get the raiu results. i was in the same situation as you...low tsh, high ft3. it's hard to distinguish between hashi and graves in this situation. i initially had t3 thyrotoxicosis then eventually moved into hypothyroidism. the raiu (very low uptake) is what gave the definitive diagnosis. your doc is definitely running the right tests. you have the blood work piece of the puzzle. the raiu should give you a complete picture of your diagnosis.
